I'm a big fan of Lebanese food. We often have it for lunch. Because Yasma is only open for dinner, we lived here for a couple of years before we got around to trying it. But I'm sure glad we did. The flavors here are at a complexity level above any Lebanese food that I've had elsewhere. Even the common dishes, such as hummus, baba ghanoush, and tabbouleh, all contain ingredients and spices that make them stand out and add a terrific level of complexity. For example, the tabbouleh includes not just interesting seasonings but also pomegranate seeds. It was not the only dish that was served with the addition of pomegranate. There was also a delightfully spicy sauce that seemed to be comprised of both pomegranate and harissa. The chef's tasting menu is a terrific way to sample most of the dishes on the menu. Our favorites turned out to be most of the cold course dishes that were served in the first of three rounds. This included: - Hummus - Baba ghanoush - Tabbouleh - A spice tray with a selection of olives As you would expect from a high-end Lebanese restaurant, the pitas are perfectly puffed and delicate. The hot dishes included lamb and chicken and were served on the traditional garlic sauce. The tasting menu concluded with an assortment of bite-sized pieces of baklava. If there was one shortcoming, it was the wine list. The white wines seemed to be of a singular note, although they were offered from four different countries. Unfortunately, they were out of the French Chardonnay, so I might be inclined to bring my own bottle the next time, assuming they have a corkage fee.

Ok let's start with what went well. The location of the restaurant by the waterfront is really cute and I bet the outdoor seating is really nice during the summer. Plenty of nearby parking available. We were directly taken to our table when we arrived so there was no wait time (we made reservations a week before). Loved the the arabesque feel (the wall decorations, the eye etc). I was expecting more from this restaurant...in all fairness I'd have rated it a 3.5. The service was quite slow. The appetizers weren't even brought out till after about 20 minutes. We ordered a glass of rose and fresh lemon mint which was ok (a bit on the sweet side). The fattoush was "missing". I appreciated the presentation but it was missing in terms of flavor (maybe a dash of sumac would have made it more flavorful). The muhamarra was drowning in debs el remman. Too sweet. Presentation was nice but the flavor was off for me. The Saj bread was lovely and delicious. The taouk was tasty and flavorful however the spices on it were not exactly what I expected to be on a shish taouk (spicer than expected). I think it would be a good idea to have more sauce given the portion of the chicken on the plate. Maybe swap out the wedges potato for French fries? I think that would be more "authentic" the way it usually is served. All in all, good place to give it a try. Would I come back? Maybe not.

Muhammara - definitely get this one

We were looking for something different than the Asian food options on Robson. Yasma popped up, but doesn't have as many reviews on Yelp. Pleasant surprise. The food is amazing. Shadi, our server, made us feel so welcome. He suggested some options for dishes when we thought we wanted some other things (we were originally thinking salmon, tabbouleh). His suggestions were on point...the favorite is muhammara. We saw many people having celebration dinners here...totally a special place to celebrate! Portions were plenty. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in town.

Two different kebabs and fatteh humus. So much food and so delicious.

Holy smokes the people that work there are nice, service was amazing. We came with a baby and they accommodated us very well. Food was bomb.com, can't say I know much about syrian food but that humus platter was amazing, the kebabs were amazing and the mint lemond was basically the best drink I've had. Highly recommend this place for the great atmosphere, service and food.

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. This restaurant is so gorgeously decorated. The staff are so friendly and do an amazing job with their service. But most of all is the food. I can't get over how delicious it is! A place I'd love to go to again

You wanna try middle eastern/arabic food in an upscale restaurant with a great view ? YASMA is the greatest answer to that : - staff and service: 10/10 - location and theme : 9/10 ( just hoped it would have been bigger) - Food : * Hummus : 8.5/10 : great texture but lacking a bit more of lemon juice. * Fried Kebba : 9/10 * Spicy potato : 8/10 : could have been spicier * Toshka and fries : 10/10 : Perfect sandwich * Mshawi : mixed grill platter : Aleppo kebab was the star(12/10). chicken was good(9/10) and lamb one was ok(7/10) Wanna come back to try the rest of the menu !

Wonderful refined flavors of the Levant, a region that includes Syria and Lebanon. The textures, temperature and quality of the food were excellent; very friendly server and staff; located along the end of the sea wall bike path before reaching Stanley Park facing the harbor and marine dock. Freshly baked pita bread, chicken and steak kabobs cooked to the perfect temperature, wonderful fresh fattoush salad and tasty hearty hummus! The flavors all blend well. Recommend! But, WARNING if you have a NUT allergy! We disclosed to our server our high allergy to all nuts. She too understood as she also has a nut allergy. When the special of the day kebab came out, there were large walnuts underneath the meat! My son had already taken a few bites, but luckily he noticed the walnuts in time and our server was very apologetic.

Syrian and Lebanon food. Yasma Sometimes I ordered a dish that I cooked at home and judged the restaurant based on my cooking of the dish. I cooked a pretty good (based on friends and family reviews ) lentil soup. Lentil soup at Yasma is Wickedly Excellent. I the combination of pomegranate molasses , red peppers, cumin and nuts (Muhammara). Don't forget to try Fattoush Salad (delicious mixture of cucumber, tomato and a few other ingredients with fried pita bread topping) We had Grilled Kibbeh too. A place to go or to impress a guest...Having dinner overlooking the water, watching all boats and people passing by. Service is good too. I will definitely come back again to try more dishes.

Yasma was a great place to dine at when visiting Vancouver. We had a blast. Everything was so delicious and delightful. Atmosphere and Service were great too. We recommend it to everyone wants to taste Syrian/Lebanese food with a touch of luxury.

****MUST EAT HERE**** If you're looking for fresh delicious food and great service don't look anywhere else! I have been here for days and finally found a place that I will never forget. The flavors, presentation and service was above and beyond. If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out. DELICIOUS

Overall, I enjoyed the food profile, though the service could definitely be improved. It was challenging to get the server's attention, and some cutlery was missing until we asked for it. My friend and I shared the Mezza Sampler - Hot ($32), which included 2 falafel, 2 kibbeh, cauliflower, and halloumi fries. Each dish was quite good, but the highlight for me was definitely the fried cauliflower. It was served with tahini, tzatziki, and pita bread. I'd recommend this more for sharing, as it can get a bit greasy. Our other friends ordered the Lentil Soup (small - $5), served with bread crisps, and the Batata Narra ($10), which are potatoes in a tomato chilli sauce. They said both dishes were good, though the Batata Narra wasn't spicy at all.

The portion was good and everything was delicious. I'm GF, and they serve the dips with lettuce for free (or you can order a side of cucumbers for a small charge). The presentation was lovely. The only thing I didn't like was after a while all of the dips just get mushed together and you kinda don't know what you're eating anymore...Also we all loved the jalapeno hummus the most. We asked for arak and it wasn't served the right way...Our server forgot to bring an extra empty glass so that we can mix the arak with water (in the proportional way that we'd like). I asked for an empty glass for mixing in addition to another drinking glass because mine was broken (crack was big and the glass should be chucked out). Server forgot to get an empty mixing glass. We ordered a taouk pita wrap, but we got served a taouk platter instead. Anyhow she just wasn't very attentive. The mixed grill mezze platter was mostly yummy except for the kafta. All of us at the table couldn't have more than a bite of it. The meat was undercooked, and the taste of the lamb was too strong and off. Definitely didn't taste like the kafta we know. The chicken and the cauliflower were delicious. I'd be tempted to try Nuba at another location and sample other things off their menu. Happy eating!!
