The "soil ammendment " from yard works they they said is cause in winter it turns to clay LOL. Place is liars or idiots.
    Steve C.

Short story - they sell crap and lie about why and would do nothing, not even look at the crap they dumped in a 2,000 pound turd into my truck as soil ammendment. Full of solid wet clay. We have used your Zion Crossroads location for mulch and stone and soil Ammendment's for a year. We bought everything there because your prices seemed fair and it was convenient. Last week we bout "Soil Ammendment". The operator if you can call him that who loaded me literally dumped a slug of crap into my pickup. It did not feather out at all. It came iut of bucket in a one yard slug and hit so hard I was afraid it might broke a spring or shock. It didn't. I passed it off as maybe because it was frozen. It was not frozen but just clay covered in compost. Look at the pictures. Now I ent back and showed the man who knows me as regular customer. He tries to convince me I should expect this in this time of year "because the snow and wet makes the ammendment like that". I told him we can agree to disagree but please don't insult this old man's intelligence telling me lies. I asked him to come out and look at his products and show me anything that looks as crappy and he wouldn't. I had a new customer potentially for him look at products and they were all clumpy full of mud and clay but better than mine. We went down towards toward Palmyra and bought stuff 10 times better for the less or same price.

Firewood to large to burn and needs to be split

We ordered 1/6 cord of wood for the winter season. When ordering we specifically asked if the cut could be small because we are over 74 years old and unable to carry and was told no problem there wouldn't be large pieces. The wood was dumped in the driveway. The pieces were so large we cant burn them in our fireplace. We had to get someone to move them off the driveway and now need to get someone to split into smaller pieces and stack it for us. Between the price of the wood, finding someone to carry, cut and stack we have paid twice as much as the wood. Will not use them again, very disappointed.

    Clay balls galore! No compost.

Since YW no longer sells mushroom compost, I decided to try their Master Blend (50/50) Bed Mix and ordered 6 yards to improve the overall composition of my flower beds . This was a colossal mistake. While the soil component was decent, the 50% compost was terrible. The bulk of this component was clay which congealed into balls the size of baseballs. Some were the size of footballs! There seemed to be some sand thrown in as well as some hark-pack. I saw nothing resembling compost. I called their office to complain about the quality of my delivery. The women I s/w was very nice and gave me a credit for the $50 deliverey charge. She claims that the cold weather coupled with some recent light rain caused the blend to congeal They do not cover their soil mix products. It was her recommendation that I visit their yard prior to delivery to insure I am happy with the product quality or else buy the mix in the summer when the weather is warmer. While this makes a certain amount of sense, in reality it's a poor excuse. There shouldn't be ANY clay or hardpack in this mix which looked nothing like the deep/rich mixture on their website. In addition, if you claim cold weather/rain issues you should post this critical piece of information on your website. You should not have to visit the production site to insure a quality product . I sent a photo of the delivery at her request but never head back from her. I spent countless hours with claw and mallet breaking this stuff up but it will be an epic project to adequately complete. It's a shame since I've been buying their Premium Hardwood mulch for several years and it's a quality product.

Thanks, you guys "ROCK"! Easy order to place online. They called with a confirmation minutes later for the delivery time.

Visited the Hasty Lane, Midlothian, location. Wanted the Master Blend Bed Mix. The loader said they didn't have any mixed but that he could give me half a load of the organic growing media and the other half screened topsoil. I took it and mixed it at home when I unloaded it. Nothing grows in it. Seeds germinate and then fail. Leaves turn yellow. The plants have not increased in size since they were transplanted well over a month ago. Plants from the same flat transplanted elsewhere are thriving. Shortly after I bought the first load (before I knew better) I called Yard Works to see if they had any of the Master Blend Bed Mix at the Hasty Lane site. I was told there was one scoop left. It was absolutely horrible. Not only was the load smaller but it was full of gravel, red clay, and bits of broken glass and trash. The loader scraped up a generous amount of the parking lot for us to fatten up the load. It took me hours picking the gravel out of it. BIG pieces of gravel. BIG chunks of compressed red clay. I filled two five gallon buckets with the gravel before I gave up and dumped the rest of the load (about 1/3). Its useless. And, the plants that I transplanted into it are dying also. Way too expensive for plain dirt.

Poor quality product (mulch). And, expect the load they bring to be about 2/3rds of what you ordered and paid for.

The red mulch is not bright red, I've purchased this color for the past 5 years, and the quality has gone down. It's a big disappointment
