Received great customer service on the initial visit from Angie ( friendly, personable, and knowledge) she really put me at ease about the repair work and the timeframe for the work. I was given next Friday as the pick up date and received a text notification on Tuesday they were ready but I was only able to pickup on that Friday (commute life). I would only recommend Yarnal for new purchases and simple repairs. The owners just announced they are retiring and there was a bit of confusion over what services they could provide. After some miscommunication over a design earlier this month, we settled on a resize of my wedding ring, which they ultimately couldn't do. It cost me extra time and money. They are friendly, and I do wish the Yarnal family a happy retirement. However, if you want jewelry design or even moderate repair, then this is not the place for you. When looking for my wedding band I wanted something special and heard Sherry and the team would be perfect for the project I had! My father had passed and my mother handed me down their wedding rings after she remarried. She was kind, warm, and informative as she explained what happens during their basic ring cleaning and premium ring cleaning service. I opted for the free basic ring cleaning which took about 3-5 minutes. During that time, I got to listen to Sherry and her coworkers talk and reminisce and you can tell that this is a close knit group that treats others with respect and kindness- something I really value when visiting a business. My engagement ring was a little loose on me so I went to Yarnal Jewelers to get it resized. Being super cautious, as I did not want to ruin my engagement ring or accidentally get it a size too small, I had sooo many questions and the ladies who work here were VERY helpful and knowledgeable. I went to a different jewelry store at first, and although they were $25 cheaper than Yarnal, they did not give me the same service. I love going into a small business for the first time and feeling welcome, having fun conversation with multiple workers, and learning from the people who work there. PROS: - Great service - It's in a plaza, so parking is plentiful - They test the metal and diamond before resizing the ring - All changes are done at that specific location - Well communicated turnaround time (Maybe 3-4 business days?) - They give you a call when your jewelry is ready - They try not to touch your jewelry with their hands, if possible CONS: - A little more expensive than I was anticipating, but I think it's just because of the region. (East Coast is ~ $60, whereas I paid $85). However, I did call around and other jewelry stores were charging over $100. Yikes! read more

Sherry and Claire are AMAZING!! I brought my wedding ring setting and my loose diamond for the center mount. Right away, Sherry noticed my prong setting would not properly support the diamond and I needed a stronger 4 prong setting. If I went someplace else to set my diamond, it is likely they would've just set it in the prong setting the wedding band came with and if I lost my diamond because of such, I would've been devastated. Sherry also tested my setting diamonds to assure me that they were real and not cubic-zirconia. Claire was so helpful with my order for the replacement prong, the labor for setting the diamond. They are incredibly helpful and extremely professional. You can TRUST this place with your diamond and ring. The care they take in handling your jewelry is outstanding! On my way out, I noticed a GORGEOUS band with 4 small princess cut diamonds that would match exact to my wedding ring. It fit exact and it was as if made for my wedding ring. I bought it! It is stunning together. My prong setting came within a week and they mounted my center diamond in it. My ring is gorgeous and I'm so happy with their workmanship. Unfortunately and surprisingly, given the good Yelp reviews and recommendations by some local acquaintances, I have had a disappointing experience with Yarnal jewelers. I brought in my engagement and wedding rings as I had lost a diamond from the wedding ring. They replaced the head of my engagement ring without trouble as it was wearing down. They also replaced the missing diamond in my wedding ring with a well-matched stone. But unfortunately the retipping the jeweler did on the wedding band was, frankly, very sloppy work (picture attached). The wedding ring was lumpy on the sides with ill-defined grooves. The bars between the stones were much higher than they were originally, the diamonds didn't all line up straight, they didn't reshape the shoulders of the ring to the same shape as they were before, and gold from the retipping process was smeared onto the edges of some of the diamonds. They took the ring back to complete the job. I also gave them photos of what the ring looked like originally so they could match it (although they had supposedly taken photos of the ring when I gave it to them the first time). I came in again a week later but I still wasn't happy with the result (still uneven in several places), so they took the ring back again for another week. I came to pick up the ring again today. After inspecting the ring today, I asked them to fix the shoulders of the ring as they weren't of equal width and one side had a flat spot. They did this work while I was there, with some to-ing and fro-ing after they created scratches during that process that I asked them to smooth out. They said that the gold that had bled onto the sides of some of the diamonds during the retipping process couldn't be reached by their polishers so they couldn't fix that part. (Although you really have to peer hard to see the bled gold, I'm not really sure if it's normal to expect these types of imperfections when a ring is repaired in this way.) I'm not a fussy person generally, I just wanted my ring to be returned in a similar style and quality to what it was when I handed it over for repair. Overall, I was happy to try and support a local business but left feeling disappointed with the repair process, very confused as to how they continued to pass off shoddy work as complete, and frustrated that I had to point out imperfections to the supposed experts time and time again. read more

Yarnal Jewelers and their entire staff was so warm and helpful when getting my grandmother's diamond reset into a new band for an engagement ring. I went in for the first time on a Tuesday with the intent to propose to my girlfriend on Saturday, and Yarnal had my diamond reset by Thursday night (they also stayed open past closing time to allow me to come in and pick up the ring). This is not something that can typically be done in such a short time, but, they rallied and worked hard to finish the ring in time for my proposal!
