I have been to this place a few times and i like it, it's a great spot to grab boba tea, their prices are great and the drinks are pretty good, i have tried a few and so far i have not been disappointed. They have multiple drinks to choose from. The decoration is nice maybe if you need to do remote work or study. The service so far has been pretty good. I would like to update my prior review. I returned to this location to quench my bubble tea craving. I'm pretty much predictable in terms of my order. I get the medium size black milk tea with lychee gel and boba with 30% sugar and less ice for a little more than $4. All in all, their tea is tasty but not mind-blowing. The boba were a bit hard. That would be my point of critique. If the thought of driving outside of Durham is too difficult, you're hangry for bubble tea, and you're looking for a place to study, this place is for you! I went out of my comfort zone once and tried a flavored boba that tasted like cough syrup. Since then I stick to Taro Milk Tea and I'm always pleased! Service is usually quick and efficient. Today I got Taro Milk Tea and sweet potato fries! Fries are perfect and not too greasy. Parking is very limited, there is a small lot to the right of the store, but I've never had trouble getting a spot. It's a great addition to the 9th street radius when it comes to food and drinks. There's enough parking to accommodate customers as well as space within the shop. It's quite spacious! The atmosphere is clean and fun. This will be a hot spot once the summer comes around! I stopped in for a snow boba after work. The customer service was fantastic! Love the enthusiasm! But their sour plum tea is the most refreshing summer/spring/fall drink that you need to try. It's a more traditional flavor than some of the other drinks and I know it's not commonly ordered. As a self-proclaimed boba fanatic, I LOVE Quickly's! For a while, most of the good boba shops were a drive away, so thank goodness Quickly's is good and close to Duke campus (a walk away from East). If you don't know what to try, their original (black) milk tea with boba is a classic! But the last time I went I got the Tiger Tea. If you like thai tea, then you should definitely give it a shot! The bubbles can make or break the tea, and fortunately they're a good level of chewiness. Also, for all my lactose-intolerant friends out there, all of their tea is lactose free! I dont think it affects the taste at all (I only recently found out none of their tea has lactose, apparently), so you can enjoy the tea without the consequences! I usually go when I'm craving popcorn chicken, and it always hits the spot! It's almost always freshly made and piping hot, and they have pepper powder if you want to add a kick! I also usually mix some sriracha and ketchup together to dip the chicken in, and it's delicious. The vibe of a boba shop is very important to me - boba shops are where my friends and I hung out during high school - which is part of why I like Quickly's so much. It's a cute, casual vibe, from the wooden/ brightly colored furniture to the corner with couches to the TV that is almost always playing Chinese pop videos. They also have some CLASSIC games (Jenga is my favorite boba shop game). The owner has also supported Duke Asian Students Association by catering and also attending some of our big community events. So, from the people to the food/ drinks to the decor, Quickly's is definitely one of my favorite boba shops around! read more

So happy to see Durham with a real boba shop! Quickly is one of the OG bubble tea chains from Taiwan so they're more like first wave boba with simple, pared down menus and classic toppings - the tapioca is standard and lacks the more molasses-y flavor that newer chains have. The tea is here is ok - not strong enough in my opinion and tastes more like a powder mix than fresh tea leaves, but the Thai tea I ordered was better here than at the Morrisville location. The condensed milk flavor really shines through though! The people working here were really, really nice and the atmosphere was so upbeat and happy that I'm definitely going to return soon. (Possibly even tomorrow and Saturday for their grand opening!) They're currently doing a soft opening with only small size drinks and a smaller menu, but their grand opening is Saturday (December 1). I absolutely love Taiwanese popcorn chicken so I'm eagerly awaiting the debut of their food menu since there's nowhere else in Durham for popcorn chicken. I also love that their hours run late! Durham's usually dead past 8pm so it'll be great to have a solid snack/boba shop to go to for late night food or an after dinner dessert. ---- I returned for their grand opening day when they were running a bogo special and their whole menu was available. Although there was a pretty large crowd and long line, Quickly lived up to its name and the line moved at a quick pace. I was finally able to get the popcorn chicken and it was really tasty and lightly fried. "Bubble tea and other drinks near Ninth Street in Durham" This interesting little place popped up in the building that was the home to the old Locopops on Hillsborough Road. They sell a suite of teas, "milk teas", and non-alcoholic smoothie-like drinks ("slushes" and "snows"). There were a few food items on the menu (e.g., fries, egg rolls), but we didn't try those. Parking is pretty easy along the side of the building (by a record store), but it's true there aren't a ton of spots. The interior space is bright and airy, with different kinds of seating (some with laptop space) and free wifi. They noted that the milk they use is all non-dairy (soy perhaps?), so safe for the lactose intolerant. We came around 7pm on a Saturday night, and while there were a few people around, there was no line or wait. I ordered the ginger tea with a jasmine base and added strawberry popping boba. My family got a rose milk tea (in black base with honey boba), a coconut milk tea (in black base with strawberry popping boba), and a sour plum snow. Our server was friendly and all four drinks were ready within 5 minutes, so we did not have the long wait that some other reviewers mentioned. And everyone in my group really enjoyed their drinks. The ginger tea had enough ginger that it made my throat numb slightly as I drank it. The popping boba was small and a bit "slippery", such that it was almost hard to chew because it would slip from between your teeth, but it tasted great. The size of the regular drink was decent, and they put a good amount of the boba. Overall, no complaints! Several reviewers noted the price is high. For a tea with boba, it was $3.75 plus tax-- yeah it's not cheap, but it's what I paid for the same thing when living in Berkeley, California (where bubble tea shops were everywhere). I have been monitoring how things will unfold in this newly opened Quickly. I was overjoyed when I discovered it on yelp on their soft opening. I'm a fan of Quickly since I first tried it in Manila. I used to drive all the way to Morrisville for my Taro Boba Tea fix. I checked the place out during their soft opening and Taro Boba Tea did not disappoint... as usual! They didn't have popcorn chicken then, but needless to say, I was a satisfied customer. Today, I called to confirm if they have popcorn chicken first before my husband and I took the 5 minute drive to Quickly from my work. Long story short, we came, we ordered, we ate and drink, we ordered more popcorn chicken to take home for our 3 kids (who were very delighted to have popcorn chicken for dinner)... and we were all happy campers! The ambiance is good... they may need more seating areas as the town is starting to learn of their existence. There are a lot of mixed reviews for this place and that's because the fact of the matter is there are options that people won't enjoy and some people will. As for the boba itself, i was unfortunately unable to taste the standard honey/tapioca boba which I love as they had just run out of it and I didn't want to wait a half hour for it. So we had crystal boba and strawberry pops boba. The popping boba was good - about on par with other places I've had it at. The crystal boba left me craving the tapioca boba because I love the texture of normal boba and the Crystal boba was more like jelly. The fried tofu was wonderful - with their chili powder seasoning. The manager was friendly and service prompt. The space is relaxed and causal. Some tall tables if I wanted to spend some time there. They also have ramen and hello panda snacks to munch on.
