Ride ended up being $10 more than what an Uber would've cost. Whatever, I wanted to be supportive of taxi companies. When I pulled out my card, he asked if I had cash. I got irritated and told him that from the beginning, I SAID I was paying with a credit card. He asked me for a tip on an $18.40 fare. I tipped him $1.60 to make it an even $20 cause he wasn't overly friendly nor showed excellent customer service. He complained, saying that it costs him $3 every time he has to run a credit card (I knew that was BS). I started arguing with him cause he couldn't even open my door for me and he had the audacity to ask for a tip?! I told him I could've taken an Uber and not deal with this BS. He straight up said to me, "Then take an Uber next time." Not a great first impression of Des Moines. I should've known. I'm sorry, Uber. I'll never betray you again *strokes it gently*

After racking up $37 the driver told me he wouldn't take a credit card. I was so lucky I had cash as I normally don't and the taxi starter at the airport said all companies take cards so I figured I was safe. The cab number was 23. I was so scared after this ride. I'll never take one again! This is why I will always prefer Uber or Lyft. Safe drivers and a legitimate company.

Neither the dispatcher nor my cab driver had warm and fuzzy personalities, but I survived. It was a $2 base charge. Traveling from 4th and Walnut to DMU cost about $7.

He also acted like he was "helping us out," yet my maintenance crew was the one helping HIM load appliances. He then took the appliances to scrap for money and was supposed to come back afterward, but never showed back up. We were told he would arrive at 9:00 AM, and he didn't show up until around 3:30 PM with no professionalism or communication. Overall, this felt like a company just trying to make a quick buck while providing terrible service and wasting everyone's time.
