When I went to Haraz Coffee, for the first time, I noticed that the space is large and that the cafe is quite pretty and aesthetic (decorations, walls, lighting, etc). I wasn't sure what to order but I narrowed it down between a few things, and I also asked the server for their opinion. I ended up ordering the golden milk latte (with almond milk substituted for cow's milk), chicken patty (savory pasty), and biscoff mosaic cake (since they ran out of the dubai chocolate mosaic cake that I wanted to try). At first, I liked the golden milk latte since it was sweet but not too sweet. However, as I almost finished my drink, the drink was grainy and heavily spiced near the bottom of my drink, since the spices were not mixed well with the milk. However, I enjoyed pairing it with the biscoff mosaic cake with my golden milk latte, since the spiced drink paired nicely with the cake. The mosaic cake had bits of biscoff cookie mixed into the cake (which is why looks like a mosaic) and it had crushed biscoff cookies on the top sides of the triangular cake. The chocolate mosaic cake had a thick texture, similar to softer version of fudge, and the biscoff cookie added a nice crunch, with each bite. I also liked it because I do like the taste of biscoff cookies, in general. Lastly, I tried the chicken patty, which ended up being my favorite, due to the flaky dough and creamy chicken inside. I would come back again to try a different drink and dessert, but I would order the chicken patty again. :)

I don't recommend this location, I personally prefer its other location in center city. Baristas were nice and a drink was good but the place itself is not clean, not well maintained, and outside of it also too much trash. They didn't have most of their signature pastries, shop was not well stocked.

I love the Turkish coffee here! They do the setup really nice on a tray and serve it at your table. The orange tea cake is delicious and soft and would pair well with any beverage. The interior is rly cute.

I've had one coffee here so far -- the Pistachio Latte -- and it was kind of perfect. It was smooth and rich, with just the right amount of sweetness. I would come back just to try more coffees, but also... This is a such a great space to work! It's huge, open, has high ceilings, and huge windows providing tons of natural light. Not to mention, it's QUIET and not an AC deep freeze (*cough cough* like Starbucks). And the staff is super-friendly...something that can't be overstated in this city.

Omg the Pistachio Croissant is one of the best I have tried! So crispy and flaky on the outside and stuffed with delicious pistachio filling on the inside. The Pistachio filling is not overly sweet and tastes like pure pistachios. I also got the hot Pistachio latte but it wasn't that great, might be better iced. Will definitely come back for the croissants!!

Large open coffee shop with plenty of seats, lots of big windows and natural light. We stopped by and ordered 2 hot coffees: jubani and mufawar. And a pistachio raspberry tart. Both coffees were very aromatic and of the two we preferred the mufawar. Jubani was very light with flavors of ginger and cardamom. It was closer to a tea than a coffee. Mufawar was creamy and spiced (cardamom). Both coffees had a lot of sediment at the bottom of the cup which I learned is normal for Turkish coffee. The pistachio raspberry tart was delicious. Expensive at $9 but very good. Perfectly crispy crust with a sweet nutty soft middle. They had several other baked goods in the bakery display that looked great! I would definitely come back!

Atmosphere: I was excited to try Haraz Coffee House after hearing so many recommendations, and it did not disappoint. The interior is well-lit and beautiful, with nods to Yemeni culture throughout. They also provide a dedicated, closed-off area for patrons and staff to observe their salat. Food: I ordered an iced caramel latte, served in a clear glass filled right to the brim. The coffee had a rich, full flavor that really stood out. Service: The service was warm, friendly, and very family-oriented. During my visit, the owner personally went around offering patrons samples of their pastries. Overall, I highly recommend Haraz Coffee House.

I came here at roughly 6:30pm on a Wednesday, and it was pretty crowded and lively! I have never been to a Haraz location so I was pretty excited, and I got the rose scone and the iced Haraz latte. The ambiance is amazing - this is a perfect place to relax or socialize with your friends. The atmosphere is so warm and the staff is very kind. I will be returning & I love that there's a space that is open late for people to hang out at that's not a bar!

The Haraz Coffee House in Fishtown recently opened up and I figured I should finally leave the house and check it out. There were a lot of people working remotely and studying which was nice to see because I came to do that exact same thing. There's plenty of seating and the aesthetics of the coffee house is very cute! I got a matcha frap (not pictured) and I did not enjoy it. I asked the staff for a recommendation and they suggested the strawberry matcha and it was an excellent 2nd drink! I also got chicken patty which tasted delicious but it was small for the price. The owner came around later in the afternoon and gave our samples of tahini chocolates which I was skeptical about at first but it was actually quite delicious!

    Everything Bagel Bun

I didn't have that great service when I visited, so I'm only rating 4 out of 5 stars. I'm hoping it's just because the place opened up and that it'll get better with time. I got the Mufawar Coffee, Cardamom Scone, and I forgot the name of it but it was like an Everything Bagel Bun. It was a milk bun with everything seasoning, cream cheese in the middle, and pickled onions and capers on top. I didn't get my pastries warmed up, but that didn't matter because they were tender and flavorful without the heat. I appreciated the spices in the Mufawar coffee, but I'd recommend getting it with a little bit of sugar. I came early on a Sunday morning and it was a little busy but many empty seats were still available. I got a beeper when I ordered and brought it back when it started vibrating. When I got my bun, I was told the coffee and scone would be coming soon. The issue was that it took over 30 minutes and some badgering to get all my food. I asked twice before someone took the bun out of the pastry cabinet and gave it to me. Later, a staff member went around asking guests if they got everything, so I think maybe something happened. Other than that, the place is clean, organized, and pretty to look at. The staff is nice and I think they're doing their best.

This pistachio latte was everything that I imagined and more. Me and my friend went there pretty close after they opened. We got our coffees out pretty quickly. The aesthetics of the place were gorgeous. I could definitely come here and study for a longer period of time. I would love to come back again to try different coffees.

Such a lovely spot. You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring the food to your table. The quiche was delicious, and the coffee was excellent. The menu offers a great variety, which is always a plus. Parking can be a bit tricky if you're coming from farther away, but overall I highly recommend this place.

I attended the grand opening. The flyer and signs advertised free drinks It only included samples of coffee and chai outside. This is fine except the flyer and signs made it sound like an actual free drink. Several other customers I talked to felt the same. I tried the chai It had an interesting flavor from the spices. It also had cream instead of milk so the texture was creamier than other chais I've had. It was strong with an almost coffee like bitterness. The brown butter chocolate chip cookie and snickerdoodle samples were tasty, I purchased a cardamom and rose scone. It was delicious. The scone had a candy, fluffy texture with lots of cardamon flavor. The glaze took it to another level! The staff was nice but a little confused. A sign offered 15% discount on all purchases but I didn't receive a discount. The cashier didn't know anything about it even though the sign was on the counter. She called over someone to help but they couldn't figure out how to give discount. In the confusion, I didn't get my change of almost $1 either. I didn't realize until I sat down. With all the confusion it wasn't worth asking-. The space is beautiful with large windows, lots of tables and a Middle Eastern vibe. It would be a nice place to meet up with friends.

It's my mom's favorite restaurant in Philly by a long shot, and maybe even her favorite restaurant in the world. The first time I came, you had to pick one main for the table. We were split between a fish dish and grape leaves and ultimately decided on the fish, but our waitress brought a small portion of the grape leaves for us anyways. They always do something special like that, and it's an amazing touch that makes the experience so special! I like that they've changed it so each person picks a main, as it gives you the opportunity to try more things. Their signature lamb shoulder is great (and I have hated every other lamb I've had), and the fish dishes are always excellent. The best thing imo, though, is the crispy Persian rice! Philly has a lot of amazing food, but Zahav is up there for a reason. If you're lucky enough to snag a reservation it's worth the splurge. Clear space in your fridge for lots of leftovers before you get home!

It consists of ten salads which can all be refilled as needed. At the center is a bowl of creamy hummus and a side of fluffy pita. The dishes change based on the season so ours had a lot of summer produce. Considering the salads are already premade and that this platter is served to everyone by default, I would have expected it to come out to our table almost immediately after seating. This way, we could have had more time to sample each one and decide if we want refills. The portion is quite large and filing so we barely got seconds of anything. - cauliflower shawarma (6/10): roasted cauliflower on a bed of tahini with pine nuts. The cauliflower was cooked very well. Roasting it gave it a soft and slightly creamy texture that falls apart in your mouth. When we first ate it, there was no spice at all. It seemed like all the flavor was in the sauce at the base. Pouring the sauce on the top or mixing it in more thoroughly would have made for a richer experience. - mushroom shishlik (6/10): portobello mushrooms and asparagus on a herby tahini sauce. This one had more flavor than the cauliflower but I was not a huge fan of how the mushrooms were cooked. The pieces felt large and not pleasant to bite into. They also had a meaty and chewy texture. - eggplant (8/10): grilled eggplants with dollops of tomato sauce. This was by far the best of the vegetarian entrees. The eggplant is very soft and creamy with the right amount of spice from the topping. The red sauce which I assumed to be tomato based added freshness and acidity. With a scoop of hummus from the salatim on top of a piece of pita, it was an enjoyable bite. - tahini soft serve (7/10): tahini soft serve with chocolate magic shell. The dessert is included in the menu and this is the vegan option. After the salatim and the entrees, we were quite stuffed and barely had an appetite for dessert. The tahini ice cream has a strong bitter flavor with the mildest touch of sweetness. While I liked the concept of the chocolate shell, I would have wanted it to be thinner so that it could crack easier. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I think some of the dishes are worth trying but going at a less busy time would be more enjoyable.

We started off with the Manti dumplings and broth, unfortunately, they were overcooked, dry and some had burnt skin. but when we pointed it out, the server didn't see anything wrong with it, maybe that's common for them, but that's not how we normally experience Manti at other restaurants Next, I had the chard octopus it wasn't charred. From the outside, it doesn't look like much; in fact, it looks like a bit of a dive from outside. But when you walk in, you are transported. The design of the restaurant is so special - community tables, pillows, tapestries, waterfall features, tiles, and belly dancing. The food was a little inconsistent. We shared many dishes: Bastilla (baked layers of filo dough, eggs, chicken, almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar); hummus (chickpeas, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sprinkled with paprika and olive oil, served with pita bread); Spanakopita; salad trio (eggplant salad, cucumber and tomato salad, and carrot salad); lamb tagine (stew of lamb, onions, and roasted peppers topped with honey and served with rice); Moroccan chicken with harissa cumin sauce; mujaddara (cracked bulgur wheat cooked with lentils and caramelized onions); and mint tea. I wish they didn't serve bottled waters, and the food was mostly good but not the most consistent. Our mujaddara wasn't served with the yogurt sauce listed on the menu, and the lamb with the tagine was incredibly fatty, making some of it inedible. The mint tea was really really really sweet - like syrup! I also wish the bastilla had a little less powdered sugar (I like on the dish, but it was A LOT of powdered sugar), and it was quite dry. But the eggplant salad, carrot salad, hummus, and mujaddara (even without the yogurt sauce) were great. I would happily have eaten just those dishes. They were busy - it's a popular place - but service was also a challenge. It took us almost a half hour to get the check and pay. I had to ask for the bill twice and then it still took a while to get it, for it to get picked up, and for it to come back to us. It's pretty bad if I'm considering walking up to the bar to get the check and pay. I loved the ambiance and the character. I loved that you can't tell how amazing it's going to be inside when you see the outside of the building - it's a surprise for sure. Our experience was that the food was a bit inconsistent, but it certainly was a fun meal.
