So, given all the bad reviews here I was expecting the worse when I went to pick up a crate that was shipped from Eastern Canada to me. I have to say that I had nothing but an extremely positive experience at this facility when I arrived. The ladies in the office were very friendly and helpful. They were short staffed so was asked to wait about 10 minutes for a guy to get off of his break. In about 10 minutes out came a forklift with my crate. It wouldn't lift high enough to get to my truck bed rack so two other guys came out and lifted it the rest of the way up and onto the rack (it weighed 160lbs). Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I had to contact them in order to confirm that I could come get my crate. It had been off-loaded from the trailer for 5 days with no call so I had to take the initiative. The contents of my crate were in great shape when I unpacked it at home. The driver that comes from Tracy to Hayward to drop off trailers is reckless and should have his commercial license suspended. I was entering the 880 south on-ramp on A street going to work and this guy was BEHIND me. He did not slow down but sped up knowing I had no where to go and ran me off the road onto the shoulder. As I continued my way to work he cut off a big rig entering the 92 west on-ramp on Industrial Blvd. People like this should not be on the road! read more

I was expecting a hot item to be delivered by these guys.. Once the shipment left the factory, I called the YRC dispatch center twice on two different dates to make sure the package arrives as their promised estimated date. A day prior to est, delivery date, I get a confirmation call that my package will be delivered on time between 10 and 3 which was nice! The day came and at 10 am got a call that sorry, they wont make it out and will deliver the following day instead. WTF??? The following day, 3:20pm I called to see if they are still on schedule and the dispatch lady said word per word: "Oh crap... its not going to be delivered today either". i said this is not acceptable.. Their response: Sorry.. I don't know what to tell ya! I asked how soon I can get my package.. they said "you can come to our dock after one in the morning to pick it up!" Really? If I screw something up, I go above and beyond to make it good. Obviously YRC doesn't share the same business practice and doesn't understand the concept of urgency. read more

I am somewhat puzzled by the other two reviews. I ship with Yellow Fright or as its called now YRC all the time. In fact most if not all companies in the Silicon Valley use them as well. I know they are a Union company and their dockworkers are a skilled bunch and well trained in their craft. Damages? In most if not all cases is the result of the shipper and not the carrier YRC. I know when I ship automotive parts or computer screens it's my responsibility to properly pack the freight for shipment. Keep in mind this freight sometimes travels in a 24-50 feet trailer across the country by truck or rail. It's not the fault of the carrier if you pack glass without padding or bubble wrap. I know because of insurance reason a driver is not allowed to enter the premises. (workman compensation lawsuits) Yes your drive way or porch is where its gonna get unloaded. I think most people are naive that this is a trucking company that moves freight and not an envelope service like FedEx. But I digress. For me YRC has always come through. The drivers I have experienced have always been professional and courteous. I think the above reviews are a little naive as to the expectation of a trucking company. From what I've read, it sounds more like a shipper's issue and not a carrier's. Cheers. read more

My package was hold for over 3 weeks. They passed it to another smaller freight company. They got my phone number wrong, left a number for me to call. I tried to call them & left messages many times but still unreachable. What a waste of time. HomeDepot should not do business with this company. I will not place big orders from HomeDepot again. I would recommend avoiding this place like the plague. I have had the misfortune of having things delivered from here twice now, and both times, it was a DISASTER. Broken items in boxes that don't show any damage (so you sign for them, then find out the item is broken...so you're screwed), and their recent policy, to refuse to bring items into the house that they're delivering. They threatened to just leave our stuff on the sidewalk, until I was able to find a yard for them to push our packages into. What moving companies don't move things into the house?!? Totally infuriating. From now on, when I order packages online, I'm going to make sure ahead of time that the online companies are NOT contracting through these people, because they are so damn incompetent. read more

This company is also known as YRC Shipping. If you call the number that's what recorded message will say. This is the worst, most incompetent company ever! They no showed for two scheduled deliveries, as well as being unable to locate my shipment for a bit. To top it off they never bothered to tell me (in the 4+ times I called to enquire as to where my shipment was) that my package was in one crate, weighing 1400 lbs, that was not able to be lowered with the lift gate! This was a shipment being made to a residences! I do not have a loading dock at my house! The drive was actually very nice, and helpful, but the rest of the experience was too terrible to give more than 1 star. read more

This shipping company is horrible. They scheduled a delivery on June 2, 2016 from 1PM to 5PM. So I waited and waited. By 7PM, I called to inquire about the delivery and the customer service told me that my shipment was on a wrong truck so they took it back to the dock. I then scheduled for the next day delivery and was told that special delivery will be made from 10AM to 1PM. At 3PM, no delivery!!! I called customer service and was told that it still sat in the dock. I told the customer service how frustrated I was with the entire delivery experience and she told me that the only thing she can do is to deliver my shipment on Monday 6/6/2016 from 1PM to 5PM. I told her that I had to take 2 days off from work to wait for the delivery and only for her to tell me that "I am not the only customer that she has to deal with!!!" She calls customers to schedule delivery and shipment all day long. Well, isn't that her job? I have no clue what was going on at YRC facility. I set up appointment to receive my shipment and I expected the company to honor that (and this is a 4hr window). I received my shipment today. The entire experience was horrible. From now on, before I buy big product, I will check first with the company that I purchase my product and if they tell me they use YRC, I will avoid buying from them. read more

Had a kitchen nook table set shipped from Florida for pick up at Yellow Transportation in Hayward. The table top was damaged beyond repair by a fork lift. They gave me the option of taking home or rejecting just the one damaged piece but I opted to reject it and take the rest home. The shipper filed a claim. I found out I'd have to wait till April to get a replacement table top as the furniture originates in Germany. No problem as I was willing to take the damaged top until April. I asked YRC to borrow the damaged table top which was trash to them. Basically they said 'no' or take it and try to repair it and drop the claim. Even if repaired, it could never look like new. In short I found them to be indecisive and illusive, hard to contact a decision maker. It's been a problem and I certainly think their customer service is greatly lacking. Two stars because everyone was understanding accept their claims department. They want to avoid paying out any loses :-( Maybe had I ordered via Amazon the experience would have been different. read more

Absolute worst shipping company! Has taken nearly 2 weeks to get to the local terminal. At this point, they cannot unload trailer until Sunday, so next week at best for delivery. My customer's are not happy with us - and rightfully so! Our vendor selected YRC and my next call is to them requesting they NEVER use them again!!! read more

took 10 days to get an item from texas which is 2x longer than it should have taken. then when it arrived it was lost on their dock. as every other review shows this is a terrible shipping company. as a cherry on top of this stinking turd the person that answered the phone talks to you like you're out of line for thinking that the level of customer service they offer is sub par. I truly hope I never have the misfortune of getting stuck with this shipping company ever again. I honestly hope they go out of business soon to save future customers a headache like I have read more
