I gave them a try, but now it just feels like another corporate run business except with limited hours and slow service. It's a real shame. We've been coming here since my 38-year-old daughter was 2! Steve and before him, his father, Art were AMAZING. Marta, the pharm tech was just like family. My husband is a creature of habit, so even though we moved 12 miles away and when Steve and even Marta retired, we still kept using them. The service just kept getting worse and worse. Andre, the new owner/pharmacist is the worst! Arrogant, and uncaring, he will not even do the minimum, like actually getting the correct medications in to fill an order and then threatening to not fill ANY prescription because you had the audacity to complain that in 10 days they still didn't have your medication. It was so bad, that my husband filed a complaint with the pharmacy board. You're better off using a soulless, corporate pharmacy in my opinion. read more

I had a prescription that needed to be ordered. Days went by and I hear nothing. When I called days after it was sent in I was told that it needed to be ordered. Ok great. So why wasn't it ordered when they received the rx and knew it wasn't in stock? A few more days later I called again and they told me it was on back order and they didn't know if or when it would come in. That was the first and last time I ever dealt with them. Sadly Yees was sold in July and the new owner Andre is also the pharmacist. Thus far I've been given the wrong items, and over charged several times. When confronted by not only myself but my insurance, Andre was condescending, dismissive, and lied several times about the price, how he rung it up, and about calling the correct party who could sort this out. My insurance kept telling him that he did not ring the medications up correctly as they could actually see it in the computer, he refused to accept reality. It is more important to make money at customers expense, and for him to be right. This mentality is beyond dangerous when handling peoples medication. Currently they are refusing to transfer my medications out to cvs. Their inaction has been going on for 3 weeks now. If you want to support local go to coastal drugs, otherwise go to a chain. There's actual accountability there, but not here. read more

I usually go to the CVS by my work to get my prescriptions filled, but after my last visit my doctor recommended that I try this place (since they're in the same building and all) and now I'm a fan! It's a pretty small place, but they get the job done--efficiently and with a smile (esp the main dude, Mr. Yee). This is just a straight-up pharmacy; if you need to do your grocery shopping while getting your prescriptions this won't be the place for you (they do have greeting cards, fyi), but if you just need your drugs they will hook you up. They ARE closed on the weekends so it's not SUPER-convenient (I hate breaking their mega 5-star streak, but alas), but they will now be my go-to. The first time I went in there I was very ill and they were not only helpful, but very compassionate. They are also very reliable and call when they say they will, contact your doctor for refills are needed, and ALWAYS with a smile and a thank you. You're not going to find a pharmacy that is as special and focused on you, the client, as Yee's. They really are service-oriented, and I get the feeling of the care for health & well-being of customers from everyone I talk with there. Steve, the pharmacist & owner, leads a whole team that makes each visit feel personal. They also offer compounding services, which is awesome for pets & kids who aren't crazy about swallowing pills. This is how we came to know Yee's a few years ago, needing a more palatable medicine for our cat. The pricing is very reasonable, and their work is meticulous. What I like most about Yee's, though, is that you are not a prescription to them... You are a person who they want to do right by for your health. Unfortunately, this isn't so common a trait in pharmacies today. But Yee's is, like I said, pretty special! Thank you, Steve, and your entire team for being so good to us over the past few years. I am sorry to have to write this but the new ownership of Yees is terrible. I am so, so sad. I have given them 3 months to work out the kinks that come along with the transition of buying a business and they have dropped the ball every single time then throw excuses at me. It is unacceptable to tell me a medication will be ready that afternoon then when I go pick it up (two days later) they tell me they don't have the medication and won't have it for another 4-5 days. My son now cannot attend school because he doesn't have his medication. I never write reviews but my experiences over the last 3 months with this new ownership have compelled me to write this review. I miss Steve and his crew- what a class act and now a dying breed. I really hope the new ownership can turn it around because I support small businesses but for now, I am beyond disappointed and will be going elsewhere. read more

I will NEVER be back to this pharmacy. I came to get a prescription last minute because I'm leaving town. I had reached out to this particular pharmacy to see if they had my medication in stock and they did so I had the receptionist of my doctors office call my doctor to send over my prescription. I received phone call from this pharmacy regarding pricing and I said that I was aware of how expensive the product was. Upon arriving , the main pharmacist ( who I'm assuming is Yee) was very rude to me from the start. I simply asked why the medication was more expensive here than it is at other places and he rudely cut me off and dismissed the question . So I provided a savings card from the prescription company itself and he seemed to have a huge issue with this. He then proceeded to berate me because I used my savings card on a 400 dollar prescription . SIR, WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC AND TIMES ARE HARD. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY 400 DOLLARS FOR A MONTHS WORTH OF PILLS AND IF I AM ALOTTED A SAVINGS CARD FROM THE VERY COMPANY THAT MAKES THE PILLS, THEN YOU SHOULD SHUT YOUR ARROGANT DISRESPECTFUL MOUTH AND TAKE THE DAMN CARD. After making me feel inferior because of the savings card He then questioned me several times about my doctor , the phone calls, and my medication which I am prescribed by my doctor who is a board certified psychiatrist. I was confused , because I couldn't understand why I was being questioned so much but quickly came to realize that I was being profiled. I am a black individual. The pharmacist was insistent on insinuating that I was carrying out some form of illegal activity or trying to do something shady. This interaction took place for around ten minutes. Ten minutes of being made to feel like I am some sort of criminal or delinquent . I am a law abiding citizen that happens to be neuro-divergent and need medication. I should NEVER have to be profiled, scolded, and made to feel like I have done something wrong ESPECIALLY when I followed all protocol on getting my prescription filled . I was simply trying to get my medication that helps me and unfortunately I was racially and economically profiled in trying to do so. This was such a traumatic and embarrassing experience for me. I will never ever be spending my hard earned money here again and I'd hope that POC and working class people do not support this asshole. I had to go back in and stand up for myself and he tried to overtalk me , invalidate me , invalidate my experience , and I had to demand an apology which he SO GRACIOUSLY was able to mumble out a sarcastic bitchy apology that I'm sure he didn't mean. You are scum, who doesn't deserve respect at all. You are a small , sad , and pitiful human being sir. read more

After having problems with another pharmacy we called a list of top rated pharmacies on yelp. This pharmacy made the top three on the list for my mom. We called and spoke to Mr. Yee. He was kind, understanding, and very helpful. He was able to get my prescriptions filled within 24 hours. Compared to the other pharmacy that took practically a whole month! We even asked him what his secret was. He told us there is none and that all pharmacy should have been able to do the same. So you see, pretty straightforward , honest, quick service. No run around and no judgements. We believe the other pharmacy just refused to fill the prescription because they thought we shouldn't be on those medications. Just picked up my prescription right now and I had to give these folks a 5 star. This is a family owned pharmacy a few blocks down where I live. The pharmacist Steven was super helpful and knowledgable. They were able to contact my doctor within a couple of hours about questions on my meds and constantly updated me during that time. He is very detail oriented. I was impressed he remember my name (and everything about my prescription) when I called in to see if my meds were ready after 2 weeks. In this day and age there seems to be a pharmacy on every corner. I've seen so many Walgreens and CVS' literally right across from each other. And more and more pop up all the time which goes to show you what a big business pharmaceuticals are. That's why I'm now over the moon that I found this place. I called because it's a compounding pharmacy and spoke to Steve. When I voiced my concerns about my daughter's aversion to taking a large amount of medicine at one time, he offered to make me a small supply to try out at no charge since I was paying for it out of pocket. What corporate pharmacy would do that?! It was such a thoughtful gesture that they now have my business for good, not to mention the pharmacy itself is quaint and peaceful, not sterile and impersonal like the other ones, and the staff beyond friendly and accommodating. I have been going to this pharmacy for a little over four years I have never had an issue. today I was treated extremely unkind. I called before I came to get clarification on machinery and medication, I was told I didn't need the prescription and I could buy the machinery. Once I got there I was told I needed the prescription. Very frustrated I drove home to get the prescription and returned. At that point he refused to acknowledge the medication is printed on the prescription aftercare summary. He said he would call The hospital, He then stated he spoke to A Doctor Who prescribed me Motrin and albuterol. That was completely untrue as I have never had a fever !!!! I then went to my car and spoke to a ER case worker who confirmed the medications printed it on my paperwork were correct and still he refused to fill the prescription! He told me my prescriptions had already been filled at Rite Aid. I called Rite Aid they said it was not true but they were willing to fill my prescription. I drove all the way over to Rite Aid. Only to get a call from the hospital letting me know a case worker had contacted yees pharmacy and my medication was ready!!!! 10 o'clock I walked into the pharmacy! I did not actually get my medication until 2 PM! Also I asked him why he was being snappy if he felt that I was being rude he said he felt that he was getting aggression from me the crazy thing is I really feel like he felt that way because I am African-American. I had not said anything aggressively, I simply try to clear up the confusion. I've been tried to be the bigger person by apologizing to him! He wouldn't even look me in the eye then gave me a dry apology and walked off. I will never return and I will also try to figure out how to escalate this with the good neighbor company. Update: I go over to Rite Aid put my prescription in and finally head home. 10 minutes later I get a call from Rite Aid saying The pharmacist at Yee's has requested to stop my prescription! Luckily the hospital straighten everything out I had already called them. Horrible horrible place read more

This little pharmacy is amazing. I have been going to CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid, my whole life. The employees at this pharmacy, and the pharmacists are always so happy. They are happy to assist you with anything and answer any questions that you could possibly have. If you walk in with a prescription they can get it to you faster than any other forms again. I walked in with a prescription that was sold out everywhere in Long Beach but this pharmacy had it and they got it to me in 10 minutes when usually it takes about two hours to get it from CVS. This is my new spot, the employees seem like they know the people that come in and out and recognize faces no stories.
