The location for this stop was perfect traveling between Knoxville and Rocky Top. The food was so good we stopped twice in the same three day trip! What could improve? LOL! EVERYTHING could improve! What used to cost $14.99 for a veggie plate and a drink is now nearly twice as much. In the mood for Greek, I decided to try Taziki's, which is a name I recognized having gone to one in Chattanooga some time ago. I ordered a grilled lamb gyro and grilled chicken with a Mediterranean salad. Mediterranean food needs to have fresh vegetables, and Taziki's did. While the grilled chicken wasn't the most flavorful, I enjoyed the lamb meat in the gyro. The rice had a lemon-y flavor and had some interesting spices I couldn't put my finger on. However, the pita was very chewy and somewhat tough, meaning it wasn't as fresh as it could have been. Also, the potato chips were a very uninteresting side, but it helped to dip a few in tzatziki (not Taziki). The tasty lamb and fresh vegetables will bring me back but the pita kept this from being a five star review. read more

Love loved being there today! The staff was WONDERFUL, the salads my friend and I had were super! FRESH, tasty and flavorful. If you follow me at all you know I have a potential 'ER trip' allergy. The staff was great about it and even brought me the seasoning containers to review. I feel awful to not remember the terrific gentleman who made sure we were clear on ingredients. The young lady (Stephine?) that took our order has some great ideas & suggestions for our add ons. My friend and I were amazed how wonderful she was to us, she had been working there about a year she mentioned. My friend and I had not seen each other in awhile and we hung around for several hours. Stopped by local Knoxville, Tennessee Taziki's one of three locations in the area. I ordered the tomato basil soup came with slices of pita came in a decent size . Also ordered the roasted red potatoes really good. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice. Everything was well prepared. My meal was to go and everything was wrapped correctly. Really wanted to fall in love with this place as we have one of the Best Greek restaurants in San Antonio Texas called Demo's Greek Food & it has been run by a Greek family for about 45 years. And I Realize how spoiled I was!! This was chopped up bits of lamb with fat ribbons attached so much so I spit out most of my meat due to I couldn't chew, break down enough. Stopped in for a "quick" casual lunch. They offer daily specials, along with soups, salads, sides, sandwiches and desserts. After scanning the menu, I opted for the Mediterranean Salad. The cashier greeted me with a warm and friendly Hello, took my order, verified it and issued me a number to be displayed on my table. Moments later a server approached my table with a smile, verified my order and placed the meal table side. So we have always ordered the family meal to go: chicken, potatoes, salad, pitas. It's always good and plenty of food but tonight we went in to try the regular menu. Was blown away! Got the basil pesto gyro and it was unbelievably good. Generous portion with chips and a side! Husband ordered the lamb gyro and was also raving about it. At one point we looked at each other, wide-eyed, wondering why we hadn't ever dined in before. He said that he even liked their rice better than most. I stuck with the potatoes sides since I had them before. But let me tell you about the whipped feta appetizer. The guy at the register recommended it as his favorite appetizer and he did not steer us wrong. It is SO good. Honey drizzle? C'mon now. And of course soft pitas - I don't mess with the crunchy pitas. I think you can also pair the dips with veggies. Kids meals were a hit: chicken and cheese wrapped in a pita (Greek-style grilled cheese) with fruit. Kind of healthy, right? We also noticed that there weren't any trash cans around... It seems that they come around and clean up everything which is so nice. Place was very clean and workers were nice and friendly. I was super pumped to find this restaurant because everyone knows that Mediterranean food is the best food in the world. While Taziki's has the basics: kebabs, Greek salad, tzatziki, etc it's just ok. The tzatziki is actually really good but everything else is just ok. Instead of serving pitas they serve a large pita chip. ‍ I went back a second time to see if maybe it would be better and somehow the cashier overcharged me and when I got home I had the wrong food. Thrown together with absolutely no love, Cincy materials and the meat was not really gyro meat. It was some kind of tasteless Patty. As a first time guest, I had a very favorable impression. You step up to a large menu board, decide what you want, and walk down to the register to pay for it. The cashier gives you a number card for a dining room employee to locate you and serve your meal. There's an open kitchen in front of the register, which made it a bit noisy. The dining room has seating for large and small groups. My wife and I sat on the end of the large group table. I had their Tuesday special, which was a pork loin sandwich dressed with mixed greens and sauce (I forgot the particular variety), served on a brioche bun with chips. I opted for the healthier cucumber and tomato salad for my side. My meal was very tasty. The pork was cut thin, no fat, and grilled nicely. The mixed greens were fresh, and the sauce was the perfect, albeit messy, seasoning. My salad was a unique side dish that accompanied my sandwich perfectly, although I ate the chips too. We also purchased a piece of Baklava. It is a very tiny piece, just a few bites, but it was good. A nice sweet treat to finish the meal. Got dinner take out from here on a weekday after workout with friends. A lot of parking spots, not so many people in the restaurant. All the staffs are nice and friendly. Overall everything we have ever gotten from Taziki's has been excellent. I'm such a fan of their tomato-basil sandwich. It's the feta cheese on this sandwich that really puts it over the top. With chips and a side included it is an excellent value. My husband gets their salmon a lot, and it is insanely good, especially for a chain restaurant. The salmon is generous in size and the price is much better than most restaurants. The only thing we have ever gotten there that we just could not eat is their highly touted tomato bisque. It was very spicy- too much so for either of us, so $10.00 worth of soup went into the trash. I took one star away for this reason BECAUSE their website makes no mention of the fact the bisque is spicy. They would do their customers a favor to include that information. read more

I stopped in on a whim for lunch on 8/30 at 1:30. Wow! My salad was amazing! The salmon was cooked perfectly and everything was fresh and flavorful. I'm a fan for sure! The cafe is clean and provides a nice atmosphere for lunch (The AC could be adjusted. I went to my car for a sweater and most people had on sweaters or were selecting tables away for the AC vents.). It wasn't very busy and I was the 3rd person in line with nobody behind me. The lady taking orders approached us as if she was short staffed with 50 people in line. No eye contact, a bit curt as she barked questions and directions and started barking at the next customer before the one she was helping could even pick up their number and cup. When she brought my food she literally dropped my plate on the table and grabbed by number as she turned around. I said thank you and smiled, no response. Perhaps she was having a bad day. Not huge problems, but if I was the owner I'd work on her customer service skills and save a few bucks on the AC by turning it up a notch. read more

I've been wanting to dine at Taziki's, (mainly, because I love feta cheese), and finally got the chance! The restaurant overall was warm and inviting. I like the way it was both bright and dark to give you a Mediterranean feel. The customer service was really great and they seemed really happy to serve us and answer questions. I ordered the Wednesday special: Spanakopita Roll-Up which is grilled chicken, fresh spinach and feta in a griddled flour tortilla, served with fresh salsa. It was good but I felt it was a little dry and lacked something. I would have loved for it to come with Taziki sauce on it, (I ended up getting it on the side), but the salsa was a good addition. If I ever get it again, I'll request to add tomatoes. The highlight of my dish was my cucumber and tomato salad. It was cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and feta cheese and a Greek dressing. I ended up dipping my wrap in that dressing as well. It was delicious! My husband got the lamb and skordalia gyro, (no skordalia), and he said it was delicious,(it looked amazing)! The lamb was tender and well seasoned. We finished our meal by splitting a piece of Baklava...and then got a piece to go for later. It was that amazing! First experience with Taziki's was at the Powell location. I recently started working in West Knox and am so excited to have Tazikis down the road!! My husband and I dreamed about our next opportunity to get these lamb gyros and pasta salad!! Happy to report my first day working we had Tazikis to go for dinner!
