    Boba

Meh. I came here for boba with a group of friends. There wasn't anyone else there, so the service was pretty fast. The drink itself was not good - boba was chewy, and milk tea was bland and tasted like a starchy water. The location isn't super obvious, but you'll find it if you walk around a bit. Atmosphere wise, it's a lovely place. Vibes are cozy, and they have an aesthetic wall to take pictures. Don't go there for the boba though

Atmosphere: Yaya Tea is a warm, bright boba shop in the Golden Belt Campus. There are lots of tables inside among the cute decor. Service: Despite being the only customers in the store, we waited 40 minutes for our drink to come out. When we asked about our order after around 20 minutes, we were told that they never received our order or payment despite us showing them our receipt and bank statement. We then waited another 20 minutes for them to figure out and make our actual drink order. Food: We ordered a First Love, which is a mango peach tea with lychee. For a 40 minute wait, this drink was definitely not worth it. It was way too sweet and had no other additional flavor. Overall: The atmosphere of Yaya Tea is nice, but beyond that, the service and drinks were a big let down. There are plenty of other boba shops in the Triangle to adequately satisfy your boba cravings.

Was at work and before I was about to leave I saw Yaya Tea and thought if they Thai tea I'm getting some. Low and below they did, so I got a large cup.

Newest Boba Tea place in Downtown Durham. It's located in an interested location surrounded by office spaces, but unfortunately isnt' very walkable. The interior is cute and provides opportunities for IG photos if you're looking for that! Now.. down to the tea! I've tried to the standards black and jasmine milk tea and when comparing to other boba shops, Yaya has a strong tea presence. Unfortunately, the boba hasn't been on point; often being hard/too chewy. Still if your favorite part of boba milk tea is the tea, I would give Yaya a try!

The location is hard to find. We drove around for 20 minutes trying to find it. Once you do, you're met with a cute, small little place. I got the gyoza and the sauce was really good. I also got the rice balls and I was very happy with them. I got a sunrise tea with strawberry boba. I recommend getting 50% sweetness cause that's what I did and it was very sweet. The chicken rice ball is really good. The prices are high, but that's everywhere right now. What I liked about the service was there was a tablet where you can order and avoid a line. But you still have the option of ordering in person if you want. Food came out in 15 minutes. Weird amount of one direction playing but who am I to judge ‍

Delicious tea and rice balls. The inside is very clean and cute. I always come here whenever i want a rice ball. The last time i came i noticed the sanitation score was a B. First time I've ever seen a B. Other than that this location is great

Workers were really sweet, area is a little hard to find but the boba was really good! if you like sweet i would suggest to get 100% sugar other than thay the place is nicely decorated!

Great boba tea. I enjoyed it. The service was quick you only have to go to the kiosk and make your order. The price was reasonable.

When you arrive parking can be a bit tricky in this area as you'll need to find parking on the street or in a nearby parking lot. When you arrive the entrance can be a bit hard to find as it's tucked away down a cobblestone road. Look for the "m" logo outside of the door of the restaurant. You'll check in with the host when you arrive, and for this trip we opted to sit at the bar. When you walk into M sushi you'll feel like you've stepped into an underground, relaxed hangout for sushi. To start I ordered the Mizuwari (Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky, elderfower liqueur, and tonic) which was perfectly balanced and a great way to start the meal. Following that the omakase service started with miso soup which was hot and fresh, followed by the different pieces of sushi. There was a variety from blue fin tuna, to sea bream, to Norwegian Sea trout. My favorite was a tie between the seared salmon belly and toro blue fin. We also ordered a bottle of Born Gold Junmai Daliginjo (Rich, smooth, fruit and grain forward) which paired excellently with the meal. This was a fun experience as it was my first time trying Omakase and looking forward to my next trip to M Sushi.

We started off with their sodas made in-house, one being green apple and the other being grapefruit. They were okay. The grapefruit one kind of tasted like apple cider vinegar. We tried them because a soda was $6 and there were no free refills. I find that a strange decision but this could be personal preference. We got a mixture of the small plates and rolls including the nigiri (delightful!), tuna crispy rice (my 2nd favorite), dumplings, bao bun (one cut in half), the rainbow roll, and the unagi roll. While I thought the nigiri and tuna crispy rice were amazing - both tasted fresh - overall, the food was just fine. I think our experience could just be based on pure preference. I found the sushi to be good but not the best I have ever had as some other Yelpers have experienced.

We pre-booked the Omakase menu, a fixed price tasting menu that was honestly a deal regarding price point. We would have been satisfied with the first seven dishes even before we got to the tempura tasting. Standouts included scallop toast, chawanmushi, and scallop tartare. At this point we were more than content with what we already sampled but committed to finish. The tempura featured prawns, lotus root, lobster and more scallop. And if that's not enough, we were presented with a miso marinated sea bass in a rice bowl garnished with nori, wasabi and pickled daikon. We finished with a divine ginger ice cream, perfect in size , flavor and consistency. M Tempura is your choice if you're seeking an intimate spot featuring well crafted, delicate flavors with attention to detail. This experience was a memorable one.

Not too bright nor dim. Our waiter, Dylan, really treated us well. Before we ordered anything, Dylan gave us each a very, warm terry-cloth wash cloth for our face and hands. Nice touch. We just had water to drink, but that's okay. My husband's entree was very spicy! We began with the Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura. The shrimp was quite fresh, and the flavor gave a great mouthful of taste and some oiliness (but, not dripping). Flavor! Also, we ordered Negimaki, which are grilled beef-wrapped scallions with teriyaki sauce. One bite is the way to eat those. Love the chopsticks, too. We were each served Miso Soup and two small salads (with ginger dressing). Sure did like that (the soup had good flavor, but was a bit salty for our tastes.) My entree was Teriyaki. I am not familiar with a lot of Japanese dishes, but I do know this flavor. I ordered the Steak. This came with stir fried vegetables with a good flavor of cabbage. I liked those. White rice completed my dish. My husband ordered the Spicy Seafood Udon. This proved to be more spicy than it appeared. This dish included vegetables, udon noodles, shrimp, hokkaido scallops, squid, green mussels, in a savory & spicy garlic butter sauce. We had food leftover, so we got some containers and packed them for home. We will come back here, and perhaps eat outside (sure, the view is of a parking lot), but the high tables and the torchieres give it a nice atmosphere - perhaps as the weather turns cooler, we will enjoy being outside. We spent over $100 without alcohol. Prepare for that, but, it's worth the drive and it's worth your time and money.

I ordered the teriyaki chicken without onions and our server was so awesome that she let me know that the ginger dressing on my salad contained onions. She wanted to make sure I didn't have an allergy. How amazing?! The chicken teriyaki and the veggies it was served with were absolutely AMAZING! Seriously, IDK what they did to those veggies but this may have been the best meal I've ever had! They gave my husband a scoop of mango icecream with a candle in it for his birthday. Love that! They had options ranging from sandwiches, rice bowls, to tacos. There is an ample amount of seating inside (tables and booths) and the service was lovely. Very attentive servers! My friend and I split the Caramelized Kimchi Nachos, Ko'Jangles Fries, and Karaage Bowl. The Ko'Jangles Fries could have used a bit more seasoning, but the side of honey mustard was delicious. As for the Caramelized Kimchi Nachos, they definitely had a kick from the Sriracha sauce. I also did not realize that they would come topped with a bunch of lettuce, so that was a bit much. But the ghost pepper cheese sauce on the side was really taste with the tortilla chips. The Karaage Bowl was probably my favorite dish as the fried chicken was delicious with whatever sauce was on top of it. Again, it had a lot of lettuce on top which I will now know not to include, but the bowl was solid. The roasted nori really brought out a great umami flavor. I think I would definitely focus more on customizing my order next time I am here so that I can fully enjoy my meal. There are plenty of options on the menu that I would not mind trying next time. I would probably rate this place a 3.75/5 stars if I could! The food did not wow me; it was pretty simple but good portions and taste to fill you up.
