After we had a major remodeling project completed we were left with a back yard that was rutted and torn up from contractor vehicles and equipment. We called Yard Boys for an estimate to repair the yard including clean up of the 3 trees (18 - 24" diameters) we had cut down but not removed, leveling the yard, providing proper drainage and installing sod. We provide them with our budget of $1,400 and asked what they could do. Our timeline was flexible and we did not need to get this done yesterday. They said they would cut up the tree stumps, remove them, level the ground providing the drainage channel we needed and install the grass. They would do this within our budget as long as our schedule remained open. About 2 weeks later they began work. Day 1: They cut up and cleared all the fallen trees. Day 2: Three days later, they brought in loam, leveled and tamped/rolled the area removing soil where needed to provide the proper drainage pitch and channel and removed a couple mounds of dirt and left-over concrete from the construction project. Day 3: Again a day or two later, they brought in sod and covered all the areas where they had leveled or otherwise removed existing grass. The yard looked a 100% better than it had since we started the remodeling and other than watering the area to get the sod growing we have a good backyard. We feel the Yard Boys went above and beyond their original proposal and we were not expecting it to look as good as it did. They even replaced a picket on our fence after accidentally breaking off a small section. Given the need for landscapers in the future we will definitely call Yard Boys and highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of landscaping service. One added benefit: The Yard Boys do not have employees who do not speak English or are illegal so communication, a problem with many other service providers, in not a problem. read more

I have been meaning to rate these guys since I have used them twice in recent months and they are terrific! Reasonably priced by the hour, not the job, which has worked out fine for me. I had several things besides just mowing (weeding flower beds, spraying hardscape for weeds, and pruning). They took care of everything even better than I expected. Not great at returning calls. Honest hard working crew. You get what you pay for. A little disappointed in how they left the yard/ fence/ driveway/ street when they were finished. Matt admitted to/ knew about one sprinkler system pipe they broke that he offered to come back and repair on Saturday. I had the sprinkler company coming out to add new heads/lines for the new trees so I told him I'd have them handle it. Turns out the main pipe to the back of the yard was also cut in two... $150 to repair. There is no warranty on his trees/ shrubs/ plants... but I didn't have to pay extra for it either. Yard Boys saved the day for us. Matt came out to our place on very short notice. He walked our yard and got back in touch with us on an estimate for a large amount of garden soil. He gave a very fair price. He stuck to his estimated budget, and he even decreased the price when he did not use as much materials as originally estimated. Yard Boys is an honest company that does great quality work. They communicate very well, and they have many ways to pay conveniently. Yard Boys were quick to come out and give us a quote for the sodding of our yard. When they came out, we agreed upon a date of service and I was told we would receive an email regarding the deposit. Several days before our scheduled sod date, I called to confirm they were coming and received no answer. I left multiple messages and, when my call was finally answered several days later, I found out that the business had in fact never documented that we would be receiving services and a much later date had been written in his personal calendar. They were lucky to be able to squeeze us in three days after our agreed upon date. Unfortunately due the failure to document the agreed upon services and the date snafoo, we had to cancel our vacation just to get our lawn sodded during the one week we were available. It was helpful that they squeezed us in a few days later, but we were downright furious that the scheduling failure and slow response to voicemail resulting in the cancellation of personal plans. We were pleased with the services, but very disappointed in the scheduling problems. read more
