I wanted to see my short-listed fans up-close and in-person and ask questions and get answers from knowledgeable people, rather than deal with a website chat box. Adam helped me, and he was TERRIFIC. Warm, friendly, so personable, knowledgeable, patient and very easy to talk with and work with. The fan I wanted was on back-order -- not just at Black Whale but pretty much everywhere -- and wouldn't ship for at least a couple of months. The fan is pricey (I view it as an investment) and instead of having to pay in full upfront for a fan that I would not receive for months, Adam was so kind as to allow me to pay 50% upfront, with the balance to be paid when the fan arrived. I really appreciated that. Adam was not there on the day, months later, when I went in to pick up the fan, but the woman who helped me (I think her name was Sandy) was also super-nice and friendly and loaded the boxes into my car for me. He was here for about 15-20 minutes and told me I needed to upgraded my equipment and charged me $200. He said there was something unplugged, which there wasn't. After he left the Internet was still not working properly. I found Simply Wired on Yelp, and boy am I happy camper. He came out for a free consultation, sent me a quote within a few days and a list of equipment I needed to purchase (my old equipment was a few years old and I just wanted to start new anyways). After receiving all the items, Brian came out and set it all up. My 'wire closet' or whatever it's called was so messy and full of old wiring and equipment that we couldn't even close the door. Not only can we close it now, but it looks amazing. He also used some of my old equipment to help boost the signal in certain areas. Ultimately, the GFCI issue was traced to two GFCIs on the same circuit (from a prior homeowner), but this was only determined after the visit. The total bill exceeded $400 for less than an hour of work and a single GFCI/outlet that likely cost less than $25. Based on the overall experience--damage during service, unresolved issues, and pricing--I would not recommend. Update: The owner responded stating multiple hours were spent, that all issues were resolved, and that additional work was performed at no charge.
