Amazing!! We were driving through on our way to Texas and needed some breakfast. It was busy at 9:00 on a Sunday morning. Dining room was bustling and full of families and friends. Staff was welcoming, helpful in suggestions and confirmed their Louisiana grits were gluten free. And let me tell you... those Louisiana grits with bacon and shrimp and cheese were absolutely delicious! Definitely will stop here again! Took a short walk around the corner to Luma coffee for a proper latte after and what a winning duo. I'll write a recipe for them too! Top notch! And I'm a coffee snob

I always try and find local establishments when I travel for football and the Yellow Bird Café did not disappoint. Their food was hot fresh and fast. Their staff is friendly and portions are generous. I recommend adding a couple of fried eggs on top of the grits

LOVE Yellow Bird. The prices, the service, the food. 10/10. I typically get the Two To Tango but I decided to venture off and ended up with a new favorite the Molletes, it comes with 2 long Mexican breads with refried beans and Swiss cheese. Super soft, super amazing with chorizo. I always get the Ponchatoula favorite pancakes as well & their AMAZING tamales!

Don't think twice. It's great food y'all! The service is warm and inviting - reminds me of eating at home. It's literally a house, but with a great menu. We enjoyed our visit! Great

Oh my goodness this is our new favorite breakfast place! My husband got the yellow bird breakfast, the potatoes -AMAZING!! The sausage links - AMAZING!! I got the BLTA (BLT with avocado) and it was sooo goo! Honestly the grilled potatoes were my favorite part of the meal but everything was delicious! Can't wait to go back and try more!

Great fresh breakfast, but the location seems very busy. I've never dined in but I hope to one day, only called in to order and most of the time no one is able to pick up. I can understand why they're so busy, the food is really good.

I really enjoyed this little place. We thought it might be good from the line of people they had waiting. Not bad of a wait, we were seated, and my party of five had to wait just a little bit to get waited on, but judging from the crowd, it was no problem. Coffee is good and hot. The food was absolutely seasoned to perfection. One of the reasons we love coming to Louisiana is because they know how to season food and this place did not disappoint. I got the Cajun grits and they were superb. other people got the omelettes English muffins were delicious as well as the potatoes again they were seasoned beautifully. My husband got over easy, eggs, toast, and he was very pleased. We will be returning.

Experience and service excellent food was awesome as usual a must place to eat when in Hammond

Nice and smooth, without the slightly harsh after taste you get from so many other coffees around. It's amazing! The service is far above average! Always friendly and extremely helpful. You don't feel rushed to make a decision and they always help you out with suggestions if needed. It feels like... You're at a friend's house. The volume is usually low on background music & customers talking, which adds to the mellow feel. Honestly, I can't find one thing wrong with this place. There's even a bagel menu, full of choices of your hungry. Great place to hang and work, read, chat, or just chill. I'd highly recommend it! Love this little place! Very eclectic and cool. The Staff is friendly and helpful. The crepes look delish (Although I didn't try one this time), and the coffee was amazing! Freshly made to order and served in cute sky blue cups. WiFi avail and low music in the background. There is also a small courtyard in the back and a few tables out front as well if you prefer to sit and enjoy the great outdoors. Lots of choices for coffee, teas, and yes Crepes (Which I'll be trying next time!!) I'll certainly be back! I'd recommend this little spot to all. Great to have coffee, relax, or just chill with your computer.

Located in the downtown area of Hammond, this may be my favorite restaurant in the area and for good reason! The interior has the right amount of lighting to give an intimate feel and there's plenty of indoor seating where tables can be pushed together for large parties. The bar area is also comfy if you're looking to pop in for a glass of wine or a cocktail. Speaking of which, there's plenty of wine by the glass and featured bottle wines. It doesn't have as expansive of a bottle wine menu like other Italian spots but they don't need to as they offer about a dozen wines each from the USA and from the Italy/Spain/Argentina regions. So you'll find whatever you need to suit your tastes. And then there's cocktails. All the classics (Cosmopolitan, Manhattan, Old Fashioned) are here with some Italian favorites like the Negroni. The popular ones amongst us were the Limoncello Spritz (think of a vodka sparkling lemonade), the Espresso Martini, and the Basil Cucumber Gimlet. Tasty and pretty presentations! As for eats, the shareables that are must-orders are the Italian Meatballs (served in polenta w/ spicy tomato sauce), the Calamari, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Caprese Salad. These always made the table whenever we were here; the meatballs and brussels sprouts being the ones people couldn't stop eating. The turtle soup is also a good first course if you're going light. It was my first time having turtle soup and I enjoyed the heck out of it! For pastas/entrees, it depends how heavy you want to go. The pastas that we loved were the Fusilli and Casarecce. The Fusilli has a cajun spicy tomato base w/ shrimp, italian sausage, basil, and mushrooms; an excellent combination of ingredients for a delicious pasta dish. The Casarecce is more simple using a parmeson garlic cream sauce and a pan-fried breaded chicken breast on top. For entrees, the pork osso buco, duck breast, and diver scallops were all wonderful. The osso buco especially being super tender was a crowd-pleaser. They also have a filet mignon special w/ a fried potato cake and asparagus garnish finished in a red-wine demi glaze; this special was ordered by several people each time and had all of us oohhh'ing and ahhh'ing every time it was delivered. The filet is super tender and the potato cake is a great complimentary side to it. For dessert, we usually share the house cheesecake which has chocolate chips and caramel with a cookie crust; a perfect way to finish off the meal. That's if we save room for dessert! This spot is a must-visit and a place we plan to frequent whenever we're in Hammond. They also have a lot of gluten-free options in case you have a gluten intolerance. Do yourself a favor and check this spot out; you won't regret it!

We had already eaten lunch, so I didn't order any food, but we were able to enjoy the complimentary hot, fresh bread along with some great drinks. Of all the drinks we tried, the Golden Peach, Passion Fruit Martini, and the recommended Mini Beer Shots were my favorite. I also love that they use fresh fruit and ingredients in their beverages you can really taste the difference it made. We were able to sit at the bar that day and received great service from Ashlyn. She was very nice, personable, and attentive. She made the experience feel so welcoming and pleasant that we decided to go back the very next day with more family members. Unfortunately, our Saturday visit during the Hot August Stroll was a completely different experience. And it wasn't because of how busy things were or the events taking place. The issue was the inconsiderate service we received from our waitress, C. The service was so disappointing that I won't even go into detail, but it definitely changed my overall impression of the restaurant. Would I recommend One Thirteen? It really depends on what you're going for and, honestly, which server you happen to get. The ambiance is definitely one of the highlights. It's cute, colorful, pink, and very aesthetically pleasing. It would be a great spot for Happy Hour, birthdays, brunch, date night, or even a work gathering.
