A really good Chinese restaurant on the West side of London Ontario, with a mix of dinner dishes,…read morenoodles, and rice and congee. The fish with 1000-year-old egg congee was top notch; the fish was gently cooked, and the amt. of preserved egg was appropriate. The congee base was strong and appropriately thick without it being stiff. The corn and taro congee had a bit less flavor. The pea pod leaf vegetable was nicely stir-fried and retained a lot of heat. My reservation is usually that the veggie becomes too oily, but this time it seemed okay. The stir-fried beef with button mushrooms was top notch; the beef was tender, and the button mushrooms provided textural contrast to the beef. The beef tendon was also really soft, in a really nice way. The shrimp with egg rice noodle is always a classic, egg gently used as a sauce and the noodle with an appropriate bite to it. The place closes down (i.e. the patrons have to leave by 9p) at 9p, which makes for a bit of a rushed dinner, so beware.

However multiple items listed were not available and the price shown was often lower than the actual price. This is misleading to customers. In terms of service the staff were rude and short. They obviously wanted me to order as fast as possible and leave. I ended up with the chow fen And I added extra beef for about 9 CAD. Pleasantly the portion was much larger than I thought and they definitely added extra beef. It is an oily and noodle and beefy dish with good flavor. Not exactly the healthiest but I was craving this and it satisfied the craving. I might come back next time if I knew what I wanted ahead of time so I can skip the rude staff.

The interior is very cute here - the menu is handwritten on a chalkboard and they have stuffed animals on sale at the side. We came here at around 30 minutes before closing time so unfortunately we were only able to get takeout. There was plenty of available seating though and the restaurant was clean and tidy. We decided to order the cold noodles (liang pi) and the yo po noodles which came up to a total of $16. You get to play rock paper scissors with the cashier, and if you win you get 5% off your order. Portions were huge for the price and the food smelled so good! The noodles itself were quite chewy and carried the sauce well. I think both dishes were a tad too oily though, and it also tasted more sour than spicy. I probably won't order these dishes again, but I noticed they serve other interesting dishes on their menu like peking duck pork wraps and pork patties - I might just give it another try when I'm in the area!

Convenient place for a hot and spicy lunch/dinner. Price is slightly more expensive but they also give large portions. Would recommend the standard meal combos over custom orders due to difference in price. Their 麻辣烫(malatang)are a staple, but the pickled cabbage fish casserole left a better impression on me. Though that might be because I had their malatang too many times aha Overall a homey meal, but personally find it a tad expensive for something I could make at home. Would recommend for cold winter nights.

Steamed Cold Noodles. (There are cucumbers, bean sprouts and gluten in the dish, and we pour our house special sauce on them)

Ohhh Canada, I salute you for the effort. Or should I say ohhh boa sandwich company. I mean, to…read morededicate an entire eatery to the clover Boa? It is a worthy cause indeed. Let's start with the good. Huuuuge Boa's! Easily the biggest I've ever seen. The bun is as good as they come, pillowy soft, yet strong enough to hold all of the ingredients that make up these massive sandwiches. Now as far as the food itself, well, disappointing to say the least. I tried the chicken katsu, crackle belly, and Seoul beef. All were technically flawed in various ways. The chicken katsu was the more enjoyable of the bunch, great on breading and flavor, but the chicken itself was tough and on dry side. The amount of beef in the Seoul beef is beyond generous, and actually tasty. But the kimchi does absolutely nothing to add to this. As far as the crackle belly? My oh my. Pork belly is my thing. I've had more than I could count. None as bad as this. The name crackle implies crispy. This cut of pork was so tough and overcooked with little to no fat, that i started to question if it was even ever from the belly itself. Surely this could not be the norm at boa sandwich bar. Maybe a bad day at the office? I would certainly hope so, because even with mild expectations, Bao sandwich bar falls waaaay short.

This time was a dinner for three. We started with a dozen oysters on the half shell that were fresh and delicious. Appreciated that we were notified that they have Happy Hour Tues-Fri 3pm-5pm with 1/2 price oysters. Also had the Fried Smelts which were tasty. Two of us had Craft burgers. This time they did arrive as ordered (last time med rare arrived well done) but they mixed the orders. One was med rare and the other rare. Not nice having to change burgers after each taking a bite. Despite the mix up the juicy burgers and fries were excellent. The other order was the Braised Beef Cheek Birria Grilled Cheese. This was very good but a touch pricey at $28 for what you get. Speaking of price, the craft burger is $24. I asked for a side of mayo for the fries and it arrived promptly. They charged $2 for the mayo which was not mentioned. Considering that our total bill ran $250 it seemed out of place to charge for mayo. One of the best reasons to come to Craft Farmacy is to try craft beers which they rotate regularly. We each enjoyed a beer or two. For desert we ordered their Chai Crème Brûlée and Crack Pie with gelato. Both are highly recommended. We also had glass of sherry that unfortunately was off and had to be sent back. Replaced with a glass of Port. When the bill arrived the sherry was not removed, they did take it out when we caught the mistake. Our meal was much better than the last visit. All of the food was well prepared this time but the little mistakes on burger mixup and sherry on the bill were disappointing. Still if looking for a good burger and a great beer you can do a lot worse than Craft Farmacy.
