Basic Chinese take out but solid. Cheap and filling. In the food court of a tiny mall, so it's very casual.

They indicated as long as we were seated and ordered before 8:45pm, we would be ok so we headed up to the Silver Dragon. We ordered dumplings, fried rice, and an egg roll. The food came out quickly. There were two other tables finishing up so we didn't feel too rushed, although staff was clearly cleaning up to get ready to go home. We loved the rice and the dumplings were excellent. I wasn't as big a fan of the egg roll (loved the inside but didn't like the batter outside as much) but I liked the sauce that came with it. Portions were generous. The place was cutely decorated. Parking was easy but I could see parking being a bit of an issue on a really busy day. We were so grateful they could accommodate us so late. Hiking made us hungry!

While the food did take a while to prepare (we did have a party of 8 and the dishes were cooked to all come out at once), Sam did come and check in with us. My family and I spoke Cantonese with him and he made turned our experience waiting into an entertaining banter session. Food: 4/5 stars. Coming from Southern California and eating tons of Chinese/Cantonese dishes growing up, Silver Dragon's food is solid on the authentic end. They do have some dishes that cater to more western tastes, based on what we saw on the menu, but if you're looking for authentic Chinese food in Banff this place surprisingly fulfilled that craving! Only miss is if you're looking for authentic Cantonese soups you sadly will not find that here. - Sweet and sour pork aka kingdom pork: crowd favorite, sauce was sweet and tangy, pork was not overcooked - Yangzhou fried rice: least favorite of all dishes, no wok hei, would not recommend or reorder - Guangzhou chow mein: okay, noodles were crispy but nothing special - Mapo tofu: in my opinion good amount of mala flavor, could use a bit more bean curd but otherwise delicious, one of the night's favorite dishes - Baby bok choy: great garlic flavor, classic dish - Tofu seafood clay pot: nothing bad to say, seafood was cooked well - Preserved vegetable steamed pork patties: perfectly cooked pork, juicy and flavorful! Glad that they had this dish available on the menu :) Overall if I happen to come back to Banff 100 percent would come back with my family. My family and I had great time both eating the food and interacting with staff!

You'll need to walk downstairs to get in. It's an order-at-the-counter spot, and they bring the food to your table. They offer a variety of noodle dishes ranging from Thai and Japanese to Malaysian. I ordered the Thai tom yum noodle soup, and my husband got the beef soup. If you're looking for authentic Thai tom yum, this isn't it--it's more like tom yum broth with noodles added, which is different from traditional tom yum noodle soup. That said, it was still good enough for me. My husband thought the beef soup was just okay. The staff was nice and friendly. Overall, it's a solid and convenient stop, but not a must-visit for me.

Very friendly, very cozy, and food came out almost immediately since it was a late lunch time. Service was spot on. They have a good choice of food. Not the usual big serving, it was enough for one person and I like that it was not very salty and just enough seasoning/spice. The Ube croquetas was a good surprise, the Ube itself was almost tasteless but combined with the breaded coating made it hard to put down. The takoyaki was pleasantly good, came out immediately after it was cooked. I recommend that as well. A very good place to enjoy warm soup and what looked like a family owned business. Check them out!

It has to be below molten lava levels. The flavors are good to go. 9/10   * Shoyu Ramen (Ramen of the Day) - let's get the egg out of the way. Its a little overdone. But the whole this is really good. Noodles are bouncy, pork is tender and the broth is on point. 8.6/10 The setting is very nice. I ordered the salmon oyako don, it was generously portioned and absolutely delicious. We also shared a few small plates: agedashi tofu, scallops, chicken yakitori, and ended on a sweet note with a maple miso crème brûlée. My husband especially loved the bamboo and mushroom served with the scallops and was able to order it separately as an appetizer. Even during the busy Canada Day weekend, we were seated right away around 8 PM. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great dining experience in Banff, I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

I was seated where I am facing towards the kitchen. From there, I could see what the waitress is doing. So, as soon as we enter the restaurant, I already noticed the waitress wearing gloves (blue latex kind). I could tell that she has been wearing it for a while. (I work in the healthcare field and see people don gloves on a daily basis). The waitress is busy, since she was by herself, going from table to table, from kitchen to tables, serving them food, giving them plates, silverware, napkins, getting their payments, touching everything from door handles to pitchers to fill glasses with water, to cleaning the tables with rags - all while wearing the same pair of gloves. That is a serious infection control issue, especially because she is touching the plates containing the food which the customers eat. I hope she will practice glove and hand hygiene, since a lot of people come here.

We eat a lot of Chinese food coming from NYC and NJ area. And honestly thought most of the items we had were pretty good. We had the pre-set menu for 6 people. And holy, the portion they gave us can feed at least 10! The flavor was still more westernized to my liking but nonetheless good. I wasn't a fan of thier fried chicken ball which tasted a bit odd. It was a piece of chicken that tasted bland that was coated in a thick layer of starch then deep fried. Not good. What was really good was the chicken fried rice, the beef noodles and the beef with vegetables. Way better than some of the Chinese take out places I'm used to in USA. The spring rolls and the fried shrimps were decent too but could use better dipping sauce on the side. The service was very friendly! The two waitresses were just lovely! Overall this is a great spot! I definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again if in the area again!!
