If you missed the news... Tayybeh moved from their location in Kits to Broadway in Mt Pleasant and we finally got to come to their new location for my husband's birthday dinner. We ordered the Lavender Leila and Fizzy Farah to drink. I love how they have fun mocktails to try, both were delicious! We knew that they're known for lager portions and we felt like sharing, so to eat we had the Crispy Cauliflower appetizer, Mutabbal Dip, Spinach Fatayer and Kibbeh. We finished our meal with Syrian Tea for 2 and Knafeh. Admittedly, I love their food. The cauliflower came with pomegranate sauce (yummy!), the mutabbal dip made of eggplant was creamy and punched with flavor. The kibbeh is well seasoned beef and the crispiest outside shell. Their knafeh was perfect for sharing, crunchy on the outside and gooey cheese melted in the middle. Service was nice, it wasn't too busy for mid-week and there were two ladies who were looking after everyone front of house. They made sure to check on us frequently and we got up to pay when we were ready. It's definitely a different atmosphere from the previous location with the white walls and pink tables, this location is giving cabin. But hey, the food is good! read more

This was a nice warm place to hang out for an hour before meeting a friend for dinner. Location was formerly a pub judging by the interior. Staff were very friendly. My mocktail was too sweet and needed diluting. Baklava portion for $4 seemed small. Like bite-sized brownie small. Also wasn't good. read more

I came in here for lunch after getting my haircut nearby. Beautiful, warm decor and the staff was attentive. I ordered the Kafta wrap as well as hummus and pita chips. I was also given a complimentary tea. I enjoyed everything, from the hummus to the wrap. I discovered later that they have a 15% lunch discount. I would definitely come here again if I were in the area. read more

Ambiance is quaint. It feels like a decent, small sit down spot but it wasn't necessarily giving off a particular ambiance. Service was a bit odd. There were large parties when we went, but it was not super busy. As we were looking for food in the neighborhood, we walked in on a whim with no reservation. Our server brought us to a table, told us we had an hour before they needed the table for their next reservation. That was fine, however, after we ordered, they never came back to check in with us or tell us that the food would take a while. As we only had an hour to sit there, 30 minutes were spent waiting, guessing, hoping our food would come soon. The redeeming factor of this experience was delicious food! We enjoyed our Mujaddara plates and managed to scarf down our meal within the half hour we actually had. Would recommend the food here but make a reservation or get it to go. The sit in experience was not the best experience, given the time limit for the table. read more

Attended the grand opening and was truly amazed! A female owned new restaurant and she was able to pull magic! They had a full day entertainment schedule on top of offering the full menu and full bar service. They succeeded in all aspects. They were very busy with lineups and still were able to manage the load with a smile. All serving staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I can't wait to go back on a regular day because if they could pull off what they pulled off last night, I can imagine what normal would be like! And the food is very authentic Syrian, the usual Arabic fare but also different items like lamb shank pieces in broth with yogurt, forgot the name and must try the Musakhan rolls! I was SUPER impressed by the Dip Trio, and their in-house chips are also drool worthy. I had leftover Crispy Cauliflower, and they were really good after a few minutes in the air fryer. They have super friendly staff and cute pink tables for dining in. They also offer vegetarian, vegan, halal, dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free option, and they also cater. -Chicken Fatteh ($26): super creamy, and I think there are chips inside (gets soggy, but does add texture). Chicken is tender, on a bed of rice. -Slow Cooked Lamb ($29): tad bit dry, but the flavour was good. -Tabbouleh ($14): one of the best tabbouleh I've tried! So fresh. -Crispy Cauliflower ($15): loved this! -Dip Trio $20 (Hummus, Mutabbal (Eggplant) & Mhammara (Red Pepper) Dip) 10/10 -Arabic Coffee $8 (2 servings): Cardamom spiced! if that's your thing. We came here for a special Lebanon fundraiser where they offered Fatteh which was not on the menu. The place is very cozy inviting and bustling - clearly a favorite. Waiters are great, friendly and informative. The appetizers are amazing and we ordered lots of them. - fried cauliflower - this was SOOO good that we had to order an extra order!! - Mutabbal, hummus and red tomato dip - the dips and the pita were both excellent. The Mutabbal has such a great eggplant flavour. - Fatteh - special of the day, great chickpea flavour. - kibbeh - probably my favorite besides the cauliflower. Really good meat flavour and texture. We ordered two mains only since we ate lots of appetizers. The lamb and the kebab (beef balls). They are both good, though I found the meat slightly dry. Portions are bigger than it appears as 5 of us just finished. Also had the lady bracelet dessert which is like baklava. Pretty good. Rice pudding is good too. Would definitely come back. I don't know why the reviews are so positive...could be because these gals have a great story, social media presence, and people want to support refugees. I'm just here to talk about food and service. Staff were friendly, but the falafels did not taste as if they were fried to order. I've been eating falafels in this city for years, I've had em all, and barburrito has better falafels than this place. Definitely the worst of any sit down restaurant I've ever been to. My friends suffered through their meals as well, said they'd never go back. They also forgot part of our order...and it wasn't even busy. Go to Mazahr, Nuba, Shawarma cafe, Al Basha, Planted Love, I mean this city is full of amazing middle eastern food, there is competition, and this place really fell short. Heard about this catering company turned restaurant and we were intrigued! Last night they held a fundraiser (raising funds for Lebanon) and we tried so many of their appies and dinner plate and dessert. So many beautiful flavours, great service and the food came out very quick. We had Knafeh (cheese with syrup) and it was amaaaaaazing. If you want to be impressed, try their brunch. For $25 per person, you get a huge spread of Syrian staples - hummus, falafel, foul, and more. All served with your choice of tea and coffee, and dessert. Their packaged products were also delicious. Their pita chips were literally the best I ever had; and it was all fairly affordable as well. We had dinner at Tayybeh last night for the first time and we were so impressed with everything about it. The food was AMAZING, and staff were WONDERFUL. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and charming. We tried several dishes and it is difficult to say which was our favorite, but the lamb and chicken fattah were particularly delicious. We used Tayybeh to cater for a workshop of 40 people. Lunch was a huge hit for all our participants. The food was absolutely delicious and it was easy to have a selection of dishes that catered to food preferences and allergies. We added cookies to the order at the last minute and are so happy we did. They melted in our mouths and the flavours were amazing. I wish we had ordered more. The communication and logistics of planning the event was very easy. They were very responsive and helpful in helping us come up with the perfect menu. I would definitely use them again. read more

Tayybeh catered a surprise birthday dinner for my aunt and 15 of our family members, in my home. Planning the dinner was easy with Rana's help. The food arrived hot, in sturdy containers and right on time. The whole dinner was delicious - our family is Lebanese and everything tasted home made. The servings were very generous, and everything was fresh, well spiced and very flavourful. The kibbeh was very moist, and the chicken dish was outstanding.
