Roast Vegan
Sharvani M.

Such a cozy, homey spot - very small, with a fridge for cold drinks to grab yourself. You order at the counter and the sweetest older auntie brings out your food. INSANE vegetarian and vegan options, obviously - it took us maybe 20 minutes to even decide what we wanted because everything looked so good. Really good coffee too! I got the Roast Vegan (kale, sweet potatoes, mushrooms and a few delicious spreads / sauces) on focaccia, and my husband got the Samosa Burrito; we shared the Vietnamese iced coffee. My sandwich was delicious! Hearty, filling, savory, and the focaccia has just the right crisp-to-chewy ratio. My husband also enjoyed his burrito, and the iced coffee was perfect (though we did add some sugar). Highly recommend Yellow Bicycle! A very special spot in Philly with lots of heart.

I originally planned on going to middle child but on a Saturday the lines are always unbearably long. I noticed this vegetarian/vegan sandwhich place nearby and decided to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did! They have a good selection of sandwich, bagels, and breakfast goods. The staff recommended the Green Eggs and it was delicious!! The portion size is also huge so you can easily eat one half for breakfast and another half for lunch. It is a small shop so they have limited seating inside. They also have some chairs outside as well for seating. It didn't take long to get my food. Highly recommend checking this place out if you like vegetarian/vegan/healthy options!

What I quaint little swanky place in Philly my friend found. Neither of us had been here and she's not from this state. The service is very nice, the coffee was delish and my friend's vegan bagel sandwich was also delish. Parking is hard to find, however, doable after some time. The vibe is cool, not a whole lot of dining space, but some of you want to sit, which we did. A nice experience.

Really tasty vegetarian food option in Philly downtown near the Washington park. The service was prompt and they used freshly cooked vegetables in all the dishes. The hummus was in-house made and the salad and burrito were very filling. I highly recommend this place for a quick lunch/brunch stop.

Yellow Bicycle Canteen is a very delicious cafe that is a great spot for lunch! It's vegan/vegetarian, however it's better than most delis in the Philadelphia area. This is because the quality of the ingredients is so good! The chorizo egg and cheese is a great alternative for a sausage egg and cheese. It uses vegan chorizo, but I also think it had lentils as well. The jones sandwich is an all-star winner! It's a tomato mozzarella sandwich with herbed cream cheese, onions, roasted red pepper, and fresh pesto! The prices are around the same or even cheaper than deli sandwiches. But the quality goes above and beyond! The breads they use are always so delicious. I wonder if they make it fresh? The service is really nice. The employees will directly hand you your to-go foods. The cafe is also cute for a quick solo lunch or to bring one other person.

Yellow Bicycle Canteen is quite frankly the best breakfast/lunch joint in center city. No competition. Must get: sweet potato wrap, torta Meh: nothing yet Missed out: everything else (especially the curry soup) There are few restaurants that remind me why I love yelp, and Yellow Bicycle Canteen revigorated my love for food and yelping. This establishment checks all of the boxes, piping hot burritos/sandwiches the moment you order, reasonable prices, amazing hospitality and great vibes. I only had the sweet potato wrap and torta, my wife had the kale salad and I can only share my fondest memories of the swirling flavors and spices that rapidly disappeared as I hungrily devoured the best lunch I've had in years. I will be coming back for seconds, and that's saying something. Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Price: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Delicious high quality food at a great price along with friendly service and a relaxed vibe.

I got the Garden Quiche bagel this morning and it was sooo yummy!! Husband got the Potato Egg burrito and he said it was very good. I highly recommend this cute little spot. I really really liked my quiche bagel. It was incredible!! Very nice man there who took our order shortly after he opened up. Got our food pretty quickly. I don't give 5 stars often but this spot definitely deserves it!

Cute spot for takeout lunch! I have gotten their Vietnamese coffee, it was strong as it should be and perfectly not too sweet. I also had their egg salad sandwich on sourdough. Their potato salad was also a nice snack for lunch.

Oh my! The sandwiches here! It was a very random walk-in on my part without much research. I would say get past their very simplistic ambiance & interior and come for food! Very tasty, loaded sandwiches and bagel sandwiches with vegan options. I loved it! My mom had cheese melt and I had vegan roast.

The Roti Canai was flaky, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the curry dipping sauce. The Red Curry Chicken was rich, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the Tofu Satay, which had great flavor, and the Pineapple Fried Rice with tofu was a standout--fresh, satisfying, and really tasty. The portions were generous. The only dish that didn't quite hit the mark was the Mama Chicken. It was a bit more heavily breaded than we expected and a little chewy, though we think that's probably because it's likely much better when served fresh in the restaurant. Overall, we had a good experience and are looking forward to dining in next time so we can try more of their specialty Malaysian dishes. Based on this meal, Banana Leaf has definitely earned a return visit.

The dining room is spacious, with +20 tables, and an open kitchen so you can watch the staff at work. Usually I call in takeout orders for pickup, but I have stayed for a meal (usually with friends). Friendly service. My favorites: - Roti Canai - this flaky appetizer is a crowd pleaser. And that savory curry sauce! - Kangkung Belacan - stir-fried greens with chili paste. I'm obsessed with them. They're seasonal, so you might not always be able to order them. - Taiwanese Chicken - tasty, with the right amount of soy sauce. - Thai Basil Noodles - drunken noodles! Perfect when I want starch in my life. They take credit cards now (including paying with a smartphone). But pay cash and your bill will be slightly less.

Lazy Sunday after an unsuccessful Memorial Day beach weekend. It was cold and rainy all weekend but…read morewe decided to hit up some beef noodle soup place to warm up. On this cold almost summer day, Nan Zhou was hustling and bustling. Separate parties at the same round table and clients coming in and out of the restaurant facade. Warm lighting and active banter. I received my bowl of beef noodle soup was pretty satisfied. Beef was tender with flavorful bites of fattiness. Somehow, the meat tastes beefier than beef. The cilantro had potent herbaceous flavor with some spinach(?) and mustard greens. Noodles were pleasantly chewy w variation in texture. Lowkey, everything else was alright. I like to be nice so I'll say no more. Cucumbers were fine

We came here around 1pm on a Sunday and ordered the mapo tofu with noodles, the house special…read morenoodle soup, and a shrimp stir fry. This place was packed, which is always a good sign, and even with that the staff stayed super prompt and professional. The house special was my favorite. I got it with the knife-cut noodles and it was perfect with the broth. The noodles had that slightly uneven, chewy texture that really holds onto the soup. I never thought I'd be the type to talk about "mouthfeel" but here we are. The broth itself was rich and savory with a deep beef flavor, a little bit of oil on top that adds body without feeling too heavy. It's that classic, comforting Chinese beef noodle soup done really well. I added a braised egg, which had great flavor soaked into it, though it was served cold, which threw me off a bit. The mapo tofu with noodles was also really solid. It had that signature spicy, numbing kick from the Sichuan peppercorns, balanced with a savory, slightly salty sauce. The tofu was soft and silky, and mixing it with the noodles made it extra satisfying. It's got some heat but not overwhelming, just enough to keep you going back for another bite. The shrimp stir fry was lighter but still flavorful. The shrimp were cooked well, tender with a slight snap, and the sauce leaned more on the savory side with a mild sweetness. It felt like a nice balance alongside the heavier noodle dishes. Couple practical things: it's cash only, but there's an ATM right by the seating area which makes it easy. And the portions are generous for the price, so it feels like a really good deal. Overall, super satisfying spot. Busy, a little chaotic, but the food absolutely delivers. Definitely a go-to if you're craving hand-pulled noodles.

Me and my siblings always clear the entire bowl and leave nothing behind. Their spring rolls are a MUST TRY because it's always very crispy and steaming hot when they serve it to you. The drinks are amazing especially their fruit smoothies because they use actual fresh fruits so their drinks end up having a lot of flavor.
