The BEST pad thai I've had!!!!!!!! We had lunch at Beach Walk this week and were impressed with the flavors. As they note on the menu, the pad thai is very citrus-forward. There is also a good level of fish sauce. The flavor was awesome! I had the cornmeal-crusted tofu, which was excellent. The portion is also nice and large, so I was able to enjoy my pad thai a second day. We'll definitely eat here again next time we're in the area. read more

Because of our most recent experience I'm taking what would have been a solid 4, or 4.5 star down to a 3. We've visited Beach Wok a few times over the years, and each time we've found it to be fresh and of good quality. However, on our most recent visit, we discovered that half of our dishes were dry and partially inedible. The main issue with our to-go order was the ribs. For my kids, I ordered the BBQ ribs. At least half were too dry and tough to eat without posing a choking risk. For myself, I placed an order for the gluten-free sweet and sour ribs. Mine were at least 3/4 too dry to eat, to the point I was trying to drink water while chewing in order to get the meat soft enough to swallow. It just wasn't worth the risk or pain in my jaw so I ended up throwing away most of the two rib orders. My husband's fish and chips were fine, as well as the cucumber salad, edamame, and a grilled cheese I also ordered for the kids. I was planning on ordering from Beach Wok a second night, but with the prices as high as they are and our bad experience a few nights earlier, I decided against it. This was a quick stop yesterday for lunch. They have a vast menu it was hard to decide what to pick. I selected the pad Thai because that is often a go to for a Thai restaurant. They have many other items besides Thai food. The YS selected chicken tacos which came with a side salad. The side salad was as big as a lot of salads you have for a meal. My portions on the pad Thai were very big as well. We took these leftovers and had them for dinner also. The service was quick and friendly. They have a small space but they also have covered outdoor seating as well. They were doing a brisk take out business when we were there for lunch on a weekday. All in all a solid meal and then some. I was here for the first time on my birthday a few nights ago. It felt like comfort food. The two appetizers we had were really great. The fried calamari was my favorite out of the two. The shrimp pad thai I got was massive. It had a really good flavor as well, which tasted like lime, and the noodles had a great texture. The service was solid here. From start to finish, everyone was very attentive and polite. Inside, it was light and bright. There was a decent amount of room with an ample number of tables. The staff was friendly and helpful but oh my gosh that food was absolutely awful. I will never go there again. The yakisoba was made from sugar water and spaghetti noodles and the noodles were hardly cooked. There's no reason to go here, please spend your money on something better. read more

We liked the food we ordered just fine. We were less than impressed by the customer service though. A woman took our order over the phone and was helpful and welcoming. A young man greeted me while picking up the order and told me about a mandatory 15% add on which was also posted on their counter. I am a former food server and am all about tipping for service. If this is truly a policy for take out orders, that is something I should have been informed about on the phone while placing my order. Not after Ive ordered and you've cooked the items and I am hungry picking them up. It felt predatory at best. 5 stars and all we had was the pad thai! And by we, I mean me and my family of 6! We all ordered either the pad thai chicken or pad thai shrimp. The service was great; everyone was friendly and we were seated so quick! The food was 100% the star of the show and as a family that came from Cali, we all have said this was the best pad thai we've ever head in cali and in oregon. they make it not sweet, more so citrusy and savory, which is what we love! the shrimp was cooked perfectly. we would not change ANYTHING about this and my sister in law even told the owner this. This place was amazing! everything on the menu is clearly labeled for either vegan, vegetarian, or GF issues (if that's something that you need to be aware of). The choices of different dishes were pretty impressive as well. My grand kids had delicious fried rice dishes, my daughter had a curry which she LOVED, and i had a special which was a Mongolian Stir fry, fresh broccoli, perfectly cooked, with onions and mushrooms, and a zesty ginger soy sauce, served with jasmine rice. 3 of 4 dishes were GF. We also shared a GF flourless chocolate torte with raspberry sauce and whip cream. It was a really incredible meal. Our server was incredibly sweet and helpful. She packed up any left overs and included any condiment that might have been desired as well, without us even thinking to ask. The grand kids said, "well we know where we want to eat every meal!" This little restaurant with an unassuming exterior on Pacific Ave in Pacific City is not to be missed! I've visited Beach Walk twice on our two trips to Pacific City, and it will absolutely be a destination each time we return. There's tables inside, a couple covered tables outside and some picnic tables fenced off right next to the street. Service is always stellar. The food, though, is something else. On our most recent trip I ordered the Korean meatball entree with yakisoba, stepson had a buffalo chicken sandwich and wife had the BBQ pork fried rice special. The food was delicious on this trip, and was delicious last year! Hot, full of flavor, plenty big and made with love. We were intrigued by the name and pictures from the reviews. The menu is extensive so we took a while to order. We started with the bacon katsu skewers, then soup -clam chowder for the Hubbs and hot and sour soup for me. Both were quite good. Then the meatball appetizers. Yum. We knew we were going to be taking food home, so I got the steak yakisoba and the Hubbs had the calamari with noodles. Both were really good. And we have dinner for tomorrow too! I think this maybe my favorite restaurant in Pacific City! This place has it in terms of taste, value, availability and friendliness. We tried a different place that had no seating for an hour so we hopped over here and it was so good! We were served by the nicest waiter. We got the popcorn chicken which was super crispy and had the tastiest gochujang sauce. I ordered the Korean meatballs which came with plenty of meatballs over perfectly cooked jasmine rice. My son tried the Asian ribs that were so tender and flavorful. I also tried a bite of my husbands shrimp tacos bc I need to know what to get next time. Basically, there's something for everyone. Lunch with two of my besties. We were seated by Hunter our sever. He was sweet and friendly. He did an amazing job attending to us. We started off with the edamame and the spring rolls, cooked to perfection. The ingredients in this appetizer were incredible. Something to write home about. Next we ordered the coconut shrimp. It was lightly fried and very tasty. The pad thai was made with the freshest ingredients. The shrimp was delicious! I ordered the margarita. You could actually taste the tequila which I appreciated. My husband and I ate at Beach Walk twice during a short Pacific City weekend trip - once by ourselves and once with a group of friends. It sounds wild to say, but truly, the Bun Bo Xao is truly one of the best dishes I've ever had. The homemade cookies (especially the peanut butter one) are a must. We ended up here after a very disappointing experience at a much fancier restaurant in town (where we ended up leaving without having dinner). It was my husband's birthday, and we really wanted to enjoy a nice meal and celebratory drinks, and while Beach Walk isn't fancy, it was fantastic! The food is delicious and portions are huge! (We ordered Pad Thai and Red Curry, and they asked if we wanted them to split them for us since we were going to share. When they brought the first dish, I thought they had forgotten to split it because it was so big, but it turned out that was only half!) Cocktails were tasty and very affordable. The panko cod fish tacos were great. 3 good size pieces of cod fish tacos with cabbage, cilantro and their housemade sauce was amazing, for my side got a cup of chowder for $1 more. The flavor of the chowder was good but a little thin. I usually like my chowdera little thicker. They added bacon to the chowder which of course made it taste even better. Everyone loved thier food.
