$1000. PER HOUR!!! On the morning of July 21st 2026 I discovered the previous days storm had downed a tree on the east side of my home. The top of the tree was directly on top of my neighbors Air Conditioning unit on the west of his house. I could have done this job myself but was unable to because I had surgery a week before. With great concern for my neighbors A/C unit, hoping it wasn't destroyed, I was well motivated to get this job done ASAP! I quickly made calls to find a local tree service to remove the tree. Instead of leaving messages I chose to keep dialing until someone picked up the phone. Yavapai Landscaping was the first to pick up the phone. I spoke with a very nice lady. I sent her several pictures. Shortly after that she called back giving me an estimate of $3500. and advised I would have to pay up front. I knew immediately I was getting ripped off big time! The crew arrived within 2 hours. Two workers completed the job in three hours. That equates to $1000. per hour! Thankfully the top of the tree, although covering it completely, had only brushed up against the AC unit without causing damage. I called the company and asked for the owner to call me. The owner called me. I asked him to personally come to my house and talk to me. I was hoping he could look me in the eye and tell me he did not rip me off. The owner called. We had a respectful conversation, which ended due to service disruption, without a call back! I found I was talking with someone who was NOT listening to what I saying, instead kept controlling the conversation like a fine tuned salesman...which did not work on me at all! All he did was justify his outrageous act of price gouging on this job, telling me $3500 to $5500 was a normal charge for these types of jobs. The next day I made contact with other tree service companies and got quotes for the same job using the same photos I had sent to YL. They all agreed I was way over charged! The highest quote I got was $2000. for Emergency Service and between $1200 - 1500. under normal circumstances. I DON'T LIKE TO LEAVE ANYTHING BUT STELLAR REVIEWS. HOWEVER, IN THIS CASE THE PUBLIC MUST KNOW HOW I GOT RIPPED OFF BY YOUR COMPANY. YOUR PEERS IN THIS SMALL TOWN ALSO AGREE TO YOUR PRICE GOUGING. read more

I paid Yavapai Landscaping $200,000 to put in my entire back yard! I paid $2500 for a cad plan to submit to my HOA for approval. The owner assured me that his staff would go to my HOA personally to get approval! He said they have done many houses on my street and they work well with the hOA and know their procedures! I found out a year after the back yard was installed that Yavapai never got an approval for my project !!! They know working with my hOA always requires submitting their forms and getting approval! now I am facing fines, numerous letters, and grief! Yavapai Landscaping won't return my calls or emaild! We thought we were losing a tree but, no, Lester quickly determined that it just wasn't getting enough water! Then they were on to straightening a young tree the wind was playing havoc with. I just had Yavapai Landscaping do maintenance on my yard and it was the best I ever had. My yard looks fantastic. They trimmed/pruned, cleaned up all the leaves, blew out the yard/patio, leveled a few high 1" rock ground cover spots, fertilize the front and backyard, set my timer for the drip system, and checked all the drip heads and set them appropriately. I contacted with the company to do landscape removal and irrigation system repairs and upgrades. Before they arrived my wife and I removed a significant amount of the landscape because they delayed in their arrival for weeks. When I requested an adjustment in the contract I got resistance and decided to accept their meager reduction just to get past it. The work was slow, they spent more time on their cell phones than working. A language barrier kept me from getting desired results. The company vice president was very kind and respectful, however, the results were not satisfactory. I continued to remove manure from under the bushes long after they "completed" the job. One section of the irrigation still doesn't work. I will not recommend Yavapai Landscaping. read more
