Horrible, unreliable, rude. They will make you late to rescheduled appointments, pick you up late from reschedule appointments and may not pick you up at all. No available drivers, no actually people even early or late it's impossible for rides as the cost of ten dollars worth of gas and sometimes bad attitude, I would suggest day drivers and night drivers especially when needed I don't get one until a hour it should be twenty minutes no less to get a person not two hours to three, that's harsh on people with jobs and sorts to make ends meat especially since we're a city community, not blaming them but needs to improve more maybe next review I'll give them a higher praise but a lot of people are having these issues. read more

I needed a ride to the airport to catch my 5:14am flight. I called YellowCabCo the day before and reserved a pick up at 3:40am at my hotel. The person on the phone was professional and promptly took care of my request. The next morning, the driver (Zulfo) arrived a few minutes early, confirmed that I was the passenger. Creepy experience. Flew into town, arrived at airport at 12am. I needed a ride .3 miles away, to a private hanger at the other side of the airport at 12am. Taxi was sitting there ready. The tab was started at $12 before taking off, $15 at the time of the end, but the driver demanded a $25 tip, i hit cancel on the keypad and did not tip for the over priced ride to begin with. Christmas Day 2:20 pm contacted their dispatcher to request a ride to the Veteran's Hospital. I was told one to one and a half hours wait time - three hours later they finally arrive. The driver had the cabs heater on full blast I finally had to ask him to please turn it down. He was in t shirt and I was bundled up in layers! He drove a very round about way that I know we backtracked quite a bit! I was NOT happy with this company, they charged me $24 for an 11 mile trip AND took 4 hours doing it! When I called to ask where they were and said I have a confirmation, the lady was like "yeah I don't see you, I don't even know why we have that website option, we never use it." This has to be the worst cab company in history. We booked a reservation a week before we needed a ride. Called to confirm the day before and we're assured our taxi would be at our hotel at 4:30 am for our trip to the airport. At 4:45 they had still not arrived. Called dispatch and was on hold for 15 minutes. When they finally answered we were told they were running late with no estimate of when our taxi would arrive. I stated I would reach out to Lyft and whoever arrived first would have my business. She then stated she would cancel my cab. When I protested she hung up on me. DO NOT USE this company if needing to be on time for your final destination. We were not the only ones stranded by yellow cab. There were two other couples at our hotel who also had yellow cab no shows. read more

I would give them less than 1 star if that were an option. My elderly mother waited for 2 hours for a ride. The cab driver drove by made a u turn and left her sitting there. I called the company, the first woman I talked to was very nice, she transferred me to the dispatcher Nichole. Nichole immediately had an attitude with me. She told me the driver had been waiting there for 20 minutes, which was not true as my mother saw him pull up and driver away. My suggestion is get an Uber or Lyft. read more

Called this cab company for a ride to work more then two hours before I needed to leave and told them I had to go to work. Time came for me to leave for work and no cab. I called them and they told me that it was going to be up to an hour and a half from the time I requested it. I couldn't get the man on the phone to understand how their procedure doesn't make sense and wound up so frustrated and screaming at the man...finally cancelling the ride. I took a ride on a Sunday --- late from the airport and when I got to my destination he informed me that the credit card machine was not working and that it was going to be CASH ONLY. I was not informed of this prior to getting into the cab. This was past 11pm - LATE! It was a good thing I had some cash left from my trip otherwise I'm not sure what I could have done. I had forgotten my car was in for an oil change and I was the last to leave the office, so no rides from co-workers :( Then I remembered my yellowcab app - hit the screen and I had Gary with Yellow Cab arrive in 4 minutes! Jumped into a warm car and was home in 7 minutes. Next day - did the same thing - good grief! Went online and scheduled a cab for 11am to take me for surgery at 11:30am about four blocks from my house. 11:05 I call to make sure they got my online reservation. Was told yes and a cab would be at my house in less than 20 minutes. 11:25 I call back, "no one has picked up this trip"...so I ended up having to walk to my surgery. No driver came and when I called dispatcher he advised me that no bookings are guaranteed and a driver would call when available- that this was their busy time. So no assurance of a ride at all! Pre ordered a taxi the day before for a flight. Informed them per their ask I'm going to the "airport". 4:40 am no show. Called dispatch 3 times staying on hold for over 5 min each call, no answer. i called them again at 5:40 after waking family to drive me in the middle of the night. Dispatches response was to yell at me and stated she was way way too busy at 4:40 to answer the phone and the cab company doesn't guarantee pick up times (never told that the day before) and then hung up on me. I don't complain lightly, people's jobs depend on reviews but worse service, wait non service I've had in my memory! this wasn't a late night bar pick up it was an airport pick up, they knew it and they totally don't care! On Sunday Feb 20 i went online to schedule a cab for Monday 21st at 5 am for a ride to the hospital for surgery and needed to arrive at 5:30 I figured that online scheduling would be easier and more reliable than waiting to call in the morning. So at 5:05 when it hadn't shown up yet I called the phone number and after a 3 to 4minute wait on the automated system i was connected with a very rude dispatcher who told me the cab was on the way. After waiting another 10 minutes I called back again and the same dispatcher was even more rude to me and stated that she deletes the onliine appointments for no apparent reason other than being a bitch. She stated she kept me on the list because it was a hospital designation. What kind of business practice is that? I did finally arrive at the hospital 1/2 hour late but did not miss the scheduled surgery. This happened in Des Moines Iowa. Will never use this cab company again. read more

Called a second time at 5:30pm, and they told me that I am a priority ticket. 5:50pm rolls by, still no cab. It's literally -5 degrees right now with a wind chill of -20, and my company is trying to lock up. Still no cab. No accountability. No compassion. Weak sauce. I called Uber at 5:50pm. They told me that they'd have a driver out here in 5 minutes. I am cancelling my cab with Yellow and NEVER ordering again. Everytime you call or go online to schedule a cab for a certain time they WILL NOT show on time...you will need to call at least twice and they will show 30-45 min laye if at all! People call because we have places to be....we should be able to depend on service to get us whete wete going on time, SHOULD but that to much to adk, you may as well call uber for shotty service. Love the new app they came out with. Easy to book a cab and you can see what cab/cab driver is picking you up also how far away they are and how long it will be before they get here. It's fast and easy to edit location pick up and drop off. The drivers I've had so far are very respectful and take the most direct route possible. read more

Downloaded the app and reserved a pick up for a next day early morning pick up to the airport. No cab arrived more than 30 minutes after the reserved time and several calls to the dispatcher with differing explanations with the time ticking away. Finally called the dispatcher 45 minutes after the agreed time and was told there were only a couple of cabs working and would not be picked up for awhile. I cancelled the call, and drove to the airport, parked in long term parking and was the last person to board. Will never use Yellow cab in DSM again. Totally unreliable. read more

Not reliable!! My cab never showed up and I had to scramble for an alternative to get to the airport. The dispatcher was rude and couldn't tell me anything about when to expect the late cab. Here are the details: I called Capitol Cab in Des Moines, but they seem to work with Yellow Cab, since they answered the phone "Yellow Cab." So I'm posting this review for Yellow Cab as well, since I believe you will end up with the same service problems I experienced. I called ahead and reserved a cab to pick me up at 5 AM the next day to take me to the airport. I was told it was no problem, and the company called back a few hours later to confirm the reservation. I went to sleep feeling confident I would have a ride. I was outside and waiting at 4:50, but by 5:05 there was no cab and no communication from the company. I called to ask if the cab was running late, did they know where it was, and when it would arrive. The dispatcher curtly told me that I was "on the board" and she didn't know when a cab would arrive. I asked what "on the board" meant--hadn't they sent a specific cab to me for this time? The rude dispatcher just replied "You're on the board. Thank you." And she essentially cut me off. I explained that I could only afford to wait 15 more minutes--any more and I would miss my plane. The dispatcher remained rude and unhelpful--she could not tell me whether I could expect to have the cab in time or not. Well, still no cab by 5:25, so I called again. I explained that I had to cancel the cab, because I had no more time to wait. I got my car and raced to the airport, leaving it to rack up parking charges while I am away. You should not trust this company for three reasons: 1) they seem incapable of providing a cab on time (or even within 25 minutes of the confirmed time 2) the dispatchers don't know where their fleet is and cannot provide any real service to customers 3) the dispatcher was rude about my inquiries--when they should be apologizing for not having the cab they confirmed for me! read more

Im 19 and I needed a ride home from a house party. I gave the lady the address of where I was and she told me there was a balance of $30 on the address I was calling from and for me to get a ride I would have to pay the full outstanding balance of $30. I live in Johnston and I was somehow on the south side, my fair would have been about $40.00 by itself. I have no idea who owed the cab company so drunk and generous me told her that I would pay 1/3 of the outstanding bill but Im not paying the full $30, I was desperate for a ride.
