Such a great place to eat in Pacific City, food was wonderful, server had a lovely personality, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love seeing a local restaurant with great small town feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend for a great breakfast spot if you're passing through or staying the weekend!

We were looking for a good breakfast spot in Pacific City and this place had pretty good reviews. All in all, it was definitely tasty but kind of a weird atmosphere. It is setup almost like someones dining room. It's a very homey atmosphere and the hot food (as well as the wide variety baked goods were all delicious). We split a raspberry Danish to start and then I got Spinach, Bacon, and Cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes and a biscuit. My girlfriend got scrambled eggs and Canadian bacon. Everything was really good. The omelet was perfectly fluffy and the biscuit came with great whipped butter. I would definitely recommend getting that as your "bread". Village COFFEE shoppe loses points for subpar coffee. It was very watered down and I ended up getting coffee from the gas station across the street. PRO TIP: THEY ONLY TAKE CASH. And there is no ATM. Be sure to stop somewhere to get cash first. No Venmo or PayPal either. All in all, this was a good breakfast and I liked that we were eating amongst locals as opposed to the yuppies on vacation. With that said, I wish we had tried somewhere else.

Great breakfast! So proud of the waitress! She handled a cranky customer so well! Small restaurant but big menu. They don't take credit or debit cards. Cash only.

Little ambiance, limited selection, had the bacon, cheese sandwich. It was not as good as a McDonald's sandwich. Would not go back.

The walls are alive with local art, colors dancing, Grateful Dead vibes everywhere you look. Even the menu's singing... dish names straight out of a setlist, like you're ordering breakfast at a show that never really ended. Now the Marionberry French toast... oh man. That one hits like a perfect riff at just the right moment. Sweet, rich, and laid back in all the right ways and like it knew exactly why you showed up. They've got fresh baked goods dialed in too and this is their thing, and you can taste it in every bite. Service? Kinda like a wandering solo... not always in sync, not always warm, but hey the music (aka the food) keeps the whole thing together. In the end, it's one of those places you stumble into and remember later with a smile. If the road ever brings us back through Pacific City, we'll swing by again and let it play on.

Our boys looked forward to it when they were 8, and they still look forward to it now that they're in their 20s. The scones are amazing--the savory ham & cheese is our favorite--and the breakfasts are a good way to start the day. There is sometimes a wait (esp on weekend mornings in the summer) but it's worth the wait. You can also get their scones and baked goods to go from their counter, so if you see a line, don't let it scare you from going in to see if there's a table! Usually very nice servers and everyone seems friendly and relaxed. Hard to be uptight with the laid back vibe of The Grateful Dead all around. I don't know why I never thought to review it before, but Grateful Bread is an integral part of our annual beach trip!

He proceeded to want to fight me outside the bar and kept interjecting when I was having a conversation with the bartender. The bartender and I were having a cordial conversation and learning where each other came from. She had told me she had came from Bend which was kind of cool because I had just came from bend earlier in my travels. The man said he had a grudge against me from the previous day where we had maybe a 2-minute conversation about pretty much nothing and he walked away. I thought that was the end of it. I came in today to get some food. Some sweets and a few drinks and head home like a normal human being. This man wanted to deal with his psychological issues pertaining to yesterday's incident when I had no recollection of said incident. I told him I knew nothing about what he was talking about the day before and that he seemed like a good-hearted person and we could have a good conversation. He proceeded to tell me that wasn't the case and that he wanted to have words and physically harm me in some way outside. He then was talked to by the bartenders and left without incident. I just don't understand how people can be the way they are when all I'm trying to do is have a nice summer vacation for myself and Liv in a way that keeps the peace. On a side note, the food is delicious. They have good prices on alcoholic drinks and their pastries are phenomenal. Just watch out if you see a bald guy that works there cuz I don't want other people to have to deal with that kind of confrontation. I hope everybody stays safe and that this person gets the type of help he needs to move through life. Cordially.

While there aren't a huge number of dining options in town, we never felt like we were settling. In fact, we looked forward to coming back each time. If you're a beer lover, you'll be in heaven. Their selection is extensive, with everything from crisp pilsners to rich stouts, making it easy to find something that suits your taste. The location is simply unbeatable. Nearly every table offers a view of the Pacific Ocean, and if you're lucky enough to grab a seat on the patio (my favorite spot), you're practically sitting on the beach. Watching the waves roll in while enjoying a meal is hard to top. Despite being incredibly busy, every server we had was friendly, attentive, and worked incredibly hard. The only minor downside was that the restaurant appeared to be a little understaffed. There were times when empty tables were visible, yet the wait was still 20-30 minutes. Honestly, though, we didn't mind. Any excuse to sit outside, people-watch, or simply stare out at the ocean is time well spent. The food was consistently excellent throughout our visits. We sampled the clam chowder, fish and chips, Backyard BBQ burger, cheeseburger, oyster shooters (both the Mignonette and Spicy Mary), and the cheese curds. My favorites were easily the clam chowder and the fish and chips--both were outstanding and exactly what you hope for when dining on the Oregon Coast. Even if beer isn't your thing, the cocktail menu is worth exploring. I ordered the Tsunami Warning, a refreshing blend of rum, pineapple and lime juices, ginger beer, and Pelican's Tsunami Stout. It's definitely a unique cocktail that won't be for everyone, but I'm glad I gave it a try. My biggest regret? Never saving room for dessert. Every time I saw one pass by our table, it looked incredible, but I was always too full to order one. That's just one more reason to come back. If you're visiting Pacific City, I highly recommend stopping by the original Pelican Brewing Company. Between the incredible oceanfront setting, excellent food and drinks, and welcoming service, it's a place that's easy to return to again and again.

We sat in the upper area just behind the bar, which was fairly empty at the time. Probably a smart move by the waitress, keep the kids a bit isolated haha! It was nice, there are big windows letting lots of light in, tall ceilings with dark wood beams, and everything feels worn and comfortable. They haven't leaned too heavily into any particular theme for this place. Yes, there is fishing gear and memorabilia (hence the name) and local historical pictures and such. But they didn't over do any of it in any obnoxious way. I enjoyed the fish/crab pots re-purposed as tall tables. Anywho, we ordered for the kids first because they were positively wilting away from hunger, at least that's how they made it seem. The kids menu was so cute. If your kid says "I don't know" to asking them what they want, then they got let's say - mac and cheese. If they said "I don't like that", then they got a corn dog. (I'm not certain if those were the exact items they got for those responses but that's the gist - it was very cute). I ordered the turkey BLT, except without the T (I'm not a fan) and a Tumalo Cider. I was nervous that the focaccia might be stale but it was soft and easy to eat. My picture doesn't seem to do it justice, it was a sizable sandwich. The turkey was carver's cut and bacon was thick. I enjoyed the pesto immensely, instead of the usual condiments. It was a very good sandwich. The cider was delicious as well, very little carbonation which I prefer. Our server was very nice and accommodating to a larger group with kids. She brought us a booster seat and coloring pages and crayons for the kids, which was great!
