I love this studio and I haven't been tattooed there I've been pierced numerous times, and Tori is phenomenal. Her customer service is superb. She knows her stuff. She gives great advice and instruction in the piercings that I have received have all gone very well, and have been trouble free. Her jewelry selection is off the chain, you get what you pay for I personally love 14 karat gold and above so I don't mind paying for fine jewelry. I have also had the pleasure of having some artwork done for me by Justin who is such a cool guy with so much artistic skill. He worked with me came up with a awesome design that incorporated everything I wanted and his work came out super crisp clean all in all also we came in super late as walk ins and he worked till 12 or so to get it done. Furthermore I came back for touch ups and it looks even better now as we shared sentiments over a design choice. Justin is funny, super chill works fast and is very professional. I went to get my first tattoo on my birthday. I'm 74. It was a wonderful experience with Drago Reid! He was kind, patient, talented and super friendly. He did not charge me for the color because it was my birthday, he said. The place is very clean. And I did not have to wait long at all. It was just what I wanted. And Drago gave good guidance and made me feel at ease. So glad for him. Very knowledgeable fellow, interesting to talk to. This is a tough one to review because I REALLY like this place! Everyone was super helpful and friendly! The atmosphere was awesome...minus the fact that NO ONE is wearing masks. I would like to note however that all the doors and windows are open to this salon, which is located within a house. There are lovely plants throughout and it is a homey type atmosphere. There are several rooms for patrons to have privacy while they get pierced or tatted. I didn't catch the name of the gal who did my piercing, but she was lovely! I had my nose repierced and she explained what she was doing through the whole procedure. She made me feel at ease and also let me know i could return for follow up care in 6 weeks or so. My only other issue was I was quoted $65 but was charged $81 once I had the piercing. Perhaps the $65 was only for the piercing and didn't include the hardware?? I didn't ask, but wanted to note that for someone else. Overall great experience on a lovely Florida weekend! read more

However, we went around 9:30pm for piercings, I'm not sure if the guy thought we wouldn't notice on our credit card the next day, but he chose what amount to tip himself, and it was quite a bit!! My boyfriend's piercing got very infected and he had to take it out, so it's completely closed at this point. Mine is still ok, fingers crossed. Our total PLUS tip was almost $500- so seemed a bit extreme for 2 piercings. read more

Loved this place. I tagged along with my friend while she got a tattoo. I needed one of my piercings looked at and to purchase a piece of jewelry. The guy ended up having to basically re-pierce me. I was a walk-in, so I was totally down to wait, but I ended up not even being charged for the service because of the wait (only paid for the jewelry). Absolutely LOVE Tori and her work. I have had the same 3 body piercings for 20+ yrs and she taught me so many things about care and sizing yesterday. I had to have my piercings re-threaded (holes already there) and she was honest with the pain level based on how long it had been since they were in, she made sure to have me do breathing exercises and absolutely had me dying laughing. There was a challenge issued to us, we surpassed it. The reward? Our stage manager would get a tattoo. When the time came, he opted to get his tattoo done at Ybor City Tattoo company, partly because they were open on Sunday, and partly because of their ratings on Yelp. When I arrived, half my cast was already there, and we were waiting for the artist to finish her adjustments to the artwork that would soon adorn "Mother's" arm. After a tweak or two, he took to the chair. She was exceedingly kind, very understanding and very explanatory to him when it came time as to what was going to happen. All in all, the tattoo process took about 45 minutes. When it was done, it looked fantastic. All of us were pleased. Most especially Mother, because it is adorning his body forever. Went in based on reviews with high hopes. Got there shortly after they opened. Guy at the desk was not helpful at all. Asked what the shop minimum was and he said " not sure...$60? $75?" He couldn't tell me when anyone would be in to tattoo that day but said someone should be in soon. I asked about their jewelry and he had no idea about the prices or if anyone would be in to do a piercing. We decided to wait a bit (the shop seemed pretty clean and off the Main Street of Ybor City). Finally after almost half an hour of waiting, another guy came in and said the shop minimum was $100. I got a tattoo here about a month ago and everything about the experience was perfect. The shop was clean and everyone there was super friendly and helpful. Ed was my artist and he surpassed all of my expectations. He is very knowledgeable about the art of tattooing. I went to get a piercing as a walking, but there was not a piercer available on Sundays. It was my last day in Tampa so coming another day was not an option, so the guy gave me a couple recommendations of other places and a recommendation to avoid. Walked into this place with three of my classmates to get tattoos tonight. The four of us have roomed together for the past three years in our doctorate program and wanted to get one together as a last hurrah before we all head off into the world. It was uncomfortable from the get-go and we got the vibe that the artist (Sean) didn't want to do our relatively simple tattoos. After giving him our ideas of that we wanted he told us he was the only artist there and that he wouldn't be able to do them all before closing which was in two hours -- which was fine. We offered to come back another day. He first suggested we come back Thursday when there would be two artists to do them. While we were discussing among ourselves what we wanted to do, he stopped us, accused us all of smelling like booze and basically ran us out. We had just finished treating patients all day and came there right after we changed clothes. We obviously hadn't been drinking. For future reference, if you don't want to do a tattoo, just say so. We would have respected your decision and went elsewhere. I understand you have a business to run but there's no need to be rude to people who want to spend their money at your establishment. Just got my third tattoo during my first visit at Ybor City Tattoo. Wow. I have never walked out of a tattoo shop already wanting to go back. It is really quite a beautiful shop and I was shocked at the cleanliness. Not only was I uber-impressed with the nice looking store, but they were incredibly friendly! They made me feel so comfortable right away. My husband and I both were going in for tattoos so we emailed them earlier in the day to see if we would need appointments. They were quick to respond and very helpful. Since it was a Wednesday, they said it probably wouldn't be busy and asked us what we wanted. We told them and when we showed up at the shop later that day, they already had designs for us to look at. He drew what I wanted even more beautiful than I was imagining it in my head. I knew exactly what I wanted, but I like to ask the experts' opinions on placement and design. They're artists and they do this every day so I trust them. They were totally willing to help and give me their opinion, which I really appreciated. The entire process was relatively easy. I had my rib cage done and had heard a lot of people saying how painful that could be. Maybe I was just nervous, but I didn't think it was nearly as bad as I was imagining. Or maybe Curtis is just really talented. I'm guessing the latter. Curtis did both mine and my husband's tattoos and they are fantastic! I was truly impressed by his skills, his professionalism, and patience. He was so nice and made me very comfortable right away. Definitely a big fan of Curtis, but judging by the portfolios I looked through while I was waiting, everyone at Ybor City Tattoo is talented. Oh and the price.....awesome! I was very pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the prices were. However, I am from New York so maybe I'm just not used to Tampa prices. Honestly, I can't think of one negative thing to say about this place. I am beyond happy with the work and I'm not even in much pain. It's in a great spot with a parking lot next door. He was wonderful, chatty, the hour and a half that I thought I could not stand flew by.
