We went here for a family members birthday last night. The host stand greeted us promptly and in a very friendly manner. Once seated, we were immediately helped and got drinks quickly. So far so good. We all ordered our food and that's where things went slightly down hill. It's a dark atmosphere so one of our party members couldn't read the menu... I asked about the street tacos and which one was recommended and couldn't get an answer. Moving on, we all got our food rather quickly. Unfortunately, there were poor reviews all the way around. I had the blackened fish taco a la cart and it had zero flavor... I also got the Vodka Shrimp Pasta and was incredibly disappointed. The vodka sauce was completely watered down and was very bland, one person got the garlic lobster noodles and did not enjoy it at all. Overall, the food was anything less than stellar. This place is more known for their beer and ambiance. I personally believe it's over priced for what it is. Yard House is a good restaurant. It is really great for groups, I think I've been with 10 or more person groups each time I've been there. But with all the smaller, more intimate, and specialized places around town, to me, it's not a great date night. With the groups I've gone with, it's been great. The beer selection is incredible and the food is good. I love their burgers. I've always had good service here as well. As others have said, the beer selection is the best reason to come here. Many are pricier, but it is still much better to get a beer here than at the Reds/Bengals games. The food is good, but of course because it's such a large, busy restaurant, it doesn't always come out perfectly (our food came a few minutes before silverware, cocktail took a while to come to the table, our fries weren't hot). However, our servers worked hard to make sure we had what we needed. I mistakenly thought my barbecue chicken salad was missing the chicken (it's actually just mixed in) before I got my silverware and when I asked my sever about it, she brought more chicken out for me. I visited with my son on Mon 7/23 before a Reds game. I expected more from the Yard House. It was absolutely overpriced. Tyler was our waiter. They were out of Coke Zero & spinach dip. We got our food from someone in the back, but our server didn't come back to check on us to see if we needed anything (which we did). I had to get up and find a manager to get us salt & pepper (not on the table?) and parmesan cheese for my son's pizza. I think Tyler just had way too many tables, to be honest, but he wasn't overly attentive at all. I would not recommend this restaurant or make a return visit. My wife and I were looking forward to a nice dinner. We did call ahead seating and when we arrived we were asked for our cell number for them to call us when it was our turn to be seated.We walked to the bar got a drink and the text came thru. Walked back to hostess stand and was told that we waited more than 5 minutes and we would be placed at the end of the line. I asked how long and was told 35 more minutes. I waited 40 minutes and returned to hostess stand. I was told we were next to be seated. 30 more minutes later I approached hostess stand again. I was told they were super busy and waiting for prom kids to leave the tables so they could be bused. My wife spoke to a mgr and was brought to a table. We ordered an appetizer chicken nachos, it consisted of beans, cheese, red & green sauce, tomato, cilantro, onions, guacamole, sour cream.We did not find any chicken at all.I would not eat this again. Next entrees were pineapple chicken that was overcooked and dried out with a sauce that was so bad my wife didn't eat it after 2 bites total.my overpriced steak was supposed to be med well and was so under cooked that I would not have fed it to anyone.The service was not friendly. I'll be honest, Yard House isn't a place at the top of my list of options for downtown/banks dining-the menu is huge, the place is huge, the have a million beers, and it's loud and a chain. HOWEVER because of most of these things, it does make a desirable option for groups, to get a table quickly, and it has a nice view and outdoor option. That said, I've never had a bad experience. We ended up here inadvertently on a Saturday night after traipsing around OTR and downtown all day. We were seated nearly without a wait at 7pm and had friendly service, a manager even came by to apologize for a delay in our food coming out explaining that they had an issue in the kitchen that caused delays. No issue for us, but for those nearby attending the concert at PBS, it was. What gives them an extra star is that we were able to eat a Whole30 compliant meal here. It took a little effort and our server thought we were a little crazy(but was super nice and supportive), but him with a burger+guac and a side of steamed veggies (slightly undercooked) and me with the tuna steak sandwich and side salad. We've been here twice and have been very happy with our choice to come. It's a fun atmosphere with a very diverse crowd. There are lots of interesting drink choices. The food is good. The service is great. We love it. The only reason for no five stars is the price factor. It's fairly pricey for what it is. Other than that we love it. As a vegetarian, this place is one of my favorite restaurants to come to in Cincinnati. I LOVE the Gardein BBQ Chicken salad. My guy and I came in here so I could satisfy my craving tonight but they were out of Gardein!! Our server, Dawn was super nice as she explained the situation. The manager, Brain, apologized profusely and offered to buy the beer I'd already ordered. I truly appreciate the kindness, he didn't have to do that as I could've just ordered a salad or something else. The service is always stellar and the food never disappoints. My boyfriend and I have been to the one in Colorado and Virginia. Since we live in Ohio now, we have to try this one. We actually had a great experience here. Our waitress was pretty attentive, which is a good plus. We ordered our usual calamari and nachos on top of our drinks. The calamari was very tasty and crispy. The nachos was pretty dang good too. I've always been a big fan of Yard House. It's huge with extensive food and beverage options. Giant TV screens hang all throughout the restaurant so you can keep an eager eye on a important game or something to look at while you're trying to sit through a mind-numbing first date ;). My favorite thing to order here are the chicken nachos (super generous portions) and the BBQ chicken salad (this isn't a salad you want to order if you want a "healthy" salad - it's a salad you order that tastes really good so you convince yourself that it's a salad and therefore healthy). This place has been open for awhile so one more glowing review of Yardhouse probably won't make or break anyone's opinion. What spurred this review are the POKE NACHOS. Holy YUM. Fried wonton wrappers with ahi tuna, avocado, nori and some yummy sushi sauces layered on top... it's definitely something different and something I have been thinking about eating again even though I had it 3 days ago. All you good ol' Catholics who go wanna catch sports on a friday night - you should definitely check this dish out! There are also Yardhouse's deconstructed sushi rolls (tuna and california roll). The host/hostess people at Yard House are young and friendly and polite. The patio view is nice and there's plenty of seating. That's where the good of Yard House ends. The food isn't good and wayyyyy overpriced. Our server was almost annoyingly, aggressively in-your-face. She was far too pushy, she wanted you to order right away, she wanted you to eat fast, pay fast and get the hell out. Sorry, but when I'm paying almost $20 bucks for a lousy lunch salad, I don't want to be treated like I'm at Shoney's. I can't even barely muster up enough enthusiasm to write even a bad review of this place. Overly large, discombobulated menu. Dreary, gray, tomblike ambience. I ordered the skirt steak Cobb salad, ended up being served the skirt steak salad. It had weird potato chips mixed in the salad, and some disgusting brown, warm, deep-fried hard boiled egg. Ugh. It's been a long, loooooooong time since I have walked out of a restaurant with plans to go back as soon as I possibly can. But such is the allure of the Yard House. The wife and I were so impressed with our debut visit that the whole journey home we were thinking of all the friends we could go there with, how often we could realistically go there and how long it might take us to work our way through all the delicious sounding choices on the marvelously eclectic and varied food menu. In short, we were "raving". Now, let it be known boys & girls that it takes a LOT to make me rave about a place, but as far as I am concerned Yard House gets it 100% right. The decor is lovely, the ambience just right, the tableware & cutlery both scream quality, the staff very evidently happy & friendly, the service impeccable (thank you Megan!) and the food top notch stuff. (Oh, and cleverly designed and well maintained bathrooms for bonus plus points) We visited on a late weekday afternoon, an hour or so before what I imagine would be their post-working day rush. As such we were in Happy Hour territory and let me tell you that it is a mighty fine territory to be in! Drinks were discounted, but better was that many of their tasty appetizers were all half off, making them terrific value for money. We tried some of the half-off items and mixed & matched them with some regular priced bar snacks and a couple of drinks. The chilled edamame was a tasty treat, the skinny truffle fries heavenly and the tomato bisque soup some of the best I have ever tasted away from a family kitchen. The missus chose the Mushroom Lettuce Wraps (from the VERY extensive range of vegetarian choices, kudos to the chain for offering them all) whilst I opted for the Chicken Garlic Noodles. Both very tasty and representing good bang for your buck regardless of whether it's happy hour or not. Including tip and taxes we spent just $30. There are so many more menu items we want to try out, as well as some of the brews from what is a VERY extensive beer list. It's a personal opinion but I think the Yard House has everything else at the Banks beat for giving the public what they deserve from a restaurant. Can you tell that I am excited that it's there? While our server was overly friendly and engaging, that wasn't enough to win me over. Maybe it is because of our server's friendliness that everything else seemed so mediocre. Drink refills took a minimum of 10 minutes from when we were told they would be coming. Food was not well composed. My bottom bun was so soggy I would say it was wet. Nothing on my plate could have made it that wet. The avocado in my friend's salad was brown. Most plates looked kind of sloppy. Flavor wise, the food was okay. Nothing really popped. Yard House is the kind of place you can bring kids, picky eaters, vegetarians, gluten free people, the whole lot of them. I perused the menu trying to determine what might be their specialty or something that might be impossible to mess up. I couldn't seem to find anything that jumped out to me as a special. For an appetizer, we tried the coconut shrimp. The shrimp itself was actually pretty good, they were huge butterflied shrimp (3 of them-for 13$...) But they were not very coconut-y. They came with a slaw type of thing under the shrimp and 2 sauces, the sauces were good, slaw was unnecessary. For dinner, I had 2 a la cart tacos. I tried the Korean Beef, not bad, but not very flavorful; and the volcano taco. This thing is pretty hard to describe, but to start, the tortilla itself was covered in melted/crispy cheese, it had lot of stuff inside which all together tasted pretty good, lots of guacamole and the meat and bacon flavors were prevalent. You can get any taco "volcano" style, but I probably wouldn't. My boyfriend got the bacon bbq burger, now that is something they do well! The bacon was crispy, the burger cooked right (they asked how he wanted it) and great skinny crispy fries, and lots of them! The beer selection is large, but there are really none to speak of, hardly any local faves or rare or special beers and the waitresses are not really interested in helping you make a selection. Sitting near the kitchen, its kind of disturbing how big it is, and thinking back to working in food service, I can imagine all the prep that goes in to serving this size menu nightly. I can also imagine the foods that must be made ahead of time just to keep up with the demand of the size of this place, not a good thought. Yard House...long story short...they have a huge selection of mediocre beer and mediocre food. Others have already commented on the swank decor, friendly vibe, great views, and excellent selection of beer, but I want to point out that the number of vegetarian dishes that Yard House offers is impressive. If you are tired of having to eat a veggie burger every time you go out, you are in for a treat. Yard House features about 15 different selections made with Gardein, a plant-based food with a "meaty" texture. There are BBQ "wings," "chicken" strips, several "chicken" stir fry choices, sliders and more. If fake meat isn't your thing, there are several mushroom-based items that are astonishingly good. Highly recommended are the lettuce wraps and street tacos. During happy hour (Mon-Fri 3-6 p.m.) many of their appetizers are half price, including the aforementioned lettuce wraps, "wings" and "sliders." Their vegetarian-friendly Margherita pizza - also discounted during happy hour - is twelve inches of bliss. Another nice touch: Yard House denotes all vegetarian dishes with an easy to see green "V," and all items under 600 calories with a gray "U." This place gets is right on so many levels. read more

I suggested Yard House for happy hour with friends on a Friday afternoon/evening. I'd heard great things about the place from a friend who comes quite often so I figured it would be an easy location. First, I have been very vocal on Yelp about my disdain for The Banks. Parking is so challenging and places aren't that great. Yard House may be my exception (except parking still sucks). The service is very friendly, from the greeters, to the servers, everyone was really nice. The menu is gigantic, everyone in a group will be able to find something on the expansive menu. The happy hour menu is just a small little section with a few moderately-priced items. I didn't think there was a very good deal in ordering from that menu but there were good options. I ordered deviled eggs for an appetizer and chicken tenders and fries for more a "meal". My deviled eggs were made incorrectly but the server was cool about fixing them. My chicken tenders were left in the fryer a little too long, and everyone at the table who had fries agreed they were not hot but borderline cold/warm temperature. I wouldn't be opposed to trying Yard House again, especially in the summer when they have the great patio open. read more

Great place for a business lunch. Expansive dining room with a giant bar area serving a hundred or so draft beers. Service is always good here. Greet you with smile, they remember to fill your empty water/drink glasses without asking, etc. And the Food menu has a lot of variety and has been consistently good. My only criticisms of this place - while there is a ton of variety, the beer is expensive here. AWESOME BAR, our new favorite location for after work drinks. Ive been putting off writing this review but our second visit was even better than the first time which was after a reds game. Went for the first time with a group and had a great time. Service greets you at the door (first sign of a good restaurant) didn't think we were going to get sat right away but they took us and we were looking at menu's in under a min and boy did we need the time as the menu is friggen huge. Indecisive people beware, you might end up orderings few things if you an't make up your mind. Props go to manager (guy in white shirt) I can't remember his name for the life of me but the guy knew his beers and actually picked out 2 new beers that might be my new favorites. Ill admit that service here was a little sketchy when I first came here but maybe I just had a bad waiter (john s i think) who had a bad attitude when we asked about different beers but maybe the dude was just having a bad day. I know this place started off a little understaffed but they really did redeem themselves in my eyes. Also shout out to (Anna-Marrie Thery) for keeping the refills coming and being so patient with our slow ordering ha ha. I made sure to write down her name down because this girl deserve accolades for being so quick. I had refills before I even asked for them and she went as far as to bring me out a free sample of a beer that I was teetering on (I LOVED IT), was called two heart ale. As for the food, wow. We were just in time for happy hour so we loaded up a few appetizers (calamari is the best around) and I ended up getting the fish (best fish ive had this side of the ohio. Would have liked to have tried the desert but I was too full of good beer and food at that point to fit it in :) I think the atmosphere here is my favorite thing above all else. It's casual enough to just walk in wearing any attire yet the crowd here isn't crusty like some local dive. You're surrounded the stadiums and an awesome view of the bridge and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Food is always so-so. I'm my opinion their menu is much too large. I do enjoy their Ahi Tuna Salad and the Truffle Fries, but consistently off with their output. As in there is either too much seasoning, too little of the main ingredient, etc. When I do try something new, I'm left unsatisfied with a hefty bill. They aren't trying to be the best meal you've ever had, so don't go expecting that. But do go expecting good food, prepared well, and served timely no matter how busy they are. The portions are generally large. The Pot Pie... OMG it's huge. The wife loved the soups there, I loved everything. I really enjoyed Yard House during my stay in Cincinnati. So I revisited Yard House last night (Saturday Night) around 5pm and felt the need to update my review. My first time visiting Yard House was terrible (bad customer service, bad wait time, just horrible). However, last night was a complete turn around. First, we got right in which I thought we were going to have to wait but we got right in. Right away when our sever (Rocky) came to the table, I knew this experience was going to be different. He was super friendly and more importantly didn't push things on us that we didn't really want. He explained the menu like four different times at different parts of the meal- He explained the menu language to us (like different sauces or seasonings) to well that our mouths were watering before we even ordered. I ended up getting the roast beef dip and my boyfriend got a burger- He suggested that we try the truffle fries- WOW is all I can say. I am usually a ranch dipper with my fries but I didn't even need to. They have this garlic/parmesan seasoning on them- Most amazing fries of my freaking life. We also tried the Moo Shu egg roles- Yum! I really can't say enough about our waiter- He was definitely the game changer from our past experience. I had a VERY bad experience last night at Yard House that made me NEVER want to return to such a business again. No one wants to feel like they are being nickle and dimed while out to dinner, however that is EXACTLY how I felt last night. After going to a baseball game in Cincinnati, I suggested to our group that we head to Yard House for some late night snacks before headed home because we were all hungry, and I have always enjoyed going to Yard Hose in the past. As a reward for coming to spend over $100 as a group at a place that we all know is in the premium pricing range, we were treated with little respect, which in the age of the consumer makes no sense to me. First our waitress took it upon herself to add up charges to our al la cart taco orders (the rice and beans which are GREATLY overpriced) without asking. As they were brought to the table and we mentioned that we did not desire the rice and beans, the food was then removed from the customer as she told her coworker to "take it back" not two seconds before he food was on the table. At this time we were willing to over look it until the bill came, and I saw that I had not received the happy hour charge for my Moscow Mule. I was informed that in the tiny print of the menu, ALWAYS READ IN LOW LIGHTING, it says that the late night happy hour deals are only for appetizers! At this point I have been extracted for every $ TWICE in the same meal! She sent her manager over without me even asking to ask about my concerns, and I told her about the happy hour prices and all she could say was "sorry". That's all I get??? There are so many other options out there in the world to eat, and because of this situation, I will be sure to go to those other locations first.. To lose one or hopefully many customers over a $2 charge is really dumb in my opinion, and I hope others aren't duped like myself! read more

I'm surprised I haven't written a review for Yard House before...This is one of my favorite places on The Banks because their food is consistently good and the beer selection is top notch. Favorite things about Yard House: - It's perfect for large groups or if you have people that like different types of food because their menu is HUGE and has a lot of variety. They also will seat a large group if you come in early...I've been here a few times with groups of 20 or more and it's been great. - Happy hour (M-F 3-6pm or late night) prices are very good on their food! Drink prices are not bad either. On their happy hour menu, we liked their buffalo wings ($6) and the chicken nachos ($7 for a huge order). - BEER selection is absolutely phenomenal. My husband is a beer connoisseur and he loves coming here because they have got dozens of beers on tap. There are a few local beers in there, but there's also beers from all over the world. They do seasonal flights as well, which I would recommend if you've never been there before. The bartenders are usually helpful if you're trying to decide what to get. They have a full bar too, so if beer isn't your thing there are other options. - Location and view can't be beat, being right on the Banks and so close to the Great American Ball Park. If you're catching a Reds or Bengals game, I would recommend you check this place out. My only complaint about Yard House is the service is kind of spotty and of course it's not local. But if you're looking for a good bar with pretty good food for a large group, Yard House is a great option. read more

So Yardhouse must be really listening to the critiques put on yelp- because I've come here twice since my initial review, and the service both times was flawless. It was even just as crowded and before a Red's game one of the times, and we didn't wait at all for a seat. Additionally, both servers that we had did an exceptional job taking care of us. My gluten-free cousin came with me again the third time and this time out server was on point with knowing about how to handle her food allergy, including giving her an entirely different, gluten-free menu. We were very impressed! I recommend coming here for happy hour - the food is filling and tasty and this is a business willing to take recommendations as change based on patron reviews, which I think is phenomenal. We frequent here often when going to a Reds game. We cannot always get in, but we have had good meals and beers here when we do! Servers are always efficient and friendly. Restrooms definitely better than the ballpark :o) Love that they have the different sports games on while we eat. The last time here I ordered the Cuban Roast Pork Dip. You definitely must try it! The pork was moist and it was not overly spicy. Of course the side of fries is a bonus. Have to have my fries! These are so good that you cannot stop eating them! I also like trying the different beer flights. Great way to sample beers without being stuck with a whole glass. Will be back! read more

Atmosphere is fun and lively/ brewpub feel and good 80/90s music playing. Plenty of draft beer choices. Burgers are good, nice quality flavor and char. Where things go wrong is the complete disorder - wrong order, wrong cooking temp on my wife's burger, other servers asking us if other orders were ours (3x). Fries were cold. Manager said he would take care of our bill then did not. Would return maybe for a drink, but that's all. read more
