I was introduced to Haraz at a Yelp elite event I was attending a few weeks ago and I knew I wanted to make my way there to check their location out. We ordered our drinks on the walk there and we hoped they would be ready when we arrived. When we walked in the time changed to add about 15 min on which was a bit annoying however we were not in a rush so we calmly waited. I got the hot matcha latte and it was really good. I like only a drop of sweetener bc I like to taste the matcha. I like it served temperature hot (not warm)- and this drink arrived exactly the way I like it. Would def come back for another one. My bf got some kind of coffee w cardamom in it (sorry I forget which kind - I'm not a coffee drinker and they all sound the same to me ha). He really enjoyed his drink. He had a BOGO coupon so we each actually got 2 drinks. I planned to take my second one home but the drink was so good I drank both of them ha. Will def be back again. read more

So Yelp suggested Haraz Coffee House a few weeks ago and it's been on my radar ever since.... What I appreciated about Haraz on the day I visited was the late hours they kept, I visited on a Saturday night and it was buzzing. It's the fanciest looking coffee house I ever visited, there's outside seating which is nice and the inside is lit up with warm yellow lighting throughout, very spacious with tables and wicker like chairs. It seems like a great spot to meet up with a friend or to visit, find a corner read or work. It looks like a family establishment, as I noticed there were children behind the register, a young man, maybe 10 years old took my order and did a great job doing so! Bravo! I purchased a vanilla hot matcha latte and a pistachio milk cake, the total was about $21!!! This price was expensive, visiting establishment like this often is not feasible to my budget but there's so much more I need to try so I'll be back. The matcha was amazing, actually the most authentic I've tried!!! And the pistachio milk cake was delicious, being a person who literally puts milk on cake lol, this was amazing!!! It wasn't too sweet and the pistachio gave balance! The slice is enough to share or split for 2 servings, which is what I did. Bottom line, I'll be back! Wow this place is so cute! It was pricey but I tried the Yemen coffee and a chocolate croissant. They had a lot of traditional pastries and traditional Yemen coffee. I tried the Harazi Mufawar which is Coffee, cardamom & cream. It reminded me of a spiced tea with milk. So good! read more

5/5 stars for great coffee options. Go somewhere else if you're hungry. I got the dark roast pour over. Had a great flavor, was so very acidic. Otherwise, nothing special about this place. I got the avocado toast, and it was overloaded with onions. I'm also tired and frustrated of restaurants serving up premade guac, putting a thin layer on whit bread toast only to call that avocado toast and charge me a fortune for that. Also, just give me a plate. I don't need to eat off of a weird cutting board. I tried a bite of one of the waffles my friend ordered. It was so sickening sweet. Some people dig that, I don't. Ambiance is nothing special. Very typical coffee shop. They even have a table with a cha that would have someone practically touching the trashcan. No thanks. They offer a student discount, but had no idea what to do when I presented my student ID. read more

Stopped by this morning to do some reading and light work. Ordered a Maleki and stayed for about an hour. They have a self-serve station, and one of the baristas brought my coffee to table, which was a nice touch! There are a handful of outlets and wi-fi is good here. There are also designated "no device" tables to promote conversations, which I think is a good idea or at least a good social commentary. Prices... a bit steep. I know there's spices that are pretty special when it comes to coffee places, but it's just enough to discourage me from becoming a regular, even if they are open pretty late in the evenings. read more

Oh my goodness, this place is a coffee & tea lovers paradise. Their hot saffron latte is so smooth & not at all perfume-y or soap like ( which can happen if saffron is overused in the infusion.) but this coffee was smooth and silky and just so rich and wonderful. I grew up with Caribbean coffee and well I don't consider myself coffee snob most American coffee taste burnt to me so having this place on our quick little road trip up to Philly was amazing. I so wish that there was one more local to us. My husband had another one of their Signature drinks. It was a different style of latte. That was really good with cardamom and something else. And one of their sandwiches I also got one of their hibiscus teas that I got iced. I love hibiscus tea and I could tell that the hibiscus petals were fresh and really really high-quality. It was one of the nicest cups of hibiscus tea I've ever had. And the service was absolutely stellar. Also, the coffee shop is beautiful. It's very very sleek and pleasant and just a really great place to stop if you're in Philly and desperately need a cup of Joe or a cup of tea, I would highly recommend this place. read more

The quality of coffee here is really great. This location is really busy, so the pastry items do go fast the later you come in the day. The pistachio latte is sweet and has a premium flavor profile. The Mediterranean morning sandwich was a basic choice on my part while they have so many other interesting pastries. Unfortunately, this location is so busy and it's hard to find a seat indoors next to an outlet. I hope they can looking into more solo-seating solutions so that individuals don't have to take up larger tables just because of the limited options. It was very busy inside with people studying, so the cafe is really calm but i would go outside to the outdoor seating if I wanted to talk just to keep the quiet ambiance. read more

Also ordered the Mediterranean morning croissant. It was fine as well. It was a little stale though since they don't make it fresh. Lastly, ordered the strawberry dubai chocolate. Great to see a Yemeni coffee shop in Philly! It's been a few weeks but they're now fully staffed to stay open till 10pm. Iced Mufawar - it was very creamy with a punch of cardamom 5/5 Cold Brew Coffee w/ pistachio cold foam - had to ask for more cold foam 2/5 Dropping a star because the prices are very high...I understand it's the city but NYC isn't charging these prices. Charging $7-$9 for a drink that's not even customized is a bit ridiculous. Heard the adeni chai is good, will try it if I visit again. Edit: dropping another star because they're back to closing at 8pm. It's very unprofessional to toggle back and forth timings. A prepared storefront that opens later and ready to go is better than having customers drive all the way to the store only to be closed. read more

I'm a huge fan of Yemeni Adeni chai and have been to Haraz's original location in Dearborn. This is a brand new location, but overall the staff was kind and learning quickly. We got the honeycomb cream cheese bread, spinach feta pastry, Pistachio Latte Iced, and Harazi Iced Latte. The Pistachio Latte has a STRONG pistachio flavor. Harazi Iced Latte is more of a masala chai profile with strong spices flavor (nutmeg/cinnamon?). The spinach feta pastry was great! Honeycomb bread wasn't as soft as I have had at other Yemeni coffee spots (Qahwah House, Qamaria), but wasn't bad. Overall, I'm big fan of the Yemeni coffee scene and alcohol-free "third spaces" that are open late. This isn't my top/favorite spot for Adeni chai and honeycomb bread, but it's a nice spot overall. One recommendation would be re-orient the line with the big main entrance, since that can be confusing currently. read more

Definitely on the expensive side, especially for the size of the sandwich. The bread was flaky and light and I actually think it would've been better without the bacon. I am glad Haraz opened up on Penn campus. This spot was vacant for a long time (formerly occupied by Starbucks many years ago). It is a decent size place, and when so went there were many students. I ordered qishr (coffee husks with cinnamon and ginger). I asked the employee if they had any decaffeinated Yemeni drinks, but due to the particular beans they use they don't have decaffeinated. He kindly led me to qishr and explained what it was. He did warn me that it has a very strong ginger flavor. I am used to drinking Korean ginger tea so I decided to give it a try. The verdict - it has a VERY strong ginger flavor! It is very warming so this will be a great winter drink. I do want to go back once the students are done for the school year, and I should go there earlier so I can try their caffeinated drinks. read more

I came after seeing a TikTok of a matcha flight they offered but learned it was only from 5-9 pm. However I got a salted caramel latte instead and it was very yummy. Delicious authentic Middle Eastern coffees and pastries where they serve the coffee super hot and spiced with cardamon. A great place near Drexel and Penn campuses to meet up for something a little special. The Turkish coffee is sweet and thick and served in a copper pot. The ambiance inside is nice for a casual hang out with a friend or meeting up with someone you haven't seen in a while for chai or coffee. The hours are really nice as they're open early. It gets really busy in the morning, so you order via the kiosk even though there's people at the bar. I got the morning mediterranean croissantwich and a pistachio latte. It cost me ~$20, which was overpriced. The latte was strong and reminded me of Qamaria's pistachio latte in terms of the cardamom syrup. The sweetness balanced well with the caffeine. The sandwich took a while to come out, so I went and checked in on it. It was sitting on the counter with the barista behind the bar until I asked. It also tasted pretty average - it needed some sort of sriracha or sauce, but the egg was cooked well and the croissant was somewhat flaky with the spinach and feta. I'd try this place at least once if you're a fan of Yemeni coffee, but would skip the food. read more

I've been here twice and the quality of coffee and drinks here is excellent as well the pastries was excellent. I especially love the rose milk cake - super light and moist. Love the saffron latte - not too sweet which the right amount of saffron flavor. The only reason it got a mark down was despite the immediate order and no line, if it's a full house, it might take a while to get your drink even when it's a to-go order (wait time is clearly an issue based on other review I am seeing). I got a to-go drink and didn't realize it would take 20+ minutes to wait for it which caused me to miss my train. If anything, if you are on-the-go, you can also order ahead of time for quicker pick up. I'd also advise staff that if it might take a while, please provide the courtesy and inform your customers. read more
