Basic Chinese take out but solid. Cheap and filling. In the food court of a tiny mall, so it's very casual.

Came here with my family and there were 6 of us and a child. For lunch, we got the Chinese broccoli…read morewith oyster sauce, special fried rice, thick fried noodles with beef, salt and pepper squid, chicken and vegetables with black bean sauce, and medium hot and sour soup. First off, the spot has plenty of parking for restaurant goers only (90 min) and the staff was all really nice and efficient. For the food, as someone who has eaten a lot of Chinese food, I thought everything was delicious and authentic! I read on a previous saying the food wasn't oily at all and I'd have to agree with that. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you're craving Chinese food! Perfect for a family style meal to share and the amount we got was perfect to keep a party of 6 adults content for lunch. - Okanagan pear cider: 10/10 I loved this! So light and refreshing - Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce: 7/10 solid dish - Salt and pepper squid: 10/10, great flavor! Would recommend for sure - Special fried rice: 6/10, on the bland side BUT pairs really well if you're getting protein only dishes I.e the salt and pepper squid we got! I'd prefer this over white rice - Fried thick noodles: 9/10 good flavor and good oil level! - Chicken with vegetables (and black bean sauce requested): 6.5/10 it was good but mixed reviews at our table - Hot and sour soup: 6/10, could have a little more flavor but was good enough for our craving! Overall, id definitely come back here for Chinese food if I'm ever in Banff again

ummmmm probably would have never thought to come try this place but we really wanted chinese food!…read morewhat a pleasant surprise! service was excellent and all the food we ordered were also excellent! it is important to note that none of the dishes were oily. tomato and eggs were really good very tasty and such a classic dish! perfect sweet and salty balance! pot stickers were obviously home made - so plump and the wrappers are very thin. hot and sour soup was excellent and perfection with added white pepper! string beans were made very well - super tender and not fibrous! fried rice tho lack wok hay but it was perfect to compliment all of our dishes! we ordered this fillet fish with ginger in a stone pot too but i forgot to take a pic! anyway, id say this place is way better than many chinese restaurants here in bay area!

Went somewhere else for Bao Buns because they had more reviews and wished I had not. Next time we will eat out entire meal here! Atmosphere great with some outdoor seating.

By the time we were ready, it took a while to find someone to take our order. The most wanted item is sold out, a fact that they told us upon ordering. Will be appreciated if we know ahead of time so we have more time to consider 'back up item'. There was a table beside us (came after us) who also discussed about ordering same sold-out items, and I was very tempted to tell them that it's sold out. But I figure it's not my place to say because the restaurant must have its own reason for NOT telling this upfront!!?????!! Ordered pork belly skewer , shiitake skewer, shrimp in spicy peanut sauce, and aburi salmon handroll, miso creme brulee. Best items are the shrimp with spicy peanut sauce, and miso creme brulee. Just wow!! For the rest: -If u have eaten shiitake before (at home for example) , u know nothing can go wrong with shiitake as it's already flavorful in its own (safe choice). -Pork belly has good flavor but kinda too fatty (it is a totally different style from the one I usually eat at other places). -Aburi salmon handroll doesnt taste like aburi at all. Just normal handroll basically. Nth special. It was my friend's birthday, we asked if they hv noodle (considering we were farrr from home) and they said it's only available during lunch (which is understandable), but then nth else was done to help celebrate this moment when they hear this fact (simple smile or simple 'happy birthday' could be a gift in its own). Overall, food-wise, we agree on best item and that this place is kinda meh (in terms of food selection and feels like very few 'flavor-worthed' ones).

We eat a lot of Chinese food coming from NYC and NJ area. And honestly thought most of the items we had were pretty good. We had the pre-set menu for 6 people. And holy, the portion they gave us can feed at least 10! The flavor was still more westernized to my liking but nonetheless good. I wasn't a fan of thier fried chicken ball which tasted a bit odd. It was a piece of chicken that tasted bland that was coated in a thick layer of starch then deep fried. Not good. What was really good was the chicken fried rice, the beef noodles and the beef with vegetables. Way better than some of the Chinese take out places I'm used to in USA. The spring rolls and the fried shrimps were decent too but could use better dipping sauce on the side. The service was very friendly! The two waitresses were just lovely! Overall this is a great spot! I definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again if in the area again!!

I was seated where I am facing towards the kitchen. From there, I could see what the waitress is doing. So, as soon as we enter the restaurant, I already noticed the waitress wearing gloves (blue latex kind). I could tell that she has been wearing it for a while. (I work in the healthcare field and see people don gloves on a daily basis). The waitress is busy, since she was by herself, going from table to table, from kitchen to tables, serving them food, giving them plates, silverware, napkins, getting their payments, touching everything from door handles to pitchers to fill glasses with water, to cleaning the tables with rags - all while wearing the same pair of gloves. That is a serious infection control issue, especially because she is touching the plates containing the food which the customers eat. I hope she will practice glove and hand hygiene, since a lot of people come here.
