I stopped into the Yankee Candle store today because they are running a buy two get two free sale and I definitely wanted to take advantage of it. I am so glad I went in. The moment you walk up to the store you can already smell the warm Christmas scents drifting outside and it honestly pulls you right in. Inside, everything looked beautiful and festive and they have so many different holiday collections right now that I wanted to take home every single one. I finally narrowed it down and picked four candles that I absolutely love, along with some candle toppers and a couple of really pretty holders. I am so happy with my choices and I cannot wait to decorate for Christmas with them. Emily helped me at the register and she was amazing. She clipped all the candle wicks for me, wrapped everything with so much care so nothing would get damaged, and even gave me a coupon for my next visit. Her customer service really made the whole experience even better. This was my very first Yankee Candle purchase and now I am already excited to see what the next holiday collection brings. Yankee Candle Company is a dangerous store for me to be in. I always end up walking out of the store with more than I intended to shop for. I have been a fan of their candles, room sprays and car air fresheners for some time now, but it is nice to have an actual brick and mortar store to sample all the fragrances and check out all their products with friendly service to boot. To say I am a fan of their products would be an understatement. I have their products in my kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom and in my car ;) A lot of my friends are fans of candles, so I am here often to buy gifts, too. During the holidays, they have some awesome holiday themed items for presents. The staff who work here are always so nice and helpful. I recently popped in as I saw they were having a holiday clearance sale with some items 50-75% off. The salespeople know their stuff here. If you give them an idea of what kind of scents you like and those you like to avoid, they can steer your towards fragrances that will appeal to you. I really like the idea of the salesgirl who just helped me spraying the tissue paper adorning my shopping bag with a home fragrance spray scent I was curious about so I could smell it more at home. Being on their email list helps to advise you of upcoming sales and new products. They are great with exchanges here in the store, also. I used to have to drive to Main Place to visit a Yankee Candle store. Glad this location is here as it is way more convenient to me and a pleasure to shop at. read more

This reviews a little late but I just couldn't not write it... I had lunch and did some shopping at Irvine Spectrum last week and randomly went into Yankee Candle Company. I usually buy candles in passing at Target, Home Goods, or store like that so this was actually my first time in a Yankee Candle Store and the sales associate Anna not only gave me a great introduction to the store and products but actually also truly informed me and impressed me about the importance of proper amount of ventilation when burning candles for a long period of time because soot will collect in the air even if you don't see it. I told her I had some in my nose... I actually never realized this. They even had a candle that had a specially designed wick for moving the soot away from the candle... or something else interesting like that. I just loved the vibe of this Candle chop in general & really thank you Anna, since you told me that I've started always opening a window whenever I leave a candle burning for an hour or so... read more

my boyfriend and i walked in wanting to get one candle and left with the perfect candle, a candle wick clipper, and a candle topper. thanks to victoria, who came up to us so kindly while we were sniffing every candle and probably being annoying, we found things i didnt know existed that i LOVE. she asked what candles i usually like and i told her fruity and pink and she showed me a candle that smelled like my perfume that i had been looking for for a while. she pointed out how my eyes lit up when i smelled it because i was so excited and i don't doubt it! she was so kind and held the candle in the front for us while we continued to sniff every other candle. she tried to sell us on the 4 for $48 but we were very strict on one candle, unfortunately for our wallets she did perfectly sell us on the candle topper and wick clipper and we paid a little more than expecting, perfect salesperson in my opinion. she belongs in customer service! read more

Yankee Candle used to me one of those stores we hit up around the holidays to bring that little extra something to the mix. We typically used to go to the location in Los Cerritos Center but it went out of business several years ago and I was never aware of any other locations in the vicinity. I recently saw several Yelp friends check in here, so when me and my wife ended up at the Spectrum we had to step in and check it out. I am happy to report that the store hasn't changed and is exactly as I remember it being. The staff is friendly (sometimes overly so), and the selection of candle scents and sizes is huge. My personal favorite scents are still the butter cream and the Root Beer, but we discovered several new scents worth checking out on our latest excursion. After trying out several scents my wife decided to purchase a small jar of the Summer Scoop scent which is quite nice. I also was a big fan of the Black Cherry so we will have to come back for that one at another time. The prices are a bit high but the quality of the candles and the uniqueness of the scents makes up for it and they do often run special 2 for 1 promotions as well as various coupons. We spent a good amount of time in the location looking at all of the various Christmas holders for the votives, tarts and tea lights but held off on purchasing any for now. The selection is great as I said and they have many variations for regular everyday themes as well so it's not just holiday oriented. $17-30 for a candle can be a bit pricey at times but they typically burn anywhere from 40-100+ hours so you do get your money worth if you just burn them a few hours a day. Yankee Candle makes the perfect gift in a pinch as well so I always keep that in mind. We will be back to take advantage of the special deals they gave us after the purchase and to pick up more scents for around the house. read more

We were just here during the semi-annual clearance sale, and we found the candles and service to be amazing! We came here to shop for my son's tutor. She loves coconut scented candles, which have always been really hard to find. When walked by the store, we were curious and wanted to know if they had this scented candle. Well, we scored! They had a unique 3 Wick Coconut Candle at only $12.00. We also stocked up on other very nice candles while we were here. Although the sale and candles were nice, the customer service is the truly impressive part about this store. Even in the midst of this crazy weekend sale, every salesperson looked up and said hello. They also had someone come out from the back to make sure all of the customers were being helped. Came here yesterday with my bf and had a pleasant trip! They have a fantastic selection of candles, and had all of the holiday scented candles for Thanksgiving and Christmas! I was curious to check to see if they had fall/pumpkin scented candles because Bath & Body Works completely removed all of their pumpkin candles after Halloween, which I thought was SUPER annoying because pumpkin is still relevant until Thanksgiving ends. I wanted to find something that would satisfy my pumpkin/fall scented needs before moving on to Christmas scents in December. They have several different sizes of candles, and also different types of candles within the sizes (ie: large tumbler vs large jar), and I was unsure about what the difference was, so I asked a sales associate and she kindly explained everything to me! She also offered to help me find scents that were generally along the lines of what I was looking for. While checking out, another sales associate made lovely conversation with me and I was really happy with my visit from this store because they were so friendly and personable! I wasn't even in the shopping mood when I took my daughter to Irvine Spectrum during a pandemic. Ourselves and thankfully 90% of shoppers wore face mask including all the employees at this Yankee location. I was immediately greeted by an employee busying herself as I asked where the Apple candle was located for my SIL so I can just buy it and get out ( cautious about covid). There was only 1 other shopper so I cautiously approached the register to just pay and get out of the small shop. Then, comes Laura, a seasoned salesperson with the cheerfulness and what could only be perceived under her masked face as a blue ribbon first class customer service smile. She was super helpful when I responded to her question that this candle was a gift as she asked if I wanted to personalize it with a photo label. I'm not sure if it was her approachable manner or her kind vibe, I said yeah! From behind her plexiglass register area, she gave me instructions on what to do and within a short time my candle was ready. I completed the purchase with a beautiful gift bag within their large Yankee canvas reusable bag which my SIL will love. I can't wait to surprise my SIL with her fave scented candle including a silly personalized photo of us. Laura made my day with her great customer service all masked up behind the counter. I don't know, maybe I just needed all the personal care she took with my purchase to change my day. I mean, she was just so nice you know, in that I'm not just selling you a candle kind of way with her smiling eyes. Thank you for improving my day from what I thought would be an anxiety drivin trip to Irvine. At the moment of payment we noticed that the bill was $35 so we questioned why- this salesperson said oh you got 6 scents which we didn't and later on in front of her manager she stated she rang one of the scents twice. I understand we are human and we make mistakes but blaming the customer instead is not professional. Yelp 2014 Challenge #19/100 They have really great service here. Taking shelter from the rain outside, I walked into an aroma paradise. The workers said hi, talked to each other for a few more moments while we browsed the store, then came to help us out. They asked for our preferences and went around the store trying to find a candle scent that I would like. By the way- food and Christmas scents here. No. Just no. Bacon Candle. That one was revolting. They did have espresso beans (I asked) after smelling that candle so that I could smell other things again. I did find something I liked. Bahama Breeze. It's a tropical paradise away from life. But with the prices here, I'd go to Bath and Body Works and get their sales :/ $10.80 for a small candle. Sigh. Gotta come back on a sale day. read more

The Apple Pumpkin smell is absolutely amazing if you love the pumpkin & fall smell. Another favorite is the lavender and pumpkin spice. I'd never been a huge fan of candles because they'd always stuff up my nose. However, I really thought my home could use a nice scent .....not that it stunk before......just that I recall visiting some friends' homes at they always smelled so nice with that hint of a fresh floral garden. I had previously bought some candles from the grocery store, but the scent was so weak that it may just as well been an odorless candle. I googled scented candles and Yankee's came up.....so off I went to the Irvine Spectrum. Wow! The store is really pretty with all the colorful range of candles all stacked up from wall to wall. I knew I was going to be stumped as to where to begin....so the nice salesperson came and asked me how she could help. She was so informative and showed me the candles that she thought fit the scent I was looking for, and even explained how to make the candles burn more efficiently and to reduce the black soot and smoke.....ie by clipping the wicks down to a short length before each burn. After smelling at least a dozen scented candles I think I was starting to get high.....so I decided to go with the larger 2-wick jar of Lemon Lavender, single-wick Fresh Mint and got the smaller single-wink Sage Citrus at half off. So far I've tried the Fresh Mint and the Lemon Lavender......the 2-wick candles have a much stronger (not overwhelming) scent than the single wick candles, and I was told they lasted about 100 hours. The Fresh Mint was still fragrant, but at a more moderate level....still smelled nice though and really freshens up the bathroom. Unfortunately, I wanted a 3-wick candle for a larger spaced room, but it seems they don't carry these. Now that I've learned more about scented candles it'll just be a matter of finding the right scent. Will definitely be back to check out the other scented candles at Yankee's once the ones I've bought have run out. read more

A relatively new addition to the Irvine Spectrum. The first thing you notice when you enter the store is the different aromas coming from the candles. It is really bad sign if you walk into a candle store and smell nothing. The store has an excellent selection of scents, including a good variety of holiday scents, and some nice container for the candles. It has a very open layout, walking around the store is very easy even with a crowd inside. The workers are very friendly and you are greeted when you enter the store. My dog has discovered this location has a water bowl and the workers have dog treats, so he instinctively stops at this location whenever we are at Spectrum. read more

First of all, I don't even like candles and I spent an hour in here. My friend and co-worker is a big fan of Yankee, so that's the only reason I even know the name. So when I heard a Yankee store had opened at the Spectrum, I had to go see it for myself. Now I expected to walk in there, take a quick look around like you would with any other store that you're not that interested in, and then leave, right? Wrong! I was in here for an hour with my friend, and I think we went around and smelled every single candle in the store. You would think the smell would be overpowering, but the store just smelled fresh and kind of nice, but nothing that overwhelmed you. And the staff was amazing. They were so helpful, with tips on how to set up the candles and melting things (forgot what they were called) for the best aroma and ambiance, and even certain combinations of smells. Did you know you could mix candle scents? Yeah, I didn't either! But they were really great, and when we mentioned we were thinking of buying things for Christmas, she actually suggested we stop by next week when they were having some sort of event and candles would be discounted. Now that is excellent service. Thus far I have not purchased anything yet, but I know Yankee candles are expensive. But like I always say, you get what you pay for, and Yankee candles do have much better quality than your regular, cheaper candles.
