What used to cost $20 is now costing me and my family $75 to enter for the day. I know a lot of people that come here that are refusing to come here because of the price alone. It seems like camp Tonkawa needs to be on the phone with their insurance because their insurance going up is forcing people to not come anymore. ( that's what they told me.) Side note- this place is not nearly as "crazy" as it used to be since the main tree over the water has fallen. The Volleyball Net has been down for a long time And families used to bring their small grills to cook for everybody out there for free. It was more welcoming, and I have watched it slowly turned into what it is now. Everything a gift from God and I wonder if the ownership realizes it's steady decline. It might be time to consider a change in ownership.

I felt totally safe there and that made the high price worth it. They also had more amenities than other RV parks including a super clean laundry room, swimming pool and showers. There were two or three additional buildings in excellent condition for group meetings, etc. They have a once a month group event. It was a barbecue pot-luck in July and an ice-cream social in August. My only real complaint was that the free internet was totally lame. They offered a paid version, but I didn't try it so I can't say about that. However, at the prices they charge, I thought the free version should have been better.

As you drive in they are very clean and well christmas decorated. Location comes with a small but fully packed convince store. They also have a playground for kids, bouncy area, racing cars, and a pool. They also have lots of other activities available depending on time of year as well as holidays. Don't miss out on finding the yellow pine for a free popsicle. They have breakfast available on Saturday. It was a pleasure to meet Jack, Judy, Bill and shuttle driver.( sorry didn't get name) They were all beyond lovely, and answered all questions we had. For sleeping they have Rv sites, cabins fully equipped with and with out restrooms, tipi and i am not sure if tent sites.

So guess who ends up picking up trash all the time? That's right, me! Sadly, I see more and more trash every time I go, and that is a disgrace. A clean park lies on the citizens like us. If you see trash, please pick it up. Bring a bag with you. Every lit but that we do, will. Ake a big difference collectively. Don't expect others to pick up trash, please help and pick it up!

As others have mentioned, it's a little pricey given the sites aren't full=service, but still a good value with the location and other amenities. Shower facilities were very clean. Only real negative is the that the majority of sites--especially lake front--are super not level, even though the website says they are all level. First time our automatic levelers wouldn't work. Had to use a total of 20 leveler blocks to get the back end of our 25' RV level. There are a few level spots, but you can't tell from the website. Quite misleading. We'll go back but only if we can get into one of the few level spots we found.

There are fully furnished cabins to rent, and they even have glamping tents with air conditioning! Cabins and glamping sites are kinda spendy, but with all the amenities available, the beautiful grounds and really nice and helpful staff, its a good value for sure!

This place deserves multiple positive reviews but here's the first…read more We were searching for a place near Caddo Mounds before moving on to Mammoth National Monument and found Southern Pines RV Campground on-line. This is a very nicely thought out new RV Park. The couple that owns it provides personal and friendly service. We would stay again when in this area. I called and left no message but was called a few minutes later which is nice and she requested I text the info (e.g. dates, size of RV) and to expect a callback in about half an hour for payment info and this happened as promised. They sent several e-mails two of which I could electronically sign or sign on arrival. This provides them some legal protection which is probably the way new parks will be administered. I was also asked if we had a pressure regulator and was offered a loaner if we needed it. When I mentioned they are near Caddo Mounds she reminded me it was about 30-40 minutes away which is another example of her being straight and helpful. She asked when we'd arrive or if we'd text so she could meet us but it would be fine to just drive to our assigned site. It is very easy to locate your site here. This place is well designed. There are thirty pads of which two are pull-through. The way the pull-thru sites are setup I think it would have been easier to use a back-in site (who am I to judge having pulled into the pull-thru twice however the guy in the other one said he had an issue too) since there is a lot of space in front of them. A small number of back-in provide the possibility of your rear coach tires going over a sloped end so if you get one of these back up slowly with an observer out back. Even the practical amenities are designed nicely here. The fence, Wi-Fi towers, space lawn lights and concrete road and concrete site pads are all nicely done. Every sight has a nice picnic table. There are communal fire pits one of which has a concrete picnic pad and they are working on the laundry room which looks like it will have two dryers and two washers. Kids ride bikes around the loop which is all inside the fence and has a 5MPH speed limit. They also have a couple of unique swings. Walking beyond the gate is following a state highway so the walkability for most is inside the fence. They have a dog park and people use it. There's a service station selling gas and diesel you can see from the park entrance. The park is on the same state highway but the background noise is minimal. They offer some discounts.

At any rate, the park was clean and quiet. Got a full hook up for our RV at a reasonable price. There's a gas station nearby and it's right off I-20. There seems to be someone in the office 24/7, so it's convenient if you're getting in late at night. Overall nothing bad to say about this place.
