Ordered takeout on Mothers day. This was our first experience at Yangs. $68 dollar order. The General Tso chicken and the szechuan dumplings were very good. The beef lo main was ok but could have had more beef. The Pad Thai with shrimp got LOTS of noodles but only 5 shrimp., not good. We were surprised that we only got one container of white rice. The 2 egg rolls were average. Usually when we order Chinese food we get Fortune cookies but did not get any from Yangs. I guess they don't give them. read more

I ordered carryout this evening to bring to the fireworks event. The food was good and the service was quick. The woman working at the front desk was very friendly. However, while I was standing there with my 2 young kids, a woman started yelling at the woman working at the front desk, telling her not to give out the bathroom key (to paying customers!) My kids had to go to the bathroom, and that woman went storming into the bathroom behind us, and a customer told me that she had yelled at her, telling her she shouldn't be using their bathroom. It was so rude! I will think twice about bringing my business there again just due to that rudeness. read more

This was my first time going to Yangs. I always see it on my drive home from work and it's right around the corner from my home. I ordered ahead for the beef and broccoli lunch and chicken teriyaki. Upon entering the side door, I walked down the hall to a main entrance. No one was there except a cook who was facing the other way, so not incredibly inviting. I went to give the cook my credit card to which he said it would be a ten dollar minimum. Overall? Food was pretty good. They don't give bursting at the styrofoam seams portions you would see at your typical chinese restaurant. read more

I am alway in search of great places to eat. Unfortunately this is not one of them. With all the positive reviews, I thought this would be a great place to eat. Unfortunately I must a caught them on a bad day or the reviews are from friends and family of the business. As you can see my egg fu Young was burnt and greasy. My friend had vegetable lo mein which had no vegetables. The fried rice was awful. It smells like cleaning supplies. Almost $40 down the tubes. I advise you to go to the French quarter which is in the same building. They have far better food. They were closed or I would've ordered from them. The service was awful. And friendly. Pretty darn good best Chinese takeout in the "wachusett" area by far. We've been several times in the past few months and have chosen lunch specials during dinner time. I believe they add a few bucks but it's still an amazing price for how much food you get. I like to try something new each time and have never been disappointed. It's getting nearly impossible to get decent Chinese food anywhere we go. Prices keep going up and food quality and service keep getting worse. Tonight we got take out from Yang's and honestly, it was just awful. We ordered a house fried rice, Hunan chicken, and an appetizer combo. The fried rice was basically bad pork fried rice with a few small shrimp thrown in. We had to dig to find a couple tiny strips of chicken. It even had little onion. Completely boring. On the appetizer combo, the only item that was any good was the crab Rangoon. Weirdly, even though the chicken fingers had uncooked batter in the middle, the fried shrimp were so over cooked that the batter was hard and crunchy and the shrimp that might've been inside at one time were mummified. They weren't even recognizable as shrimp. The Hunan chicken was 50% vegetables and strangely, this dish did NOT come with a small white rice, something I've never seen in decades of ordering Chinese food. Cheap move by the owners. read more

My fiancé and I have gotten take out from here a few times in the past. It was ok, not great, but passable. After tonight's experience it's going to take some convincing to go back. We ordered the Mongolian beef which was flavorless and mostly onions. Also ordered the Ta Chien Chicken which on the menu says - boneless fried chicken in a hot brown sauce - sounded like something savory but turned out to basically be general gao's chicken with vegetables. Also had a few apps, one of which was fried wontons (with meat). Mostly all wonton with what looked like wok or grill scrapings. As for what type of "meat" I have no idea. One can only imagine. The sauces they included were watered down and just plain awful. The duck sauce looked like orange juice. We live in the area so there's not a whole lot else to pick from. We were so pleased when moving to Rutland to find that the town hosts one of the best Chinese take out places around! Nothing short of Nancy Chang's in Worcester comes close. Favorite dishes include: House Special Lo-Mein, Ta-Chien Chicken, Chicken with Brocolli, Chicken with Mixed Vegtables, Crab Rangoons are excellent too. There was a lady about 58 years old working there and she was very rude and unfriendly. Her attitude and the tone she was speaking with me was very unpleasant. The food was also UNPLEASANT and DISGUSTING. I know this is the only Chinese food in Rutland. But I wish there was another Chinese restaurant that will open and and I will totally go there.
