DONT BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! thank you babalu's!

Hey guys! Just a quick followup on this fantastic restaurant. So we went back yesterday for lunch,…read moreand again,NO DISAPPOINTMENT! The way the food is cooked here immediately transports me to my childhood home, with mom cooking, yelling at us kids to stop lifting the lids off the pots. This food is phenomenal. The rice and beans, platanitos, tostones, all have such a flavor, and that special ingredient that only a mother has, love. I had the tostones, the wife had bistec empanizado and we took the croqueta sandwich home. Man o man, I dont think I've ever finished ameal without taking a to go container with me. The service is excellent, food is 10 stars! I genuinely feel as if I was in a family members home for lunch or dinner, not in a restaurant. This place should be on a tv show somewhere. I think ill nominate them for Guy's Triple D. Keep up the great work, see you next week. :)

I wanted to try something new and different. Also I'm on an international sandwich fling! So I had…read moreto try a Pupusa! This is a small family operated shop everyone was friendly and our server kindly answered our questions. There are a few tables to dine in, with plates and flatware; not paper and plastic. I had cheese pupusas, cabbage salad and plantains. For those who don't know I would describe pupusa as a hot sandwich it looks similar to a pita bread but is made of corn flour. It's filled with choices of meat, beans, and cheese. I will be back with non vegetarian family to try more options. The cheese pupusa was hot and Delicias as promised! cabbage salad was basically a creamy coleslaw. Some pickled cabbage also came with the pupusa. Both were very good. Plantains were sliced thin and fried, sweet and ripe, they were served with a rich cream sauce. Pickled onions were also offered we they were very good but I don't eat onions. My SO had a breakfast of eggs, corn tortilla, large slice of white cheese, refried beans and plantains. He ate all the beans and made an egg sandwich with the rest. This might not be the traditional way to eat a Salvadoran breakfast but he enjoyed it. He also had a house salad which he said was very fresh. I will be telling others to try this spot!

I got 3 different pupusas, the pastelitos, and a Jamaica agua fresca, and everything was as good as I remember. My friend's mom used to make me pupusas, salsa and curtido, and these were just as good. I'm telling all my friends to give them a try and enjoy. Sadly, they're closed on Sunday and Monday.
