Rubber stamp creation at PC Pour - will do this again!
Tracy M.

My grandparents built a cabin on "the spit" in the 1960's and I am blessed to have spent time almost every summer on the beach in PC as a child. When I saw a post about a craft class on Block Stamp Making at PC Pour, my BFF and I decided to sign up. The instructor was kind, patient and helped us through each step. She was so generous with her time, helping to make sure we would be happy with the results. What a wonderful experience, amazing in EVERY WAY! The owner/host mingled with guests, such a personal touch plus the live music made our day perfect. We will return over and over again! Even to take the same stamp making class!

Super friendly spot. All the outdoor seating is dog friendly, so you can pick a shady or sunny spot to sit. There's a nice selection of wine flights or plenty of options by the glass. You can also get a drink to go at the window! There's some light bites if you need a snack. The owners were also super kind to our dogs with water and some treats. We would definitely come back.

He's also happy enough if you want to just have a pint or play some Atari.....Atari?? Yep, Atari....... Oh, and they usually have Pliny the Elder on tap. Something about a connection to a 12th cousin, twice removed, who once washed the car windows of the creator of Pliny....or something. We tasted most of their wines (um, free tastings!!), consumed some pints, and bought some bottles. But more than that, we played an impromptu round of 80's music trivia with 6 or 8 new friends and laughed a lot in the coolest little wine/beer shop we've ever been in. Great job, Shawn!!!

Decided it was a beer day and vowed to buy some wine to take home for later. Simply stated, these guys rock. Have stopped in here a few times after adventures at the Pelican. Very cool, very down to earth. We showed up in our bike clothes( this is one relaxed tasting room) and were welcomed by Shawn, one of the owners. He had some cool music groovin', some old vinyls alongside the bar, and with my Pliny in hand, I wanted to spend the rest of the day here chatting up the locals. If I lived in town, you'd probably find me here more often than the Pelican. You can always find fresh Russian River beers on tap and for sale in bottles here. Ask me how I know? Why don't you ask them? :) The wine is really well priced, lots of Cabs and Syrahs, (try the Reversal Syrah!) and as they said on their menu, good for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night drinking.... We noticed Chenin, Shawn's wife wasn't around that day and found she was at the PSU Farmer's market where they attend all summer. Shawn also told me you can find them Thursday evenings at another Farmer's market in the Pearl in Portland. Sweet. As much as I love coming to Pacific City, it's also nice to know we can find their wine in Portland in the summertime since they don't sell it retail in stores. An hour later, (maybe two?) we left smiling with two bottles of wine, the Basket Case Syrah and a red table wine in hand, and two empty pint glasses of Pliny on the bar.

You can purchase in the gift shop and feed the animals outside. There's a donkey, goats, geese, and a few other others. I enjoy feeding them. The only problem this trip was I had my dog with me and he got a little crazy at the fence line. Part of the fence has chicken wire across the bottom but part of it doesn't and of course that's the part. My dog found it jumped inside. It was funny, not funny. Gift shop is great. I really miss going up and down the aisles and finding the pretzel sticks and samples of what's on the shelf. It was a good thing to look forward to and I enjoyed it. If you're in Tillamook, I would stop in. It's a great place for kids and picnic outside. There's also a separate candy shop on the premises. Great candy and some old school stuff that I had not seen in quite some time.

The property has a lot to offer, including a small petting farm, a gift shop, and an eatery all in one place. The paninis were especially delicious and definitely worth trying. As for the wine tasting, the selection was great and I still enjoyed the experience overall. However, the bartender wasn't very friendly or knowledgeable, which took away slightly from the experience. Even so, it was a fun stop with plenty to see and experience. I do recommend over other popular cheese factories in the area.

But the beet salad with ricotta and quinoa was delicious and well presented. We also shared the meat/cheese platter (3 choices for $18): mole salami was really good, Myril lavender goat cheese was excellent and my favorite because of the forward but still subtle lavender flavor, with honey drizzle. And the finocchiona which was tasty because of the fennel flavoring. It was presented with cranberry compote (blah) and a sherry spicy mustard (super yum). And some crostini and crackers. I personally would serve more crackers/crostini with it, we ran out quickly. I had the cocktail Lady on the Flamingo (Jameson, amaretto, orange bitter and ?) and my mother had the Classy Rita. We both really liked the flavors of our cocktail! The restaurant was not busy on a Weekday night. Service was impeccable. And plenty of parking. Cute views to the harbor, but unfortunately it was pretty foggy so we did not see the bridge or very far across the water. Overall, a solid choice when in Newport. Portions are on the lighter side when doing the shared tapas, can't comment on the bigger menu options.

Typically, we eat seafood while at the beach, but we decided to switch it up with wood-fired pizza and craft cocktails. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated. The wood-fire pizza oven is gorgeous, and the gold-accented octagon tile, antique furniture, and rustic wood floors really warm up the space. The menu is small but offers a great variety of both classic and unique pizza options. We also loved the appetizer and salad selections. My mouth was watering to try the focaccia bread with olive oil, but my husband reminded me I'd already promised him clam chowder elsewhere! Our server was friendly and prompt. Since this is a small space that seats about 20-25 people, a waitline is a common occurrence, yet we never felt rushed. We visited during Happy Hour (3-5 PM), where the Margherita pizzas are only $15--which was perfect for us. We also ordered a Double Oaked Old Fashioned and a gin gimlet. It's so much fun to watch the chefs spinning the dough and sliding pizzas into the oven. Our pizza was delicious and the drinks were tasty. It was a great experience, and we will definitely be back!
