That one hits like a perfect riff at just the right moment. Sweet, rich, and laid back in all the right ways and like it knew exactly why you showed up. They've got fresh baked goods dialed in too and this is their thing, and you can taste it in every bite. Service? Kinda like a wandering solo... not always in sync, not always warm, but hey the music (aka the food) keeps the whole thing together. In the end, it's one of those places you stumble into and remember later with a smile. If the road ever brings us back through Pacific City, we'll swing by again and let it play on.

There is also a good level of fish sauce. The flavor was awesome! I had the cornmeal-crusted tofu, which was excellent. The portion is also nice and large, so I was able to enjoy my pad thai a second day. We'll definitely eat here again next time we're in the area.

We ordered a cold brew, an oat milk iced latte, and a scone. The latte was mid especially given the price at over $7. The cold brew was fine. The scone was a bit of an impulse purchase but was the best part of our visit. It was tasty and not at all dry. Service was slow but they were dealing with a lot of customers so I can't fault them for that during this visit.

The bartender and I were having a cordial conversation and learning where each other came from. She had told me she had came from Bend which was kind of cool because I had just came from bend earlier in my travels. The man said he had a grudge against me from the previous day where we had maybe a 2-minute conversation about pretty much nothing and he walked away. I thought that was the end of it. I came in today to get some food. Some sweets and a few drinks and head home like a normal human being. This man wanted to deal with his psychological issues pertaining to yesterday's incident when I had no recollection of said incident. I told him I knew nothing about what he was talking about the day before and that he seemed like a good-hearted person and we could have a good conversation. He proceeded to tell me that wasn't the case and that he wanted to have words and physically harm me in some way outside. He then was talked to by the bartenders and left without incident. I just don't understand how people can be the way they are when all I'm trying to do is have a nice summer vacation for myself and Liv in a way that keeps the peace. On a side note, the food is delicious. They have good prices on alcoholic drinks and their pastries are phenomenal. Just watch out if you see a bald guy that works there cuz I don't want other people to have to deal with that kind of confrontation. They had old game boards hung up like wall paper, it was neat to see some that I almost forgot about as a child. I saw they had a ribeye special that I wished I would have tried. An older man named Mike came over and said we were in the way, so we moved over. But no matter where we moved, we were in his way due to the size of our group. He continued to make rude comments to multiple people in our group. It was causing a scene, so we decided to leave. One person in our group mentioned to him that he could have been kinder, as our intention was to help. After he recognized someone in our group whose family comes here regularly (and recommended this place), he followed us out into the parking lot and apologized. Then he asked us to come back into his establishment, adding that he was the owner. He stated that customers and tourists have been frustrating him all day and that's why he snapped at us... At that point, we were so turned off by the whole experience that we thanked him for the apology and left. Every single person in our group has worked in the service industry and were shocked to be treated this way, especially by the owner.

I had fries and my wife had tots. My wife was jealous of the fries, for the first time ever. You don't see fries served in a little basket too often, but they were crispy and fried to perfection. Not the normal frozen fries that you see. The burger tasted great and the service was great. We each had a cocktail. People were talking to each other. This was just what we want in a dive bar. When I'm back in Pacific City in the future, I will not hesitate to stop at Meg's.

My son has a major dairy allergy so when I saw there was dairy in the fruit smoothie, I mentioned my son can't have it and the girl working said "um you'll have to pay for a new one"... I didn't love the snarky comment. After we paid for the second one with no dairy, she handed it to me and just turned away after giving it to me. Didn't say a word. I suggest having dairy labeled on your smoothie menu/ingredients so there's no more miscommunication since it's a major allergen! We understand they're a small coffee shop, but I still think customer service is important.
