    Mixed grill

Really great authentic Lebanese spot in Vancouver! Everything tastes super fresh, and the portions are generous. Loved the hummus and tabbouleh -- both packed with flavor and that bright, tangy freshness you want. The mixed grill was huge, definitely enough to share. Service was friendly and quick, and they were happy to adjust things to our preferences. Honestly, this might be one of the best Lebanese/Middle Eastern places in B.C. The menu focuses on real, sit-down dishes instead of the usual street food, which is a nice change. Clean, comfortable space -- overall a great find if you're craving authentic Lebanese

I cannot hype this place up enough! The wait staff are attentive and so very nice! The atmosphere relaxed yet sophisticated. The food was so flavorful, every bite better than the last! It was such an experience! We opted to try both the cold and hot mezza samplers and were not disappointed. Plenty of pita, perfectly thin, not too doughy, to continue enjoying every bite! Enjoy a meal on their beautiful patio and allow your taste buds to be tantalized

Superb spot here! Everything we tried was excellent, service was incredible and the overall experience was amazing. Make sure to get the Lebanese coffee!

3.5/5 Food 4/5 Service 2.5/5 Seating/Comfort Favourites were definitely halloummi fries! The tang and the chewy warm cheese was delectable. Everything tasted flavourful with fresh spices and ingredients. I would recommend making reservations esp during prime time.

Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen was a strong 3.5 stars for me. I'm not sure if I went on an off day because the reviews on this place is stellar so it could have been bad luck for me. The Fattoush salad was one of the better dishes here. Vegetables were fresh, khubz were fresh and dressing was on point. The Makdous was a bit too salty for me, but I will preface that this was my first time trying it. The labne on the bottom was delicious though. The fried potatoes were too salty as well. I'm not sure if they were accidentally too heavy handed with the salt, but we barely touched it. The Shanklish was decent and a good change with the appetizers. The Shish Tawouk I've had better elsewhere. The chicken was on the drier side. The Kafta was my favorite and flavors were well balanced. The beef was tender and went well with the rice. The lamb was a close contender and it's our second favorite dish of the night. The service was ok and they came by to ask if we needed anything else, but didn't really ask if we liked the food. I saw the gentleman who might be the manager look over at our table a few times, but never bothered to ask how everything was. His attention was definitely on all the other surrounding tables as well as one table right up front which looked like regulars.

Our group of 11 people tried all five main lunch menu items (Falafel Platter, Cauliflower, Shish Tawouk, Kafta, Fatte') and all the sides (Hummus, Mutabbal, Baba Ghanouj, Muhammara, Cabbage Salad, Fried Potatoes). Everything was delicious. The servers were friendly and accommodating to our large group. We will definitely visit again.

Heavenly. The falafel, prawns, cauliflower and halloumi were savour perfect bites. All hot mezzes, we weren't sure if four shared plates would be enough for 3 of us but oh it was! I can't even choose a stand out dish because they were all exceptionally tasty. The halloumi definitely was a salty treat so if you aren't keen for salt, skip. But we loved it with the pomegranate sauce! The acid brought out the halloumi flavour and jived perfectly. Service was prompt and the space quite large with a heated patio. Love the cushions and the plates.

Finally tried out Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen, which specializes in Lebanese food. Didn't realize it took over from Jamjar Canteen. We dropped in on a busy Tuesday (6:30pm). The patio area was packed but we were able sit inside. Service was friendly but not the most attentive. Menu is small; salads, soups and mezzas (cold, hot and grilled). Everything is meant to be shared. - Lebanese coffee ($6.00) - smooth with cardamom notes. - Hibiscus cinnamon ($6.00) - no hibiscus flavour at all. Tasted like regular water with a splash of cinnamon. Don't order. - Mezza sampler ($25.00) - two falafels, halloumi fries, two cheese rolls and cauliflower. They were out of kibbeh, offering the halloumi fries in substitute. The two dips (labneh and a runny style hummus) were tasty. Portion is awfully small. Cauliflower was the best thing on the platter. - Mixed grill combo ($75.00) - two skewers of shish tawouk, kafta and lahm mishwi, fried potatoes and two cold mezzas (fattoush and baba ghannouj). The mezza plates are tiny. Baba ghannouj was excellent; smoky and nicely chared. Fattoush was overdressed. Tiny portion of fried potatoes. Meats could have been cooked a touch less but still enjoyable. Both the garlic sauce and muhammara were excellent. Happy to have tried out MLK but small portions.

Double Date night with our favourite date night couple, on the patio at Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen.  We decided to try both the hot and cold Mezza Sampler platters, plus we added a Fattoush salad and for the meat eaters, an order of Kafta from the Grilled Mezza section. Highly recommend these Sampler platters. They are an excellent way to try lots of different flavors without feeling overly stuffed. The hot Mezza Sampler platter is a fixed selection of dishes but the Cold Mezza Sampler platter offers your choice of any 3 cold mezza. For our platter we selected Hummus, Muhammara and Makdous.  The Makdous (Pickled baby eggplants) were just a little "too" pickled for our taste. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The Hummus and Muhammara dips were superb, and I loved how the addition of pita chips gave our Fattoush salad an extra crunch to it! My favourite dish of all was the Cheese rolls that came with our Hot Mezza  sampler platter. They looked like spring rolls but they were crispy rolls filled with ooey, gooey cheesy goodness. I've never had anything like this at a Lebanese restaurant before and  I am totally in love with these Cheese rolls now! Service: Good Parking: Paid parking on the street Location: 1488 West 11th Ave., Vancouver

    Shish Tawouk ($22), Batata Harra ($12), & Kafta ($22)

Mazahr is a decent option for diners who want to grab a bite of their favourite Middle Eastern dishes around the Fairview neighbourhood. In addition to their indoor tables, they also have a heated & covered patio area where you can ask to be seated. Arriving in the late evening, I was a bit taken back by how dim the lighting was in the restaurant, but perhaps others might not mind the nighttime ambiance. Our table ordered the shish tawouk ($22), batata harra ($12), kafta ($22), & rice pudding ($12, not pictured). The batata harra came out first, & it was well seasoned & certainly a great portion for 2-3 people to share. Very similar to Jamjar's batata harra if you've ever tried them before! Then came the mains, & we also asked for some extra pita as well which they gave to us for free. The shish tawouk was grilled really lovely; the chicken still retained so much of its juiciness! I was told that the kafta was also made nicely. The toum (garlic sauce) on the side was very tasty & had a good creaminess to it. However, in comparison to the batata harra, I think our mains were just a tad small, portion wise, especially for the price ($22 each). I think if you've been to a lot of other Middle Eastern restaurants, you might've been able to discern this on first glance at our plates! I saw that their dessert menu had a "honey sweetened milk and rice pudding topped with pistachios" & I earnestly ordered two for our table after the meal. Unfortunately, upon taking my initial bite, I was immediately disappointed as I realized that their generous pistachio topping was accompanied by a strong floral tasting ingredient that was later confirmed to be orange blossom syrup. Coming from a Turkish background, I'm personally not accustomed to floral tastes in desserts, & in knowing this I almost always avoid them when I can, so it's a bit perturbing that this wasn't disclosed properly beforehand on their menu. As for the actual rice pudding, it was on the runnier side & the rice was dispersed slightly sparsely, but these traits would certainly bear subjective judgement from different diners. All in all, I would rate our meal 3/5 stars due to the portion-to-price value that you're getting, in addition to the poor experience we had with dessert. However, with a menu on the smaller side, it's clear that Mazahr uses fresh & quality ingredients for its various dishes, which you can definitely pick up on through taste!

A very tiny yet highly acclaimed restaurant in Vancouver near Yaletown-Roundhouse SkyTrain station…read more We stumbled upon this place while walking right at opening, so we got first pick at one of the 3 tables for dine-in. Definitely try to go at opening or when it is not busy, as the dine-in experience is memorable - they place your order in a long wooden board to make it a beautiful spread. We got the Manoush'eh Special which has ground beef, pomegranate, etc and Sham Style which is shaped like a boat. We also tried the yogurt drink which pairs well with the dishes. The only con is that this place does not have free water, but it is no problem to have our own water bottles supplementing the meal. We also got the lentil soup which is pretty good. Definitely sufficient to share one to try, but the Manoush'eh outshines the rest of the items. I loved the quality and texture of the Manoush'eh and just the breads in general. It is a lot of food for 2 people so if you want a snack, you can definitely just share 1. Some people go here for the wraps too. Overall, an affordable restaurant with good food. We got the most expensive items and it was less than 50 CAD all-in, but a lot of the items are around the 10 CAD mark.
