Chicken shawarma bowl with most of the fixings.
Jon L.

It was a cold rainy day, so I was looking for a place to shawarm up! I found Naf Naf Grill, a fast-casual Mediterranean eatery offering the expected faire. I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl with hummus, basmati rice, onions, cabbage, pickles and for sauces, the garlic, tahini, and s'khug. S'khug, while not an appetizing name, is a tasty jalapeño-based sauce that is similar to a chimichurri. I like that they spread the hummus around the bowl first before adding ingredients, rather than slap a blob on top. What that does is it allows the hummus to be imparted in every bite. The chicken had a nice seasoning as did the vegetables and rice. I would love to see a steak shawarma instead of the grilled steak they offer though. The guys behind the counter were helpful walking us through the order. While the price was a bit on the high end for a bowl, the flavors were right on.

I love this place!! We had Naf Naf when I lived in MN but there aren't any out in Phoenix where we moved. I was here in Knoxville visiting a friend when I was browsing through what restaurants were in the area and discovered there was a Naf Naf nearby. I had the Steak half romaine lettuce & half Basmati rice bowl and added the chopped salad, sumac onions, garlic sauce, s'khug & harissa sauce. I also added a scoop of hummus and added 1 falafel. Delicious, just how I remembered it! Naf Naf, please open locations in the Phoenix area!

Falafel, cous cous, rice, shawarma chicken, cabbage, pickles

We ordered 2 plates through door dash. Upon opening the bag everything looked really good(see pictures) but that's where the good ended. The rice was crunchy, the falafel was fishy tasting and everything was COLD not cool but cold. The bread was a dough ball in the center and the baklava was squished so tight in plastic wrap it was smashed. The highlight of the entire meal was the cold shawarma chicken and the hummus. We paid $50.00 + tip for this meal and I hope that it might be better in person because this store is a door dash pass. Naf Naf is a no no. Do better because I'd love to write a positive review.

Bowls and fries

I had heard about this spot as a healthy quick lunch on Cedar Bluff. The menu lets you pick a stuffed pita, bowl or hummus lined bowl. The choice of proteins are falafel, steak or chicken shawarma (not spicy). You can get couscous, salad, rice or hummus as your base. You will have the choice of toppings like purple cabbage, sumac onions, parsley-tomato-cucumber, pickles, more hummus, garlicky sauce (winner), harissa, tahini and several more. You really can't miss on the fresh add on pita for $1. They have several al a carte sides: fries, soup, or more rice. The service was great and they are accommodating to answer your questions about ingredients. Great healthy lunch and prices put it right in line with chipotle.

This place is awesome. If you enjoy Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurants, Naf Naf is a cut above with fresh/healthy ingredients and unique sauces! In my view, it is similar to the way that Chipotle has presented Mexican food (or Tandur with Indian food, another favorite of mine). In this case, it is higher quality Mediterranean-style that you can get quickly. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Baba Ghanoush bowl with Middle Eastern Pickles and tablouli. Just excellent in every way. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the baba ghanoush (similar to hummus - but made of eggplant) was very tasty. We also ordered the pick 2 plate with chicken and steak. This was also quite good. Not like the greasy or heavy food you might see at some gyro shops. Although new, Naf Naf is on my short list of favorites. Food quality, price, and service were excellent. The owner, Nick, also seemed to be a really nice guy. Show this place some love and help them to succeed now that Knoxville is opening back up after the shutdown! Overall: Highly Recommended. Great new restaurant.

Nag Naf Grill- You did not disappoint. Your pitas were so soft and pillowy, your chicken shawarma meat was delicious and savory, your veggies were fresh and crispy ; and your baba ghanoush was smokey and flavorful. The game changer was that garlic sauce- it's like all of my hopes and dreams had a love child that I could use to top a salad or smear on a pita. I'll definitely be back!

The staff, service, and quality of food are great at this location of Naf Naf. The new spicy hummus was great on my chicken pita.

I was craving Mediterranean food and our usual spot is closed on Sundays, so we came here. The food was delicious and fast, but the place was super busy and loud. They were also too busy that they didn't have time to clean the tables and floor (COVID probably hasn't helped with their staffing). Next time, if the place is too busy, I'll order it to-go and snag the assorted baklava! The baklava was soooo good and I can't help myself whenever I see it.

Want to start of by saying I'd not come here again. While the food looks very appealing it's definitely not as good as it looks. Everything was very bland and cold. Nothing tasted close to authentic. Hummus and pita were the only acceptable food items here. Also very expensive for what you get... Staff, especially the older lady was very rude (I didn't get her name). They made me feel rushed and were agitated when I would ask questions. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know.

This is the same concept as chipotle. I have to say the selection options are a lot of fun. The staff serving the food was not fun or pleasant. I ordered a bowl and got lots of unique toppings. It was a good experience but didn't wow me.

Board with incorrect pricing.

Located in an established strip mall by a high-traffic intersection at Kingston Pike and S. Peter's, Greens and Grains is easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking. The interior is spotlessly clean (including the restrooms!) and comprised of two connected dining areas and kitchens. One has a trendy, airy feel with cool green and white tones, while the other is darker with metal and wood elements, a game area, and a large open grill/prep area. The reason for the two different vibes was not immediately clear to me. Actually, it never became more clear during the hour or so I spent there, but I can appreciate a good mystery. This is NOT a fast food joint. In fact, it is slow. Agonizingly slow if you're in a hurry. This is a place to come when you are with a group of people you find highly entertaining (or when you heft along a great book) and don't mind waiting. After ordering two sandwiches and sides, my friend and I waited almost 20 minutes for our food to appear at our table. The macaroni salad was pleasantly flavorful, without the overcooked noodles and runny sauce so often found with this deli counter staple. The turkey and Brie was also good and grilled to buttery-crisp perfection. The sandwich, side, and a drink cost just under $20, so it's neither bargain-priced nor exotic, but fresh ingredients are not cheap. Only one employee was working in each of the two halves of the restaurant, so I imagine if they want to speed up their service, they are going to need to schedule more people. The two employees were both delightfully friendly, though, and they aren't just paying lip service to customer service, a goal plainly outlined on all the napkin dispensers and evidenced by their actions. Despite the slow service, I'm giving them a 5 for their dedication to quality ingredients and excellent customer service. I hope they make it for the long haul, and I'll definitely be back soon.

Plus, the purchase price of their chips goes to charity - it was fun picking our charity of choice. Service was excellent! The staff was enthusiastic and I must add "adorable". I'm returning next week.

Just right. The Tangerine Aleppo drink was refreshing with a tiny peppery kick. It was busy for dinner on Friday and it seems people were waiting a bit for their to-go orders but they did a good job of keeping the line inside moving. We were making 3 different bowls and there was a misunderstanding on the main. They added steak to the wrong bowl and remade it for me which is very much appreciated. It's a great place to go to get a lot of southern comfort foods, some with nice twists as well, and it has a full bar, and open for all meals I believe. We went years ago to the first location in Knoxville, maybe a few times, but felt "been there done that" as more and more good restaurants came downtown. Happy to see this new location, closer to a lot of things we do in west Knox. I had a GREAT lunch. Bloody Mary, then one of their low-cost specials ($11 for a half sandwich and side, basically). The sandwich was hot chicken with ranch and pickles and it was scrumptious. I had a problem choosing sides- so many great options including brussel sprouts, fried okra, Mac&cheese and salads.....I finally chose the green beans with bacon. Oh, they were soooo good. I could have made my meal just that and some cornbread. Next time I may get a veggie platter or just get extra sides, gotta try the others to see if they are cooked as well. So how can I not give that 5 stars?
