I was told this place was amazing, so I had to give it a try. The guy working there was really nice and greeted everyone as they walked in, which was a nice touch. I ordered the lamb gyro, a side of the tzatziki sauce, and the pasta salad. The tzatziki had a very strong garlic flavor -- honestly a little too strong for me and not quite like the traditional sauce I was expecting. Went to Allison's on Black Friday evening, while everyone was out shopping mad, I headed over and tried out this local gem. They specialize in gyros, burgers, party melts and subs and several signature items including stuffed Pitas and Subs. I went with gyro combo. We frequent naf naf for schwarma bowls served chipotle style. Also Yassins is great for this caregory in Knoxville. However, Aladdin's exceeding my expectations. The fries were crisp golden and the gyro was delicately layered with lamb, tziziki, fresh onion, tomato and lettuce. The flavor was there and although fries aren't the most healthy, these weren't to be wasted. The interior was spotless and I could see why the 100 hung on the health score report. The gentleman running the restaurant took our order and was extremely pleasant and friendly. We ordered the gyro with feta and a side of tzatziki. The pita was so fresh...did they just make it, idk. If anyone remembers the old Penn Station that was here before, it was a place you went in once and never came back. I'm so thankful Aladdin's moved across town from Central and Woodland to where he is now, right in the heart of West Hills. The sandwiches are fire: steak in a sack, falafel, gyro, cheeseburger heaven, etc, and not to mention they have one of my favorite sides Fried Okra!! It was so good!! I LOVED the chicken shawarma they had! My mom got the chicken gyro and they did NOT disappoint! The food was spot-on and the fries were seasoned so well, there's no doubt about the authenticity. The taziki was amazing and everything they make is made in-house (I suspected as much, and later the owner confirmed this). The care they provide is so good as well. Not only did the cook come out to check on us, but so did the owner. Amazing service! Negative? The good first. The place is very clean. Its a quiet diner with an amicable owner who always asks how your food was. Its never a long wait to order or to get your meal which is often an advantage of diners. The menu has some great sandwiches, gyros, and subs. I like to get things like the Chicken Philly, Shawarma, or lamb gyros. The main food is always good. The bad. The crinkle cut fries that you can get as a side are just okay as they aren't seasoned (or well enough for me to taste it) so I always get some dipping sauce too. The prices are just too high for diner food. Last time I get a chicken shawarma pita, fries, and a fountain drink for $18. There are places in town that make comparable food that are much cheaper than this and amazing. There is a little sign by the register claiming that you get a discount if you pay in cash instead of card, but I tried this one day (ordering the same thing I ordered before) and was charged the same price while handing over my cash. I like the food here and its close to where I live but with these prices I just don't think I can do it. read more

This was my first time eating a falafel. It was seasoned to perfection and surprisingly very filling. For those who don't know (I didn't) a falafel is deep fried chickpeas or fava beans or both. This ball of goodness had a very flaky and crunchy exterior with a soft and chewy interior. The tahini sauce had a bit of a zing to it and was very tasty. The breaded okra tasted like some thing my great grandma would make. The seasoning was spot on and although they were fried, they didn't have a greasy feel or taste. I wouldn't eat here regularly because we typically don't eat fried food. But, this spot is great to satisfy any fried cravings or if you just want to try something new. read more

Five star review left a few months ago is now redacted. One star only because I can't give zero. Update: I decided to eat in at Aladdin's today since there was nobody else using the dining room. Imagine my shock and frustration when this dude comes out from the back with no mask on. He walked around the entire dining area with no mask on to pick up the wet floor signs, coming within four feet of my table. Lost my appetite, put my mask back on, and left.
