The burger was undercooked and they charge 20% gratuity as a "service fee" for even just a party of 2. I wanted to really love this place. It had almost a 5 star rating on Google and yelp and we were already walking around Wynwood, so we gave it a shot. It's very small inside so we're glad we were able to get a table but service is slow as many others have mentioned. I didn't mind very much, everyone was very very nice. The interior is beautiful, I loved the painted cafeteras hanging from the ceiling and the beautiful cigar area was a nice touch! However, my son and I split a burger and it was not only very undercooked (we ate it anyway and dreading that decision) but it was a tiny piece of meat for the amount of bread. I mean I should know better than to order a burger at a Cuban restaurant but their dish options were already very limited and feeding a 9 year old boy, well burger it is. We also got the ham croquettes. Not sure if I got the wrong ones but they tasted more of cheese than any ham. I'm going to assume they gave me the wrong croquettes but it was mostly cheese and while a good flavor, not at all what I expected. Not to mention, for just the 2 of us they add a 20% gratuity that isn't mentioned at first and hardly assumed for a party of 2. But, that's Miami for ya! For the kindness of the servers, I'd give 5 stars but because the food was not what I expected at all, it's 3 stars for us. read more

We stumbled upon the restaurant while looking for lunch in graffiti district in Miami. Nice ambiance, loved the cigar display. I had Cuban sandwich for lunch, and I was not impressed. Lots of bread, especially compared to the small amount of meat. Also, the flavor was just not there - I expect a lot more pickles in my Cuban sandwich. Everything about the food was pretty on point, and the presentation was the biggest highlight, but the price was simply too high to justify the portions of a lot of dishes, which is why I have decided to give this establishment a 4 instead of 5 stars, but if one doesn't mind the price, then I think this spot is worth a visit and even repeated visits. For the ropa vieja, the beef was very tender since it was slow-cooked for 5 hours, and the tomato sauce offered a good flavor addition. I added black beans to the dish as well which I would highly recommend for others to do the same. My partner had the day's catch and was offered a piece of fish which was pretty delicious, but for $30 it was a bit too much. The picadillo a la habanera had good criolla sauce, which defined the flavor of the dish. We ordered a flan and an arroz con leche as well, and both desserts were tasty and decorated beautifully, especially the golden sugar crust on the arroz con leche, which almost resembled the crème brûlée sugar top. In terms of drinks, the piña colada didn't taste like an alcoholic drink, which could be a hit or miss depending on who's having it. The guava juice tasted very fresh, which subsequently made it not very sweet, which we were more than okay with. I also felt like the instructions for water were not very clear, because it seemed like my partner was led on to believe that still water was free, but we were charged $14 for it at the end. There was also a 20% service fee which I clarified with the waiter that it didn't count as tip. However, the suggested gratuity was roughly 7% to 12% based on the bill. All this information is simply to keep other customers aware. The food was still pretty on point above all else. read more

Enjoyed a coffee pick me up here, with all our beverages absolutely fantastic (and rather indulgent). We really enjoyed the traditional wheat milkshake (Batido De Trigo), which tasted like an elevated cereal milk!! It was lovely sitting outside, and we didn't feel rushed. I needed a coffee that was close to my hotel in Wynwood... took a walk and landed upon La Colada. Ended up getting a strong AF coffee, delicious empanada, and a cigar for the mister. lol. That's right. They have cigars here. This was truly an epic experience. I would have stayed longer if I had had more time in my morning to do so. I would have had a full blown breakfast. Lol. But instead, I did get a chicken empanada which was packed with delicious shredded chicken, marinated in a tomato based seasoning (it tasted like). And my latte which I got with oat milk definitely hit the spot. It was bold and strong like a Cuban. ;) love that their coffee beans are Cuban!!!! Miry and Maylin are the ones that kept us fed and entertained. Loved their energy. And I love the way the restaurant is decorated where it gives a tropical, Cuban feel, right in Wynwood!!!! Five stars just for a Cafecito? If we're talking about colada gourmet in Wynwood, yes! My lady I stopped by a couple of weekends back during our Wynwood staycation. Between walking around looking at the art and a long fun club night, i certainly needed an extra boost. The Cafecito was well presented and definitely nice and strong. The five stars come because the owner who happen to be in the store, took time out to tell us about his two locations and how the Wynwood store has wine, pairing dinners regularly. This place was super close to our hotel and I wanted to eat Cuban food before I left Miami. This place is adorable and we got seated right away. Started with the chorizo croquettes. These were my absolute favorite thing I ate. Full of flavor and perfection. We also got the ropa vieja empanadas. They were good too. We split the Cuban sandwich and it was exactly as it should be. About halfway through our meal they seated the table next to us. The place is small but the tables were so close that when the server came over to talk to them her butt cheeks were on our table and on my utensils. That is too close in my opinion. Thankfully at that point we were eating the sandwich and I was not using my utensils. I will say that the server at our table was friendly and attentive. I went to both locations and loved them both. Outstanding service, family ran, best coffee and food. I can't say enough about La Colada. The space is a work of art, bright, vibrant colors and lively. We had the pleasure of meeting and the owner at both locations. The Wynwood location was the first stop of my solo date and I'm so happy I found them. I started with the tres leches that is made up of condensed milk, espresso, your choice of milk and whipped cream. Even though it has condensed milk it wasn't overly sweet and a delicious take on cafe con leche. They roast their own coffee beans so it was potent but good flavor. They have a few different variations for coffee which I like to see. I ordered the tostones for my appetizer and it is served cut up with a side of cilantro sauce. I didn't even need the sauce because it was tasty just like that. For my entree, I tried the Le Bistek which is their version of the pan con bistec and it comes melted Swiss cheese and onions and a side of fries. Everything is made fresh and I have zero complaints. The staff is nice and welcoming so while I was sitting at the bar we talked while I sipped my drink. They are blasting salsa music which made me want to get up and dance in the middle lol. It is not on the main street of Wynwood but it is about 5 minutes from all the action and definitely worth adding to your itinerary. read more

I cannot believe I've never heard of this place before. Tucked in a corner of Wynwood, La Colada offers incredibly delicious bites with a great atmosphere and fresh coffee. Service was GREAT. I spent some time there on my computer working and was very well taken care of. Outlets are few but accessible. I didn't try any of their main dishes, but their croquetas and empanada were probably one of the best I've ever had. read more

I was recently a La Colada Gourmet in Wynwood for the first time and I enjoyed everything. What I most liked was the service, they made me feel like I was at home. The decoration is pretty cool, specially the espresso coffeemakers they use as chandeliers, it's kind of unique. The food, I give it 4 stars. My favorite were the tostones. For the coffee, I had the affogato. That vanilla ice cream perfectly balance the ice cream, it was so good. A Mexican chef could be the reason why the food was not tasted Cuban, but instead, it was spiced with too much oregano that spoiled the "congris". The "Ropa Vieja" was also crappy stuff. The ambience is cool, but the decoration is not what you eat for $190 dollars. Only two persons , no drinks, and they charged a gratuity fee of $30 dollars. Had a great time sitting outside in the lovely mural rich Wynwoos with our dogs so great they were so pet-friendly. The food was great and I enjoy they're refined and deliciously detailed plates and carefully crafted coffee drinks - and tea (my personal preference I need to add sugar)! La Colada Gourmet is an iconic family owned Little Havana coffee shop that opened in 2006. They are known as The House of Cuban Coffee specializing in Cuban classics with a twist. The coffee is roasted daily Cuban style and the menu includes cortadito, cafecito, café con leche, and frappuccino inspired drinks. La Colada Gourmet recently expanded to trendy Wynwood. I stopped by for an afternoon pick me up after it was recommended to me by my friend Rachel M. who is never wrong about something I would like. In keeping with Wynwood's arts vibe, La Colada is in a mural covered building. Parking is pay by app on the street if you can find it. I had to walk a couple of blocks but the weather was beautiful. The inside is small but I lucked out with a table. The cool, artistic vibe of the dining room is overflowing with charm. Some of the highlights are the cigar room, a fun coffeepot light fixture, rustic wooden tables and chairs, and lots of natural light from the large windows. The bright and welcoming room invites lingering over a cup of delicious coffee with friends. The service was friendly and prompt. La Colada Gourmet offers daily specials which included a ropa vieja and rabo encendido but I was in more of a sweet brunch mood. I had my heart set on the tropical toast, their take on French Toast made with a seared vanilla brioche bun served with pineapple brûlée, guava jam, and a to die for roasted coffee infused syrup. It was as incredible as it sounds. To accompany the delicious food I ordered a Tres Leches Coffee, espresso with two different milks topped with cream and cookie crumble. It was served with a vanilla wafer cookie. You can have it hot or iced as I did. It is very sweet, like a dessert in a cup with a caffeine punch. Other dishes on the menu include eggs, black bean soup, avocado toast, croquettes, empanadas, a Cuban sandwich, and more. They also have traditional Cuban desserts like arroz con leche panna cotta, and flan. The flaky pastelitos looked especially good. In a cute touch, my check was delivered in a cigar box. Note that am 18 percent gratuity is already included. Food and drinks are not inexpensive here but I regret nothing. If you are in the mood for inventive Cuban food and coffee head on over to La Colada Gourmet where you will not be disappointed. This Cuban restaurant is located on a corner with a beautiful atmosphere and charming decorations that celebrate the culture of cafeterias and coffee, everywhere you look, there's something warm and inviting. The biggest surprise for me was the arroz con leche. I've never been a fan of it, but theirs completely won me over....now I'm back to liking it!! Visited Miami last week for the first time and stumbled upon this spot. The server was great and they were able to accommodate our larger party ( that included kids) despite the Resturant being rather small. The coffees came out pretty quickly and were really great, the perfect amount of sweetness. The food came out right after and while it was fresh and sizable, the flavor was a bit different than expected. This sandwich came with your typical Cuban filling except it has sweet pickles rather than savory, which we were not expecting. The sandwich also came with some sort of sauce, however it was such a tiny amount and really added nothing to the dish. The fries on the other hand were perfectly crispy. We also ordered tostones which were light and crispy and came with a tiny portion of sauce that was really lacking flavor. Overall, I think the Resturant is subpar.
