If I could rate them negative stars, I would. I had a credit with the store worth around $2k. I called and was trying to order a complete interior for my 77' Trans Am. I had a list of parts that I was trying to buy. As I went down the list, they were either out of stock, back ordered, or they had no idea when they would come in. After about 10 different items under the above status, the sales rep on the phone very rudely asked me "Are you going to actually buy something? I can't just keep looking up parts for you..." I responded "You haven't had anything I wanted in stock! I'm TRYING to buy something! Are you kidding me?" Then he proceeded to hang up on me. I have called and complained, tried to talk to a manager, left numerous messages and emails requesting a manager contact me, and haven't heard anything back. So I called and asked them to return my money. I STILL haven't received my refund, the manager has never called me. Not ONE PERSON from management has called me! I will never EVER do business with Yearone again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone in the Hot Rod community. I would rather pay someone else MORE just to get better customer service. I literally made this yelp account just to write this review. I have never left a review for anyone, but I am so appalled, I felt compelled to write my first one. The only good thing about them is Alice, a Rep I talked to on the phone, and the only one in their company to actually TRY to help me. YearOne is a great auto parts that are most part close to original. But I called in to order a catalog, the customer service told me they stopped making them 2 years ago. Either order from customer service or go online to order. That's okay with me but I said that most of parts list does not have picture of part, just literature about the part. Very long time to get in touch with someone. I have called 3 days in a row, and no one will answer the phone. I ordered a product and it never said if it was in stock or on backorder. I just want to know when I am getting my product. I even emailed them to the confirmation email they sent me for the order. No answer.... I just want you to answer the phone. Year One used to be THE go-to company for restoration parts. I just ordered a mirror from them and when it cam I realized that o had ordered the wrong one and also that they had charged me two for the mirror. I have tried 10 times to call them and waited on hold for up to an hour, nobody ever answers the phone. I have sent multiple "Contact Us Forms" and never heard a reply. Very frustrating. I guess I will take it with me to Carlisle and hole they will exchange it for me there. read more

I am am an auto repair shop that deals with older cars, and after searching for a specific part, I was told that YearOne maybe the solution. So after calling and speaking to a representative about my issue, they indicated that my order was no issue, as the supplier was the O.E. supplier and has been around since 1946. So when I asked that my measurements for the springs be included in the notes, the gentlemen informed me that they had everything. So I paid for the parts, and waited. About 2 weeks later the parts arrived, called my customer and rescheduled his car. When we disassembled the spring on the car the sizes were way off, so before proceeding I called YearOne. I was then passed off and my concern was documented, and was told I would receive a call. First off it was over 24 hours before I received a call back, and his first question was did you the springs on. No we did not as we did not want to waste labor hours and lower the car as the springs were 2/1/2 inches short, and these were springs that were requested to be 1 inch taller than stock for settling. After taking my measurements, which I offered originally they said they would call back. We went ahead and put springs on after 24 more hours with no word. They did drop they height but with a spring spacer we only ended up losing 1 inch. A week later I get a call from YearOne saying they would accept a return of the product as they company said those are the correct springs, and they are not interested in making anymore for us. Had they actually let me talk with someone who could have relaid my measurements over they could have saved me a lot of trouble, as this was a car that no one made springs for aftermarket. They are interested in being billed as the company that can get hard to find parts, but if they are too hard to find they will leave you in a lurch and do not care about your time. read more

Bought a set of wheels few years back, (17" snowflake) well long story short front wheel came off and tore up my front fender and door. My fault i guess i should check the lugs more often went to order new lugs for that wheel find out they sent me the wrong ones originally. All i got was sorry you bought them from another supplier (as a set drop shipped from yearone wheels and lugs and center caps) so no help wasn't looking to get the fender or door fixed just maybe the right lug nuts!!! ive had on order for over a year 2 sets of seat upholstery end of november 2020 ive been lied to multiple times first it was in stock at time i ordered on line then after 4 wks i was told 32 weeks out pretty upset at this point but ill be patient and wait things happen so here comes end of august 2021 no seat covers yet so tom at year one calls some one and gets back with me says they will be at my shop mid october ok but im pissed but i wait november comes 2020 a year later no covers call again allen says december for the 70 road runner covers and jan 14 for the 72 road runner covers im really am losing it have cars sitting waiting on bs promises so here it is febuary 2022 a package arrives from year one so happy rite WRONG they send just the rear seat cover for the 72 and a note the other covers are on back order throughly pissed now i call after 40 min wait allen answers i want to talk to tom hes the first guy that told me 32 weeks and so i get transfered AND OF COURSE I GET TOMS VOICE MAIL my advice to shop owners stay the hell away go direct to legendary or pui these guys suck at evrything but lying read more

My first experience with year one was a dash pad ordered for my 1985 GMC truck. To fit this dash in place you have to trim the excess mold off of the sides for it to fit in place. We fit it in, and it didn't fit worth a damn.. let it set in the sun for a few hours, tried again. Top would clip in, bottom popped out. Bottom was fastened in and the top would pop out. Year one refused to return it because the excess mold had been trimmed off. So I am stuck with a worthless dash pad. I bought an original GM one to put in my truck. SECOND problem, at the same time I ordered new seat upholstery for the same vehicle. I had it installed on my seat which was totally rebuilt by a reputable upholstery shop. Within 2 years of installation, it was already cracking and piping is falling off. I have 4 vehicles that I am restoring and I would rather pay a higher price somewhere else than deal with garbage products. read more

It's strange. I've used YearOne in the past in the early 90's and the service and products were excellent. But since I've gotten back into auto restoration in 2011 I've had less than stellar performance from them. Case one. On an order I asked for a weathered windshield washer jug( the difference is its somewhat yellowed so it doesn't look brand spanking new on a old muscle car.) Well they sent me the new looking one. No big deal it will get weathered over time. But then they left out the filter nut that holds the pump motor to the washer jug. I called and the CS rep tells me it doesn't come with it and must be ordered separately. I look in the catalog and on the website and the kit I ordered states it comes with the filter nut. He agrees to send it to me at no charge, so I'm a little happier. Next order for a project is an order for parts for about $2800. I order on-line and get an email the order is processed and tracking info will follow. A week later; no order; no email. I call and the CS rep tells me the CC was declined. He says if its a debit card also it only has a daily limit of $1000. I said no problem but why hasn't someone contacted me? He says two emails were sent about the declined order. Hmm I received an email earlier in the day for a back order I placed as well as a web order I placed later but CC declined emails are not in my inbox or trash or spam folder. C'MON GUYS invest in technology. Let the website tell me there is a CC issue at the Point of Sale. Allow me to check the status of my order on the website. Don't make me have to email or call or just be in Limbo for my order status. Jeg's, Summit and other competitors have this simple on-line order placement and tracking ability. So now I'm a week wasted on this project and I ask the guy will the order be here by Friday so I can get this project completed this week. Well he says today is Wednesday, they'll ship it Thursday and UPS is 1 day to your area so it may be there by Friday. But I don't know because its UPS and we have no control over that. -- C'mon it's 2011!! You mean to tell me, you can't pack and ship an order in one day! It was 10am on Wednesday and the order won't go out until THURSDAY??!! This is how you treat a $2800 order? Just Bite the bullet. put a rush on it and ship it guaranteed next day or two day or offer me the option to foot the shipping in the name of customer service. Why would it take two days to get an order out?? Jegs can get orders to me placed as late at 9pm for next day delivery! I'm not touting Jeg's. I'm just saying get with the program! Dealt with year one year's ago and was great. Now when I placed my order I'm told everything is in stock and will have the rest of my order in three days. So I wait six day's and call back that's when I'm told seven week's. Not a good thing when I told my customer there parts would be here and I'll have there car back to them in a couple weeks. Now it's week six and I call to check up on my order status and now it's eight weeks. Year one had no problem taking my money on day one. Paid in full. I understand how they have to wait for there supplier's to manufacture and ship to them. Year one is a middle man trying to make a living and so am I. Honesty is the only way to run a business. The present economic unpleasantness has greatly curtailed our participation in the classic car hobby. Our 55 Chevy Belair hot rod drove out of our driveway in the arms of another over a year ago. I have used YearOne for the past 13 years. at first the prices were reasonable and they had fast shipping. now their prices have gone up and it takes nearly 2 weeks to ship to California. half the items come arrive wrong or in duplicate. my latest order cost me $17.00 in shipping and the total weight for the parts were 2 pounds. on top of that I have been waiting over a week for them. The funny thing about this place is that the people are super nice and helpful, but everything else is awful. EVERY time I order (and I only do if I absolutely must) there is a problem. Backorders on things that show in stock, literally taking months to receive parts, gross overcharges on shipping, website issues for over a year now, even telling me that the reason I received speed nuts with only one of two identical emblems is because "if the guy that makes these for us has them he's sometimes generous enough to include them". If that's true, you and your "guy" need a serious lesson on good business practices. If you can help it, DO NOT ORDER from Year One. not a bad place to buy restoration parts unless you have a fitment problem and decide to return the part. They are nice on the phone but never follow through you will have to keep calling back and if you happened to use a gift card look out I sent them back by dash bezel because the woodgrain insert { bought from them as well } did not fit however it dropped wright into my original bezel. When I explained this to them they acted like it was an impossibility. Waited for them to order a new one to try the fitment them self of course they came up with the same issue after my 3rd or 4th call back they told me I should trim the woodgrain to fit. But I new if I messed it up they would not give me a new one so I sent back the one I had. From then nothing but BS they would not send me a check even after I explained I was no longer in position of the gift card I destroyed it cause it had no money left on it. They sent the refund to visa anyway 3 to 4 calls on my part later they said they had to wait for visa to deny the return going on 6 weeks still no money back had to call visa myself they were great found the money and are sending me a new gift card.
