I've purchased multiple pieces and even custom made a wedding ring there, this last visit left me with a very disappointed in their service. I rang the bell to be buzzed in through the secure doors to be greeted by a lady who asked how she could help me. I told her I had a ring that I would like to get appraised. I was then passed in to another rep who I had to explain to again, he then passed me on to another guy which I had to explain again. Mind you, I was the only customer in the store, the lack of care in my business was apparent. He quickly told me that I needed an appointment and would have to go home and call them. Unbelievable that they couldn't offer to schedule or help me any further. I've followed Ronnie for over 20 years when he had his previous store in San Ramon but can't fathom visiting this store anymore. Mike is the best! I had a terrible experience trying to get my finances ring sized at a different store that I won't mention but let's just say I paid for her to have it sized and they told her they couldn't do it and wouldn't give me my money back. I went to Barons and Mike was the nicest and most helpful person I could ask for! Told him the situation and he told me he could have the ring done by Saturday (I took it in the Wednesday before thanksgiving) and it ended up being done on Friday! Barons first helped my fiancé and I correct a fit problem and white gold/platinum remake request on my wedding set that we had originally purchased with a different Tacori-certified retailer on the east coast. Both Matt and Janelle treated us like family from the moment we walked into the store and presented our biggest concern which was that our matching set wasn't fitting flush. Barons validated our concerns and advocated for us by asking Tacori to remake our rings to sit flush when the previous retailer had brushed our concerns aside. We ended up remaking my set from white gold to platinum and my husband and I are still so very happy with the final product nearly one year later! Unfortunately my father passed recently and I wanted to design a tribute piece. My dad had five small diamonds in his wedding ring which I ultimately hoped to split with my siblings. I immediately thought about Barons because I knew they did custom work and had a jeweler in house. Once again, I worked with Janelle and Matt, who helped me design my perfect piece and preserve the remaining stones and gold for my brothers. Visited Barons Jewelers in Dublin today for a written insurance replacement appraisal for my deceased Mother's 18K white gold, yellow & white diamond ring. I met with the owner. He did an expert legal 'Certificate of Appraisal.' The ring appraised for $6,800. He tested the gold content, graded (approx.) the diamonds for clarity & color, found the '750' (18K) stamp on inside and maker's mark, told me the size, and even cleaned the ring! Still a top tier jeweler in my book. I was in the area so I stopped in to get one anklet sent out for repair, explore the option of getting a clasp and looking at thumb rings. I picked out two. We drove down to Barons from Vacaville because the store had amazing reviews. I had purchased a ring enhancer from a retail jewelry store and was told that it would be safe to pair the enhancer (white gold) with my platinum engagement ring. I don't know much about jewelry so I trusted this commercial retailer, and within 30 minutes of wearing the enhancer, my platinum engagement ring was gouged from the metal and scratched up. I was so upset because I am in love with my engagement ring!! We brought both rings by to Barons to see if they would be able to repair my engagement ring and offer a solution for the enhancer because I loved the style. They spent about 30 minutes explaining the difference between the different golds, how they would age, and what maintenance would look like. I was told that the best solution would be to return my enhancer to the retailer because they did not offer the band I liked in platinum and that the rubbing between the two metals would be a constant issue. Barons offered to show me different bands that were similar and said they could even custom make one that I loved. Even though they offered these options, they did not pressure me at all and I did not feel like they were trying to steal my business. They never spoke poorly of the retailer I originally purchased from and did not make me feel bad for asking many questions. When I asked if they could repair the damage to my engagement ring, they told us that typically it would take about 7-10 days to polish and buff the ring. They knew we had driven down from Vacaville and worked with us to get it done in one hour! When we came back to pick up my ring, we spent about 45 minutes looking at different bands and trying different styles to figure out what I liked. They were very professional and patient (I'm very picky haha). They offered us great prices and let us walk out with a wishlist of items so I could think about what I wanted. Even after all the time spent helping us, I never once felt pressured to purchase. We will definitely be returning to Barons for all of our jewelry needs while we live in the Bay Area. My ring came back looking brand new and I could literally see my reflection in it, it was so shiny! My husband and I went into Barons hoping they could "save" my wedding ring. When my ring was newer I took a fall and hit a wall which damaged my ring in the process. After that I had taken it to get it fixed. The ring was never the same..several repairs and three missing diamonds, I was still hopeful. Ashe was very honest and said they could indeed repair it however the integrity had been long lost. They could not warranty any repair. He recommended we trade it in for a upgrade well nice thought but I didn't want to give up my diamond ring my husband got down in one knee with!!! The thought broke my heart.
