Got there at 12:45 on a Sunday. Had put our name on the waitlist and waited around 20 minutes. Our waitress was great, very friendly, it said her name was Clara on the check. We both ordered Bloody Marys, which were good although we didn't get the lime or extra olives we asked for. I ordered the philly cheesesteak omelet. It was skimpy, very dry, came with one piece of toast and no potatoes. Seemed over priced at $15. My friend ordered a cheese omelet. Again, it was skimpy and dry, and none of the cheese was melted. Went on a Sunday at 11:30am during winter (meaning no outside seating open), so obviously the 40 min wait made sense. About 15 min in we were able to snag 2 first-come seats at the bar. The bartender was nice overall, think she got herself a bit worked up over the rush, but fine in general. I had the speciality mimosa, peaches & cream & strawberry. It seemed strong but was good. For food I got the Pollo Party and it was delicious. HOE is diner food with a dirty spin, seeing that it started in college towns. But the ingredients were good and taste was yummy. I ordered "The Walk of Shame". It was absolutely terrible. Took one bite and had to spit it out. It tasted like they cooked the sausage and bacon on a griddle that had not been cleaned in weeks. First walking in, I like the overall vibe of the place, really clean. Food was good, I got the Angry Egg, your average breakfast plate. I ordered an orange juice, really good, and a cold brew, the cold brew was just OK. It sounded a lot better on the menu I assumed it would come in a cup and not in a milkshake glass cup where you get way less. Being a barista and from Los Angeles, where there's a coffee shop in every corner, I've had better. The service was also slow, took a while for the food to come out and our waitress rarely checked in us though she was very nice. Popped in for breakfast last weekend. The creme brulee waffle was delicious, it was very rich and sweet, so I didn't use any syrup on it. The macerated blueberries were a nice compliment. Hang over easy Usually I get a Omelette but today I decided to try something new and get the brunt ends. They were really good and tender. The only thing I would change is that the menu doesn't mention scallions was on it and for someone who doesn't like onions that might be an issue I like onions so I did enjoy but I have friends who wanted to try my plate and couldn't once they seen the onions. Very odd experience, especially considering how slow the restaurant was when we visited. After being seated, it took our waitress about 20 minutes to bring our beverages. She never came back to check on us or refill our drinks, and we ended up waiting another 30 minutes or so before receiving our food. Again, the restaurant was incredibly slow at the time, so the wait was especially surprising. Unfortunately, when our food finally arrived, one of the plates had a hair in it. Our server did her best to handle the situation and appeared to speak with someone about it, but no manager ever came to our table to address the issue, apologize, or make sure we were okay. Instead, our waitress returned with a $15 gift card. I found this particularly odd because the item wasn't removed from the check or remade. I've worked in several restaurants myself, and I've never experienced service quite like this--especially during a time when the restaurant was not busy. It honestly makes me wonder how the restaurant operates during a rush. This was so good! We went at about 1pm on a Tuesday and it was relatively empty. Service was good, our server Aminah was amazing and so so kind! Haven't been here in years but it seemed to still be pretty popular. We came around ten and were seated without issue. The drinks were quick to arrive and were pretty tasty. I really enjoyed my Chicken & Waffles that came out. Staff wasn't always around due to how busy they became but they were helpful with selecting their top picks on the menu. The wait for a table inside was over an hour, but they could seat us right away outside. Our server was friendly and personable. Our order was lost. We waited for a long time and the server came over and told us there was a mix up and took our order again. We waited (again) for our food and it finally arrived. Still had to ask about a few items that were missing. Everyone that came in after us got their food and left before we even started eating. The food was great and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Under the circumstances, and knowing the restaurant made a mistake, we should have been comped our beverages or at least one entree (or the entire meal). I'm sorry I didn't bring it up then, but we were having a good time and didn't fret about it in the moment. Went over the winter with reasonable expectations around wait times. The front-end hostess mis-quoted our wait time; we attempted to sit at the bar, order drinks in the interim. The Bartender basically threw us out of the area to the effect of 'messing up her money' if diners elected to sit at the bar, eat (as in mad; words were exchanged). It is a more upscale establishment than your average diner, so you can also meet the parents or have a friends meet up here and not feel like you had to do the walk of shame to get here. We had prompt service with a waiter who seemed to be happy to be there. I got an OG Bloody Mary which was pretty decent, nothing special, but solid. A suprise 5 star. Heading out of Cinci we googled and stumbled upon this joynt, and the neighborhood was gritty. Enter and first glance is it is a bar in the student party area of U C. Anyways, they were perfect. Cleaned the table thoroughly. Prompt coffee, water and service. Food was outstanding. Cinnamon bun French toast and bacon, eggs perfectly over easy. Bathroom was spotless. Some of the other breakfast places I looked up on Yelp weren't open early but this was open when we got there around 8:00 a.m. They serve breakfast as well as lunch items. Malik was our waiter and did a great job serving us. Based on the online menu, I wanted to order the Fungi Omelet but was told they rotate their menus often. I settled on the Silence of the Hams omelet which was excellent. Very large and satisfied my appetite until dinner. Stuffed with cajun ham cubes, 2 types of melted cheeses and topped with smoked paprika. My collague got the Greek omelet which contained feta cheese. Both of us ordered the rye toast which was actually a rye pumpernickle toast. On the street parking will cost using the Cinci parking app. read more
