Do not hire for any service! They will perform horrible work and fail to respond to any request to fix the damage left by their crew. Once the job is assumed completed, they will not respond to your calls. We invested a large amount into a new master bathroom and our shower is leaking in the walls causing damage to our floors and baseboards. No sealant was used on the shower floor. My parents recently bought a dream house, except for the kitchen! They got it for a great price, before it was listed so they were able to get estimates and help change some things. Ybarra Prof Builders completely delivered above our expectations. It was clear from the in-home estimate that Issac had the experience and "know-how" to transform the kitchen into a modern, airy, functional space without being too scary. A wall needed to be torn down and rebuilt and his estimate was fairly priced with a more than reasonable timeline (of 3 weeks), and his design was exciting. Issac prepared three different designs for us to review prior to signing which really helped us to get a good idea of the concept and how it would be executed. Although engaging in any kind of remodeling project can be stressful, the communication with Issac was very good which minimized our uncertainty. Please benefit from our mistake, and do not hire this company. I cannot explain the full list of problems in this limited forum. To give you a sample: cheap materials; unskilled workforce; refused to finish the project unless we gave them more money than provided for in the contract; permanent damage to our driveway. In the end, we had to hire a new company to redo their substandard work at a cost of several thousand dollars. I entered into a contract with Ybarra Professional Builders on Feb 13, 2023. The project was to paint most of the house interior, remove/texture/paint popcorn ceiling, replace a stair railing, reno a half bathroom, and install new trim, baseboards, and interior doors. The quality and poor workmanship I have experienced by this company is staggering. They installed several of the wrong door type and/or style without my approval. All the (prehung) normal doors are hung improperly, but they installed them anyway. The doors do not open and close properly, the hardware is installed crooked with screws sideways, and many of doors were installed off center and/or high above the actual floor. In several cases, they punched nails diagonally through the trim and door frame. They still have not installed a door to my bedroom - the master bedroom is literally missing a door. The trim around all the doors is inconsistently spaced and not straight. Some of the trim doesn't even reach the baseboards and floor. The trim, baseboards, and doors were installed prior to painting them, which I have never heard of anyone doing. There are areas of ceiling where the popcorn was not removed and others where it was left untextured and painted. The paint crew did a very poor job where they left a huge number of dried drips, splatters, and pooling on my walls. They did not clean the walls prior to painting, so there are large chunks of drywall (from the ceiling) painted into my walls. They did not patch any of the walls prior to painting. The lines are poor and they did a poor job covering my house prior to painting. They got paint all over my wooden front door, trim, wood floor, a cat toy, custom window dressing, speaker cable, and fireplace door. They did not prime my accent walls prior to painting so they require another coat of paint. They broke a curtain rod during painting and did not disclose this. There is debris, plaster, and garbage all over my lawn, driveway, front door, windows, and siding. The crew used one of the trees in my yard to clean their equipment or boots, as it has white plaster all over it. Part of this project also included some minor drywall replacement. The drywall cutting and replacement piece was freehanded (not cut straight) where there are major gaps between the replacement piece and drywall. There is a location where the replacement piece does not fully span the stud, which could cause it to fail. The crew has no-showed at least three times (including today - 3/20/23) and generally disrespected me and my house. For example, they spent a day spitting sunflower seed shells all over my house. My project manager does not get back to me, or makes decisions without communicating with me. There has not been a licensed general contractor on site to supervise any of the work being done - I have not heard from him since Mar 1 (19 days). The company continuously tells me they "everything will look good after the finishing steps," but many of these issues are not part of "finishing." The company came by last week and attempted to get me to buy them out of the contract. Effectively, they wanted more money to mutually terminate the contract. I told them I just want the job done right and for them to fix all the problems they've created for me. I am attempting to address these issues in good faith, but I am having trouble getting responses from the more senior members of the company. I'm told I'll get a callback "later today" or "in five minutes," but I have received only one follow up - and not within the promised timeframe. I've also been put on an indefinite hold multiple times. I've now paid this company $11,000. Ybarra Professional Builders has created a litany of new problems for me and has failed to deliver quality workmanship in literally every aspect of the project. Their communication has been poor in all cases, and nonexistent in many others. read more
