The communication was excellent, the crews were very hard working and precise. With every unexpected thing that came up (we expected the unexpected when remodeling a 50 year old house), both Dustin and Mike from 4M were extremely responsive, did a great job of laying out our options, cost, schedule etc. I also cannot say enough great things about Aurel and his crew. The work ethic and attention to detail were extremely impressive. Most of all - because we were living in the house throughout the remodel (turning our primary suite into a pseudo-kitchen/dining/family room) - they were extremely respectful and helped keep the rest of our house clean and functional to the extent possible. They came out to fix it and about a month or so later, the same issue came up. He said he would send someone out to fix it again and never did, and never called or messaged me back. The owner is a nice guy and so are his employees. Very respectful workers. However, when you are a business and you say you are going to do something, you do it or you reach out to your customer to tell them why it's delayed. This company has left a very bad taste in my mouth when it comes to contractors. If you're looking for a contractor, I highly advise you look elsewhere.

We bought a house based on there promise they could do a major renovation on budget we could afford and then after we purchased the home gave us a bid 40% higher so they basically under bid the job to put us in a this position. We also were charged 4k for a dedicated project manager that was at the house 15 minutes a week and when we questioned the owners they basically strong armed us by threatening to stop work when we had questions if work was completed or not as we are not construction professionals. We have tried to communicate with them but there answers are always threating to stop work and leave use with a mess. I am currently still dealing with Roloff at this time and wish I had never hired them to for this project. If anyone has questions please reach out to me as I do not write reviews but in this situation where someone ruins your home and threatens you I just have to let others know this is how they do business.

Prior to the beginning of work, Jim gave us a spreadsheet detailing what would be done by who and when. Throughout the work, he communicated with us frequently advising us what was happening and what would be done next. He worked with us all the way through, helping us make the necessary decisions that we needed to make and purchase the things that we agreed to purchase. Jim works with a group of small, family owned subcontractors who have the same work ethic as Jim. They all were fantastic. The work was great, finished on time and in budget. Our 1915 Prairie-style house had one small bathroom that had suffered a bad DIY remodeling several…read moredecades ago and had developed a leak into the kitchen ceiling below. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul, including new plumbing and wiring, as well opening a window that had been partially covered in the previous remodel. Other areas that needed substantial repair included a water closet with a single toilet on the basement landing, tiling in the kitchen, a microwave installation, ceiling cracks in the living room and dining room, chipped wall paint in hallways, the aforementioned kitchen ceiling leak, and replacement of outdated wiring and plumbing in the basement. It was a sprawling remodel-and-repair job. JDL came highly recommended and did not disappoint. They patiently spent a lot of time with us up front on the overall design of the project, from the attic to the basement. They laid out the cost of the project, including options, in great detail. The price wasn't cheap, but it was fair, and we feel we got more than our money's worth. These folks are professionals. Once JDL started the actual work, we were impressed with the overall project management, the exacting craftsmanship of both their own employees and the subcontractors, and the way they treated our house as respectfully as they would have treated their own. They cleaned up after themselves every single day, communicated about their progress regularly and made all significant decisions in consultation with us. The result is a bright, modern bathroom that nevertheless blends in perfectly with the 1915 style of the house.

He was very thorough with his inspection and gave me a no b.s. quote. There were several other companies I got quotes from but decided to go with Alex because of his straightforward answers and great customer service. Alex and his crew came the same week and did an amazing job on the project. They were very respectful of my property and placed everything back in their place. Their work was solid. Alex took pictures and send them to me as I was at work. After they were complete, they cleaned up the area well and placed everything back.
