Well this was a nice surprise! This place has made itself into a destination by making some wonderful food and having a charming back patio + garden. The salad was the standout dish as it was LOADED with berries. The flatbread pizzas were great too and while they didn't re-invent pizza, they get full points for simplicity and quality ingredients. Will be back next time we are at Cape Lookout. They also have a little shop if you need to resupply on clothes, basic groceries, or want a gift for a friend/keepsake to take home. read more

This is a charming place. The outdoor seating is lovely and they had live music on the patio. My husband didn't find anything g to his liking on the menu. I tried the Mexican corn chowder and the sandwich with the artichoke dip, cheese and ham. The soup was good, and the sandwich was delicious, but it was very rich - I should have shared with someone. The store is gorgeous inside and out. I was greeted with a sample of their artichoke dip as soon as I walked in and spent a lot of time browsing through the store. They carry some of everything - snacks, produce, clothes, gifts, baked goods, etc. I ordered The Esterman sandwich, and spent the next few days thinking about how delicious it was. Good coffee, too. Hidden gem on HWY 101, great place to take a break from driving or to make it your destination. The owner Amanda is super and accommodating. Beautiful place, tons of flower gardens, the setting is beautiful. Fresh oysters everyday, we had fun shucking our own and enjoying a glass of buttery Chardonnay from their winery, please note this is not a winery. The artichoke dip with bay shrimp was very flavorful, ask them to warm it up for you they serve with chips and it's a whole new level of yummy! Try the mimosas as well, they serve with mermaid kisses of edible shimmer. Lavender was my favorite. read more

We live in Neskowin, just south of Bear Creek Artichokes. We drive by frequently. Today, we finally (been in the area for twenty years...) stopped to check in. What a great experience! The food was exceptional. I had the "Spicy Hog", medium heat. That's grilled ham with cream cheese and sweet (but hot) chili sauce on great grilled bread. My bride had "The Italian", tomato/homemade pesto and provolone grilled. Both were Incredible! The crew are fun and engaging. It was a beautiful day and the al fresco atmosphere was perfect. I can't believe that we have missed out on this amazing place for so long. We gave the crew fair warning of our likely weekly visits. There is also a very cool retail shop. read more

We found this place a year or so ago and fell in love. Nice selection of hot sauces, produce, beer and wine, sweet bakery treats as well as other necessities and fun locally made stuff etc. We were raving about them to anyone who would listen. We are a white heterosexual couple btw. Upon arriving recently we saw this sign in our photo and inquired to make sure we were reading it and understanding what they were saying. They assured us that they were doing away with Budweiser products for the reason we thought. Budweiser is including people in their adds Bear creek Artichoke does not want included in their customer base or on this earth is how I read it. To quote Maya Angelou "When someone shows you who they are believe them the first time." I am not sure Maya Angelou nor anyone looking like her would be welcome here and we don't feel welcome here anymore either as they seem to dislike inclusivity. Which is: the practice or policy of providing equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized, such as those having physical or intellectual disabilities or belonging to other minority groups: I appreciate this business revealing who they wish to exclude from their store so I can shop elsewhere. The name is a bit of a misnomer - this is not a place that has a wide variety of artichokes for sale. They do have a beautiful garden (wedding venue?), a fantastic assortment of edible gifts, mainly jams, and have fresh oysters for sale! The shocker was how good their bakery is. We had a peanut butter tart and and Oreo tart (pictured). The person who ordered and ate all of the creamy peanut butter tart couldn't stop talking about how wonderful it was. I had the Oreo tart - very cream cheesy, and had a nice sugar grit bite to it. Loved it! Nice little stop just south of town if you are visiting the creamery. Try the bakery. Their sandwiches looked phenomenal, but unfortunately we weren't their at the right time to have any of those :-( read more

We popped in here on the way to Tillamook. The garden grounds are beautiful & nicely maintained even in late March, although we want to come back and see blooms! There are sweet little paths meandering the flower beds, quaint patio seats, and a fun boutique kitchen store. We decided to have the warm Artichoke Dip & Chips- and this was amazing! Saw this place in my way home from doing a work presentation in Tillamook and the "fresh oysters" sign made me true around. What a great treat. We were out on a casual drive to the beach. Saw the store front and thought what a cut place to stop by and wander. Wow were we surprised. Cute little shop with gardens to walk through. And then we saw food being served. Walked back in to the store and saw the little counter to order food. Such pleasant people helping us with ordering and service. Now to the food. We ordered the artichoke dip . It was very yummy and a good size for sharing. We also shared the star of the lunch. The Rueben. Wow top two or three Ruben's I have ever had. We're talking 45-50 different Rueben sandwich's all over the US. It was awesome. If you're driving down the 101 you absolutely need to stop here. We were initially just stopping to stretch our legs and maybe try some artichoke dip, but we didn't even realize it would be one of our favorite stops on our trip. The second we walked in we were greeted with kindness and amazing service. We weren't planning on eating, but when we saw their menu we knew we had to try it. I had the artichoke grilled cheese and a normal grilled cheese will never suffice again. My husband had the spicy hog sandwich with the ghost pepper jam and officially named it the best sandwich he's ever had. Eating on the garden patio felt so zen. Let's just start by saying this place was more than Meets the eye . It's all you need in a general store/ farm house. 1st thing I notice was the kindness of the staff specially of Amanda, she was such a beautiful soul to have come across. From cool flavorful jams, pasta, sauces, candy, drinks, deli meats, teas and milk to clothing abs skin care ( I'm pretty sure i missed a bunch of other things) We came across this gem while driving down from Newport. Our son felt sick and we had to make a quick stop to clean him up. My husband comes out and tells me " babe you got to check out this place inside" We picked up some goodies to go, the turkey and cream cheese scone was amazing ( thanksgiving in your mouth) my son picked a grilled cheese to go and we couldn't resist the blueberry and lemon scone along with maple pecan scone. Stopped here randomly on the way out to Tillamook because the parking lot was packed and that made us curious. It's a combination market,/boutique/restaurant and they're doing all of those things well. The market was filled with lots of fresh fruit and veggies along with a large selection of unique beers and wine. The boutique had cute women's clothing and jewelry. The restaurant had amazing selection of sandwiches. The warm and delicious kind with melty cheese and probably artichokes. Sadly we had just eaten so I didn't try any but I did stare at them longingly on everyone's plates. There was also a spinach and artichoke dip that a few tables were eating and they seemed to be enjoying it. So yes, I didn't actually eat anything here but based on looks it's going on my list for our next coast trip! Shout out to the owner who let my son use the bathroom due to his aversion to porta potties. I'm not as fancy as him though and used it and thought it might have been the cleanest one I've ever seen. Lovely spot on a summer afternoon. Possible to eat outside among the flowers. We were 4. One had the TBC (excellent grilled turkey, cheese and bacon) and their incredible artichoke dip; one had the Eastman which is the same except for with ham instead of turkey; one had a cold turkey sandwich and the other had a turkey sandwich. We also had chips and warm artichoke cheese dip (warning: this is crack! So delicious!). And do not get me started on the yummy mimosas... Also a fun gift shop which is dangerous (and expensive!) to enter after the aforementioned mimosas. Great stop! read more

What a great place to swing by if you're on the 101, or game for a short drive from Tillamook and Netarts. The gardens are a colorful oasis, and the prices for potted plants are incredibly competitive - with a way better selection than any garden/outdoor places closer to Tillamook. (Just plan on getting 3-4 pots of mums or daisies or exotic sunflowers to snaz up a front yard or porch - you'll get compliments like we did.) Also plan on going hungry. Their sandwiches are excellent and filling, and their soups are amazing. On this stop, we had the chicken, spinach, and artichoke soup ("It works on pizza, so we thought we'd try it as a soup!" we were told) - SO good - and the cabbage roll soup, warm and hearty. Debating between 3 and 4 stars. Very cute store for snack and picnic provisions. Incredibly nice and patient woman at the counter (we took a moment to decide). Lovely garden to explore and a solid plant nursery. As a store it is a five star stop - as long as you aren't bothered by the large amount of "thin blue line" flags displayed around (if you are someone who doesn't feel safe with that, now you know!) As a sandwich place, well... it just wasn't particularly tasty. The sandwiches are homey, with a lot of melted cheese and fatty artichoke spread and they just ends up a bit dull and flabby tasting. They clearly care a lot - and if you want a rich, crispy-fluffy white bread grilled cheese, you won't go wrong. But I like more "zip" in my food, and maybe a hint of vegetable? We have passed this place many times on our way to Tillamook. My ex doesnt like artichokes so he wasnt ever compelled to stop. But we LOVE them. So we stopped. They have produce, gifty stuff, snacky stuff, and cold beverages in a cooler. The worker bees were friendly and hippiesh. We were here for the namesakes. No, not bears, silly. Artichokes! They had baby ones, purple Italian ones, and the mid sized ones like we got. They were 2/$5. I liked that the leaves looked nice and tight and they werent too beaten up. Promising. We also purchased some honey sticks. They were at the register calling Princess' name. 25 cents. We went home and had two of the artichokes steamed last night for dinner with garlic butter. They were really fresh. Yum. Princess was super happy. Theyre her fav veggie. We will have the other two tonight with a vinaigrette and salad. Worth stopping. read more

Super cute store along the side of the country road heading to the coast. Fabulous deli sandwiches and beyond amazing customer service. So happy that I went back twice in one week tracking once from humboldt and once from Portland. They have everything you need in this cute little store. Fruits, veggies, wine, beer, fresh oysters ( literally pulled off the boat right in front of you) homemade pastries with a beautiful view of their kitchen and prep area. Get a pastry you will be very satisfied. I love this place you can even sit on their patio and enjoy your lunch. It's beyond cute here. read more
