I came in last night at 9pm and the guy behind the bar was cleaning up so I asked him if they were still open and he said yes, until 10pm. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and a sandwich. The entire time I was there I felt like he was trying to push me out the door, he asked if I wanted my food to go and when I asked about another food option (before I actually ordered) he told me it's not a good choice because it takes a little longer to cook than other options. With an hour before closing there is NO reason why he should be pushing me out of the door and making me feel like I'm bothering him, it was unprofessional and inexcusable. The food was good, I just had a chicken sandwich and fries so nothing too fancy. Had I not felt rushed and unwelcome I would have given this place a higher rating. read more

I enjoyed breakfast here on four consecutive mornings recently on my recent stay at the Hyatt. This is the restaurant inside the hotel lobby. It's a pleasant atmosphere, warm and welcoming. Food was pretty good, nice quality! They offer a breakfast buffet Friday's through Sunday's. Otherwise the same offerings are available the rest of the week off the menu. The setup is a bit different than I'm accustomed. You order at the bar counter, take a seat in an open table, and they deliver your meal to you, including your beverage order. The staff is friendly, though it's not the typically classic full service model. It seems to work out okay though. read more

Recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati and arrived a bit early for check-in, so I decided to stop into Red Roost Tavern, which is conveniently located inside the hotel. I had an hour or two to kill and figured I'd grab some lunch and a few drinks. I ordered the Tavern Burger, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations for a hotel bar. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right--l it felt more like something you'd get at a stand-alone pub. To go along with it, I had an espresso martini (perfectly made) and a couple of beers, including one of the local Cincinnati brews on tap, which was a nice touch and very reasonably priced. The bartender was awesome friendly, attentive, and knew how to make a proper cocktail. Bar seating was comfortable, and the overall vibe has that cozy tavern feel that makes you want to linger a bit longer. For what it is, this place nails it. Definitely one of the better hotel bars I've been to, and I see no reason not to give it a solid 5/5. read more

This restaurant is inside the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati. I came in early to try their breakfast. The food was quite good with a large portion. I tried an omelette with potatoes. They also put a salad on the side ... which was kind of strange. The coffee was just okay. Overall, the service was good. The food came out fast but then no one really came back to check on me. You have to order before sitting down and tip. So I feel like my tip was not really put to good use. The decor is nice and the restaurant is very clean. Typical hotel bar located inside the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. The bartender was friendly and the bar was very clean of course. Their menu isn't anything super exciting, just your typical sandwiches, burgers, and wings. I got the spring pasta entree to take up to my room. There is no room service here btw. The pasta was a little al dente for my liking, but I enjoyed the sweet potato puree and hert covert. The pistachios added a nice little crunch. I still don't know how I felt about the gorgonzola. It was a bit strong for this dish. The dish was overall fine and did the job as I just wanted to get something in my belly after a day or travel. I also got the Bardstown Bourbon cocktail which was pretty good. It was definitely more pineapple/sweet forward than I expected, but it had a really great flavor. read more

I visited the establishment on Friday evening and sat at the bar. Scott was the bartender who took care of me and provided excellent customer service. He's friendly, engaging, and overall a really nice guy - just what I would hope all bartenders to be. I was torn on what to order as the menu has a little bit of everything from starters, salads, sandwiches and full entrees. I decided on the Tavern Burger- Ohio wagyu beef, Tilamook cheddar, lettuce, pickle, onion and tavern sauce for $18 with an option of fries or side salad. I went with the fries. The burger was honestly not the greatest. The beef tasted odd, the bun soggy as seaweed, and the flavor was just that - flavorless. Dinner and drinks at the Red Roost Tavern was a perfect nightcap after a long day of travel. I walked in on a slow Sunday night. I initially waited to be seated trying to adhere to the sign that instructed me to do so, but after minutes passed by and I saw no one other than the bartender and a perfectly good bar I decided just to sit at the bar. The Red Roost Tavern had a typical hotel restaurant feel - generic and forgettable - but there were plenty of televisions to see the Sunday night football games. The bartender was fantastic. I never saw another employee the entire night but she ran food, made drinks, bussed plates all the while being engaging and conversational. She is the type of bartender who can make any customer feel at ease. The food was good. I ordered a burger and it was delicious. It wasn't a "go out of your way" for burger, but it was above my expectations. Juicy, flavorful, perfect thickness of the bun. The French fries were the classic golden fries that were a bit bland. The Regency Revenge was a great drink - it was basically a margarita variety but was well balanced, slightly tart, and quite refreshing. It was a good experience! read more

We decided to come to Red Roost Tavern before going to Blink Cincinnati 2019. They took a reservation at the time we wanted and there menu had a variety of items. From the time we arrived we were pleasantly greeted 4 times and seated at a high top, which was fine with us. I got a Prosecco and the fish tacos. My son got a burger with the waffle fries. The Prosecco was good. I was surprised they didn't have a half split, but we were the bar in the Hyatt so everything was priced a little higher. The fish tacos were outstanding. The sauce on them was great. My son scarfed down his burger - he said it was perfect. He got it without all of the additions on it (sauce etc). He ate about half of the waffle fries - they were a little greasy, but good. Great service - she could not have been any nicer!! I understand this is a "hotel restaurant" and it's Covid. However, this place is a restaurant I'd only ever go to again if I arrived at the hotel late and was unable to order delivery anywhere else. The food is okay. Not the worst, not the best. But their service is awful. I'm not sure if the staff just doesn't care or if they're understaffed. While staying at the Hyatt we chose to eat here out of convenience. They currently do offer limited dining in. We stood in line for 15 minutes without being acknowledged waiting for a table. They finally seated the family ahead of us (the restaurant was dead FYI) when we're being told "sorry we're not seating anyone else because it's getting too late". Let me tell you that it's 9pm at this point and they close at 10pm. We were a party of one adult and 2 kids. How are you going to turn away guests because it's "too close to closing" even though you made the guest wait 15 minutes before you even help them out?! The next day we had a late checkout (around 6pm) and decided to order takeout from there before we hit the road and being encouraged to call ahead for ordering. These folks have solid breakfast. You don't need to be staying in the hotel to enjoy the food. I walked in on a Sunday morning to a restaurant full of people opting for the breakfast buffet. The buffet was a little pricey for me (about $17), but it could be worth it if you're sporting a massive appetite when you walk in - it has the works: bacon, eggs, fruit, potatoes, waffles, pancakes... man, now I'm kinda wishing I'd gotten this! Even though I wasn't up for the buffet, I had a very solid french toast. Buttery brioche bread topped with fresh fruit with a glass of cranberry juice (don't judge me) to wash it all down made for a very satisfying breakfast. My waitress was very attentive, especially considering she was the only one running the room. Apparently, the lunches are great and most offerings are of the farm-to-table variety. Love it. Based on my breakfast experience, I would eat here again. read more

They have different menu for breakfast which begins from 6:30 am to 11:30 am. Buffet worth 18$. The lunch begins at 11:30 am until 5:00 pm. Dinner begins from 5:00 pm until 12:00 midnight. Yes, they are open until midnight! Bar during weekends is until 1:00 am. They have the best bartenders and also very awesome servers and managers! They are also kid friendly. They have food and drinks menu for kids. They accept reservations and also large groups. They accept to go orders but they charge 3$ for the eco-packaging. They just updated their food menu last July 6, 2018! If you don't see your drink on the menu, you can always talk to their bartender and they can make it for you! I think maybe the reason they went with this name is because their logo is a red rooster representing farm fresh ingredients and farm to table cuisine and it really is. They get their food from local farms around the city and they list them right on the menu. How cool is that? The problem I have is that this place is not a tavern it is a swanky beautiful contemporary hotel bar/restaurant. The decor is as sexy as can be. And not to be phunny here but the restaurant is decorated in all different shades of grey. There are dark grey that is smoky and sultry and then you have the light grey distressed barn wood that is just stunning. The accents are all a sultry red. You have to come and see for yourself! The architecture in this place is also incredible. Feature walls galore! Now onto the atmosphere. I love hotel bars because you meet so many different kinds of people from all over the world! Our bartender Ben was so great. I ordered up a watermelon margarita ($12) and my friend ordered a white wine sangria ($11) I admit the white wine sangria was one of the best I've ever had in my life. It was summery, the perfect amount of citrus to wine ratio. Phenomenal. The margarita was fresh, but a bit to sweet for me. We also ordered the Lemon Brulee for dessert again, insane delicious. The way this place took care of me and my dad was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end! On top of that, we had some great food!! So we will definitely be coming back. For starters, a place that actually provides not just free parking, but free valet parking in the middle of downtown - that's amazing! They get major points just for that. My father and I visited on a Wednesday evening around 5p and mostly had the place to ourselves - perfect to have a laid back birthday meal! We planned on simply sharing an appetizer and then getting dessert. Even though we opted to sit at a table instead of the bar, we were still welcome to take part in happy hour! They didn't seem to have a menu reflecting these prices, though. So if you want specifics, you'd have to ask your server. We were torn between the House Kettle Chips and the Poutine and asked our server for her opinion - she suggested the former and we took her up on it! The chips came on a huge platter and were covered with buffalo chicken and blue cheese fondue. The buffalo sauce definitely provided the strongest flavor in this dish and a little goes a long way. Frankly, this dish reminded me that buffalo sauce isn't my favorite. However, the chips were great! Thick and with the perfect crunch to them. And the chicken was pulled and very tender. We weren't even halfway through this enormous appetizer before our waitress came to check on us and let us know that the chef decided to send out an order of the poutine since I'd expressed and interest and in honor of my birthday - on the house! The poutine was just as large as the chips - a huge pile of hand-cut fries covered in duck gravy, duck confit and local cheese curds. The gravy was different from most. It tasted as if it had a tomato aspect to it, which I loved! The duck was very tender and the curds large and yummy! This was definitely my favorite between the two appetizers and also one of the better poutines I've had anywhere. I frequently find that poutine's can lack flavor (because the gravy lacks flavor). But this did quite the opposite. When our waitress came back around to check in on us again, I asked for to-go boxes (there was no way we'd be able to finish both appetizers and still have room for dessert) and to see a dessert menu. But she told me that the chef was already putting together a special dessert for my birthday - again, on the house! A few minutes after bringing our boxed up appetizers, our waitress brought out a long platter that was covered with four different desserts! One scoop of Graeter's Black Raspberry Chip, Deep Fried Bread Pudding, Flourless Chocolate Cake and House-Made Vanilla Ice Cream. Of course, the Graeter's was perfect. The cake was enrobed in a layer of rich chocolate ganache that I loved! I have to say that the cake itself wasn't my favorite. But that bread pudding rocked!! It's basically little balls of bread pudding that have been covered in a funnel-cake dough and then deep fried. It's served with a delightful bourbon creme friache and an apricot chutney. The outside of these little nuggets had just enough crisp on the outside while the inside remained tender and moist. They also paired very nicely with the awesome vanilla ice cream! Because of the Happy Hour prices, our bill was only $7 while we were served about $25-$30 worth of food! And the whole time our waitress was perfect! She checked in on us on a regular basis, she was friendly and she was able to answer all of our questions. Needless to say, I can't wait to go back! I would call this medium priced, medium-high quality food. It is definitely fresh and clean, and the service is satisfactory. It's located in a hotel, but that's ok, it's a nice hotel. Came in tonight (as a guest in the hotel, it was easy) for our anniversary dinner after a few days in town. It was a little slow (a weeknight during Covid, we understood), and we didn't know what to expect. The team here is awesome! Our waitress was Jody, and she was adorable, personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu. My wife has some dietary issues, and her recommendations were all excellent (she asked good questions about what would work for her). The kitchen even made her a special sauce that fit what she wanted, even though it wasn't on the menu. I really loved this place! The waiters are friendly, the atmosphere is beautiful. You can watch the cooks make your food if you want! The booths are huge and spacious. The presentation of the food is great. They support local businesses. The beef comes from Lebanon ohio and some things from Findlay Market. There were just a couple of tables of people so we had no trouble getting in. The waiter says there is a new burger each month. Our burger was supposed to contain brisket. I saw traces of it along with traces of onion straws. The sauce was a little overpowering. It was an aoli. I'm not quite sure that the pickles should have been added. It's located right by the convention center so it's a great place to attend after an event. The prices are a little on the high side but I'm sure it'll be worth the money.
