Dan has taken care of our family's eye glass needs since the 1980's. He is still our "go-to" guy for lenses and frames. Thanks, Dan!

I'd been told "come in if you have any issues!" So I did, but was not told that this would be considered a new visit - and it was charged to my insurance company and incurred an additional $50 copay that I was never informed about until I got the invoice in the mail. It would seem like if you have a strong reaction to something that happened during their treatment, you would be seen without it incurring another charge. OR at least you would be informed of such. The glasses that my husband and I ordered from them scratched easily despite paying extra for scratch protection - and I only ever used the cloth given to me. After shopping around we realized we could have saved hundreds going elsewhere. Also keep in mind that one of their employees is "hands on" - that is will touch your shoulder, arm or get into your personal space. While I'm generally really easy going, it happened often enough and bothered me enough to have to ask to have someone else help me - the request was granted, but the nurse I spoke to acted like I was being unreasonable for making the request, and i had to continue to make the request every time I came in - apparently it was not noted in my file. I hate giving negative reviews, but thought it might help others to share my experience. I will be taking my business elsewhere and encourage others to do so as well.

Those places all declined to provide a sample pair unless I had an exam, even though I explained I had my current prescription. When I called Northside, Megan answered the phone. She was fabulous! She asked me what my prescription was, found that they had samples, and provided them to me after purchasing a box of contacts, exactly what I needed! When I arrived at the store, a receptionist warmly greeted me and explained that Megan would be right with me. I sat in their lovely waiting room for a minute before Megan got me my samples and ordered me a six-month supply, all for tremendously cheaper than I had paid for that same box at other stores in the past! Megan solved a major problem for me in minutes and with great kindness and respect. The customer service at Northside Vision Center is truly fabulous, and they've made a lifelong customer out of me!

This was my second year visiting Visionworks and seeing the Optometrist (Dr. Daniel Mulder…read moreOptometry). It is the first year I also brought both my daughters. We set our appointments all at once and we never felt rushed or as if we were an inconvenience when we asked questions. My girls are 16 and 9, so you can imagine how many pairs of glasses we each tried on. I'm very thankful that Jamie helped us with paperwork, provided feedback, cleaned the pile of glasses, and was so patient with us. It's nice when a business that sells glasses understands how important it is that we don't have a limit of how many pairs we could try on or make us feel rushed. I want to add that my teenager noticed how the glasses were organized and merchandised. They were merchandised by shape, price, brand, and styles which made it super easy to shop. We have visited other stores prior and honestly it was so hard to shop it because it was only merchandise by brand. Those little charts that help you pick out the best frame shape for your face shape didn't go unnoticed. It was helpful, but then we decided to break the rules and try on all the shapes. When it was time for us to wrap things up and check out, the team helped us narrow down which ones were better. :) not to forget, Jamie broke down what I was being charged for vs. what my insurance was covering. It was super easy to understand and know that I was getting a great buy for our glasses combined. I know that If we were on a tight budget, Jamie would have helped us pick out the frames that were in our price range. However, I'm one that picks out the glasses then worries if the price after insurance would be within budget. I was here about 2 years ago purchasing my other pairs of glasses, and by far there has been a huge improvement in service. I don't even remember who helped me last year... I just know this year was better. Thank you Jamie! =)

From the receptionist to the exam person to the eye dr, everyone was so lovely and patient. Very affordable price points for glasses and the exam as well. Highly recommend!

She explained each procedure as well as what the tests were for. I that love GVS has the option to use an optos machine (around $42 sliding scale) that takes a picture of the back of your eye to check your eye health if you don't want to get your eyes dilated. I hate having weird vision for 2-3 hours so I opted to pay for the optos imaging which took less than a minute! They also have a different machine to check eye pressure that isn't the puff of air :) O.D. Glennie was super kind during my eye exam and also answered all the questions and concerns I had. I chose to do a contact lenses consultation which cost me $70 ($60 once you become a recurring patient) they also have potential rebates for contact lenses. All in all I got out of there with insurance for $123 ($70 consult + $25 co pay + $26 sliding scale for optos and tax ) Just some info I asked about as well (as of 11/22/2024) They take State insurance: - Community health (for patients 20 and younger) - Coordinated care (but not AM better) Cost without insurance: $207 eye exam with dilation or $247 if you opt for the optos machine instead of dilation

Today, I woke up, went to my home office, put on my computer glasses and watched as one lens fell out. I found the screw and spent an hour working while holding my head very still. I went over as they opened at 9am. They first said the optician wouldn't be in for 30 minutes, and I said I really couldn't wait. As I had the tiny screw, one of the women at the front desk said to hang on. She went in back and put it back together for me. They could have been strict and I would have had to wait and come back. Instead, when they found out it was a simple fix they did the great customer service thing and helped me. Well done.
