when I am in the "south" I almost always defer to southern comfort food. so when I was searching for where to dine tonight everything kept pointing to this falafel house. i was like?!? when you think Knoxville, TN you don't immediately think Mediterranean food. but I trust yelp and so I chose to dine at Yassin's Falafel House. oh holy F it's literally, maybe, probably the best flavors I've ever experienced...EVER. any meal. I mean that. hands down the best shawarma and baba ganoush. the garlic sauce they serve on the side was what dreams are made of. the staff were on it, kind and efficient. My food was made to order quickly. I witnessed dozens of to-go orders as I dined, everyone served fresh as they arrived to pick-up. plus their inclusivity mission is as impassioned a statement by a restaurant I've ever come across. definitely the most inviting dining experience I've experienced in a very long time. truly worthy of destination dining. We were visiting the area from Alabama and craving some Mediterranean food to bring back to our Air b n b. We placed a pickup order from Yassin's for 4. Our meals included chicken plates, a gyro and falafel. The food was incredibly flavorful and the portions were huge. The folks at the restaurant were very nice and our food was ready when promised. I absolutely enjoyed our meal here. When we first walked in, the person behind the register was there to greet us. His energy was just so welcoming and friendly. We had ordered the chicken shawarma, the gyro, 1 side of fries and 2 baklavas and the total came out to $40. The chicken shawarma was absolutely delicious. I had ordered it spicy and the flavors were great. The gyro was also delicious. Both were packed with meat and they did not skimp out on that. The fries are definitely large enough to share. The baklava was so good. Flaky, sweet with the honey and pistachio texture was just divine. The chicken garlic sauce is amazing on the chicken sandwich, comes on a pita. You have to try it. I got the regular spice, comes in regular or spicy hot. We were actually going to eat next door and the sign caught our eyes. So we walked in and the menu looked really good! We ordered the falafel sandwich and the gyros sandwich with a side of fries. The portions are huge and thankfully because our lunch was $34. We could not eat it all so we took it to go after eating half. The fries are delicious and have a little spice on them. I would get an extra side of taziki sauce for dipping. The gyro was full of meat! The pita was warm and soft. The toppings were delicious! The falafel was fresh and crispy with lots of flavor. The service was face and friendly. The restaurant is order at the counter and then take a seat. The decor is colorful and clean. I would recommend this place! read more

This place is awesome. My son and husband love their chicken shawarma! I've had the falafel which is great and I loved their Greek Salad. It was amazing! The best thing though is their baklava. Let me tell you i am so happy this place is near by, my first experience was the Knoxville location which of course was ok experience. I had originally the shawarma but with this go around I tried the gyro. The meat is so juicy rice was not dry at all and of course I figure let me add some feta and an extra pita next time I will add extra meat .it was an easy process of ordering and pretty quick just had to wait maybe not even 5 mins. We heard about Yassin's a few weeks ago and really like Mediterranean and Middle Eastern type food so gave it a try. We enjoyed the food and look forward to trying a few more options. Like many takeout type restaurants, the prices seem a bit on the high side. I used my card and not a fan of the machines asking for the 15, 20, 25% tip before you even get your food at a self serve type place. I left 20% because we decided to eat there and everyone behind the counter greeted but won't do that again. They brought he tray to our table--no other service. I realized when I sat down, that the ticket they gave me wasn't even a receipt but only named the items we ordered. read more

I have been waiting so long for them to open and I'm glad they're now here in Blount Co. Placed my to go order of the chicken plate. Lovely marinated chicken with seasoned rice, smoky baba ghanoush, one delightfully fresh falafel and pita. I always have extra pita at home because I know I'll want more and don't want to pay for extra. Yes, I'm frugal that way. Anyway, I also had extra white garlic sauce on the side. It's delicious as well. I could eat that on a flip flop (Guy Fieri would say) I was not disappointed about anything! Every component is so flavorful and fresh. I know the prices look steep but this one meal fed me three times. (including my own pita). I plan on making this my Friday night stop from now on. Well, now that I think of it, I'll have to bring my co-workers for lunch too since I've been harping on this for weeks. I need to prove my point. I really cannot say enough good things about this small, local chain. Yassin himself is incredibly generous and community-minded. The restaurant's falafel is amongst the very best I've had outside the Middle East. It is healthy food in a casual, place-your-order-at-the-counter atmosphere. It really is a Blount County treasure, and very conveniently located. Travelers to Townsend and the Great Smoky Mountains should call ahead and get a giant take-out order for the cabin, camp, or picnic. read more

They're really nice, consistent, and the food is amazing. Prices are fair too. I highly recommend it. They've gotten things on my order wrong a couple of times, it happens when you go to a place enough, but they are always easy to work with if there's an issue. They won't lose my business easily! I'm a huge fan of Yassin's, I go at least once a week to any of the 3 locations and they're awesome! I always get the chicken plate and my it is spectacular. The only problem is at the Alcoa location the give a lot less rice than they do at the other two locations. At the cedar bluff and downtown locations it is almost double the amount of rice. Everything is delicious I just wish there was a little more rice with it at the Alcoa location. read more

I decided to try the new store in Maryville. I am a huge fan of the other two in Knoxville and I have never had a problem. What a disappointment!! The lobby was a nightmare. I ordered the chicken plate. Unfortunately there was a hair in my plate. The trash needed to be changed. The tables were filthy. I saw most of the employees on their phones. If I could give this store a zero I would. Yassin is a wonderful business owner but this store is going down hill from the looks of it. I will not be back to say the least. read more
