I visited Yann Couvreur Pâtisserie today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The place seemed severely understaffed, with only two waiters handling the entire restaurant. We waited quite a while before anyone came to our table, and even after that, every time we needed something, it took a long time to get assistance. We started with coffee, which was fine, but the service continued to be very slow. When my husband ordered the chicken burger with fries, we waited nearly 30 minutes, only to be told afterward that they had run out of fries. That was extremely frustrating, especially after such a long wait. The waiter did try to make up for it by offering us some desserts on the house, which was appreciated, but it didn't make up for the overall experience. Going out to eat should be enjoyable and relaxing, not a situation where you constantly have to chase down your server. The food I tried was okay, but the service and lack of organization really took away from the experience. It seems like management needs improvement. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

Just got finished with a show at the Mana convention center and stopped in to this French coffee shop and had a coffee. Watched the baker making everything from scratch. Items Order: 9/10 Parisan Flan $10 - Not like your regular flan. This pastry was more dense for the flan part and the shell was like croissant flakiness. What a cute cafe in Wynwood. Easy to find and full of seating for party of all sizes. I was seated next to a mother-daughter duo and it was the cutest thing because I think they were also visiting like myself lol. I got an iced latte with almond milk, salmon Florentine, and this pistachio tart - portions were on the 'smaller' side... Which is subjective, but this was the perfect size for me because since that day was dedicated to food tourism, I wanted to save room for other things I was planning to eat around town lol. It used to be much better. We were a party of 6 for brunch on a Sunday, arriving with a reservation requested months in advance. The cafe was short-staffed, and service was correct yet very slow and unresponsive. Croissant sandwiches were on display but not available to order. Our waiter told us that they had no croissants or baguettes that morning, which is quite surprising for a French cafe. As baguette and butter was not available, we order the vienoisserie basket. Our waiter told us it would come with apricot jam, but it came with strawberry jam instead, no explanations offered. While we were there it appeared they had a tea party for kids and a cooking class for them. If you are looking for something for a special occassion then give them a call to see what's available. Amazing lunch here, had the tuna melt with a baby salad. Brioche was spectacular and the dressing on the greens was perfect. I had rose because they were sadly out of prosecco but that was the only thing "wrong" about the experience. We were in no rush so it wasn't an issue but I'd say if you're pressed for time, you may want to mention it from the beginning for more efficient service. I ordered a hot chocolate, a breakfast sandwich (LOOOVED) and a French Toast (to try/share). My cousin ordered the Avocado Toast. To go, we ordered some of the pastries to try. The breakfast sandwich was a win for me. The french toast, not as memorable. Overall, there's plenty of bakery items I'd like to come back and try to find my go-to. The vanilla and caramel brioche was quite good. Like with all things french, there are things that can be on the meh side, and some that can be exceptional. Place is tastefully designed/decorated with high-end finishes - it's an understated, but luxe mid-century meets art deco Miami style, with a dash of Parisian flair. There's inside and outside sitting, but inside sitting is limited. On day I went they were short-staffed with only one waiter, so everyone was pulling double duties, including the hostess, for whom we had to wait a while as she was folding cutlery into napkins in the back of the house, and couldn't see me waiting. When she eventually came, she was nice and accommodating - Sat us down inside and we reviewed the menu and settled on our dishes. After about 20 minutes of waiting for anyone to come take our order, I flagged hostess down and that's when we found out there was only the one waiter; however, she told him and he came right away - all the while I expected he'd give us an attitude for having to call him out, but nope, he was nice and proper, devoid of any attitude. I ordered the $19 Tuna Melt after debating between it and the omelette - the melt had a few ingredients I wasn't keen on that I had him remove. I also ordered my quintessential latte. My guest had the $24 Turkey Club sandwich, plus avocado and turkey for a grand total of $28 (a bit much for a sandwich if you ask me). We both opted for the hash browns (a complete must - they are delicious). A while later the food arrived. My tuna melt had a nice appearance; However, besides having a 'fishy' flavor (my friend confirmed), the bread-to-tuna filling ratio was completely disproportionate, with a thin spread of the tuna salad and two VERY thick slices of bread. Worse yet, the bread slices, being very thick, were a bit hard/toasty outside, but soggy/stale inside, and biting into it, would make the little tuna salad in the sandwich squeeze out of it like mayo. All that, combined with fact that tuna had been fashioned with lots of minced cucumber pieces (there was no mention of it on the menu - and I asked about the usuals like onions and celery as I don't like a crunch in my tuna salad, and was told none of those were present) made it very unenjoyable for me. I called the waiter and advised I didn't like the sandwich, so I asked for the omelette instead. I requested for it to be cooked very soft (normally I say barely cooked so that it actually comes out soft - else if I say soft, it will usually not only not be soft, but a fully cooked hard disc I can't eat - few places know how to properly cook eggs). Anywho, since I had eaten about a 1/3 of the Melt when I realized I wouldn't enjoy my meal if I continued. in not trying to seem like I was gunning for a free entree, I told waiter he could just add the omelette and didn't have to remove the Melt from the check. However, when a customer sends a dish back saying he CAN'T eat it because he didn't like it, it's customary for the dish to be removed from the check in any fine establishment (that wasn't the case - I ended up paying for it). By this point they seemed concerned about my instructions for the omelette and having sent the Melt back, so the chef came out to table minutes later asking to confirm omelette instructions - so I reiterated. Omelette came out not too long after, and while it looked good, it was definitely a little more cooked than I would have liked - I think that's bc in an effort to make it most appealing, the gratined the cheese on top, and that cooked it even more. It still wasn't bad. The LATTE was GREAT with rich and smooth flavor, just a little on the colder side - I'm guessing they didn't warm the ceramic cup before pouring the latte in it. My friend said her Turkey Club sandwich was 'just OK'. Not OK for the cost. For DESSERT we opted for the Mille-Feuille Experience, and while it's cool seeing it being crafted in front of you, the experience is the only part worth the $20. Unfortunately, the pastry itself had a flavor that was too subtle at best, and the Feuilles (sheets) tasted a bit stale and ever so mildly rancid. I'm sure others might disagree with me. Service was great - Idk if this is standard, but a couple of times during the dining experience, they brought us complimentary madeleine pastries that were freshly baked (pulled right out from oven tray in front of us) and delicious. All and all, the staff was VERY accommodating and genuinely wanted to please while ambiance was refined. Because of this, the coffee and the hash browns, is why I'm giving this place a 4. read more

This upscale Café is definitely a treat! It has a high-end and upscale feel, and the pastries were beautiful as well. The price point is also definitely on the higher side. We enjoyed one of the chocolate lava cakes, which was absolutely delicious, and I loved the buttery shortbread on top as well as the caramel. It was very decadent and enough for two people, probably too much for one person alone. We started with a latte, which was one of the best we've ever had! Our biggest problem was with the menu descriptions. Although our food was good, it was not at all what we were expecting. I ordered the fluffy omelette "Toasted brioche, fluffy omelette, secret sauce, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese". It came out as an egg sandwich. It was still very tasty and i loved the sauce but a little overpriced. My friend ordered the Oeuf À La Coque "Served with finger brioche toast soft boiled on the shell (two)". It was two soft boiled eggs in the shell and came with small toasts to dip. It's not very filling and a little hard to eat but the actual flavors were very good. When I left i ordered a slice of the chocolate pound cake to go. I liked the frosting on top, but the actual cake part wasn't too exciting. The ambience in this Wynwood one is nice and decor is very upscale. I was so excited about all the tarts they had so I chose the Isatis Tart. One spoonful and I wanted to gag. It tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time. I kept eating it to get to the middle to really taste the flavor but nope, the whole tart tasted stale and fridge like. For $12 I would expect the freshest and most delicious dessert. What a bummer. I don't recommend this place at all. I experienced the flagship Yann Couvreur Café opening last Saturday in Wynwood, and it was unbelievable! We had a unique table-side experience with Peas Lettuce Caesar that, thank goodness, didn't taste like typical Caesar. The peas added such a fresh note, the pickled onion didn't have a strong smell, which I don't like in onions, and the dressing was really light. We added crispy chicken, and it was really nice and not greasy. The Croc Pastrami & Cheddar was a bit small, but it had a looot of meat and cheddar sauce. I also tried the fluffy omelet sandwich; the brioche bun was very soft, and I liked the 'secret sauce', although I would remove pickles and caramelized onions. You can't visit this place without ordering the table-side Mille-Feuille, which I got lucky to try made by Yann Couvreur himself. It's a heaven match of thinly sliced caramelized Kouign Aman layered with blue vanilla cream and sea salt caramel, all topped with vanilla bean powder and icing sugar. Also, Crème Brûlée à la Vanille was magical. Very delicate custard cream with thousands of vanilla bean seeds and a burnt caramel crust. The service was the best I had in Miami; everyone was really attentive, always smiling, asking for your opinion, offering help with choosing, and guiding you through the menu. I loved the interior with its natural materials and abundance of light. The attention to detail is mind-blowing: the plates are branded, the napkin rings, and the menus are just beautiful. And the soap in the restroom smells like expensive perfume, and now I want to buy it, seriously. I had an absolutely wonderful experience and will be back many more times. read more

Went today for some french soft-scrambled eggs based off of the recommendation of an Instagrammer. Worst decision I've made in a long time. First-the location is beautiful. It's on a corner in Wynwood and the aesthetics are on point. That's where the good things end. We were seated and found that the eggs they'd like to be famous for at $16.50. For three. Again, $16.50 for three eggs only. But that's what I was there for, so I went ahead with the order. We also added an order of French toast ($16) and an order of beef bacon ($9). I wanted a baguette but was told they weren't available today (a French patisserie with no baguettes?!? Wild lol). The eggs came out and were not scrambled soft like they should be and had NO flavor at all. The French toast came out cold. The bacon never came at all. And our server made it much worst by being generally disinterested in our food, the delivery of such, and whether or not we were enjoying our experience at all. 20 minutes and $55 later, we left grossly underwhelmed and went off to find good breakfast elsewhere. A few suggestions for the space- put your drink options on the menu and hire staff that understands the important of good customer interaction. Even though the food was overpriced and tragic, a good server would have definitely saved this review and rating. Oh, and for the potential customers reading this-never listen to IG and TikTok influencers. They have NO idea what good food is and are also likely paid by the restaurant to promote the mediocrity. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon - we had opted to share a dessert at the cafe after our yummy lunch at another place nearby. The manager was charmed with us and gifted us some extra pastries.
