If I could give Dr. Tran a zero rating I would. The worst and most painful pelvic exam I ever had. She treated me like a piece of meat. Rushed at that because she was late in seeing me for 2 hours. None of her staff informed me that she was going to be late. Maybe the reason why she was in a rush and the un-God ful painful treatment. She prescribed the wrong medication after consulting with another physician. She also ordered labs [full ovary and pelvic] ultra sound that was completely unnecessary. I am way past child bearing years, yet she justified the exam as though I was having a child. I suspect to get more revenue in the long run with unnecessary follow up exams that were also unwarranted. STAY AWAY if you are smart. Read her other reviews. read more

I wanna start by saying Dr. Tran is easily the best doctor I've ever encountered in my life. I have endometriosis that was not taken seriously by all of my previous providers. The second I walked into her office I felt welcomed and listened to. I have been seeing her for around four years now, and in those four years she has performed three surgeries, all of which went smooth. Any bad review is absolutely baffling to me because she is probably the sweetest person I've ever met. She has been nothing but sweet to me and my family anytime I have seen her. She genuinely cares about her patience and also remembers things about you. I sent my friend to her and my friend just mentioned my first name and no other details and she remembered exactly who I was and wouldn't stop raving about me either. I want to warn everyone to not let Dr. Yen H Tran preform a circumcision! She did not do my sons procedure properly and he had to undergo another surgery. It caused our family so much grief. One star is being generous with the care I had experienced with Dr. Yen Tran. She was one of the doctors on call when I delivered my son. Her bed side manor is not acceptable. She rushed into my room and tried to scare me into having a c section. Lucky my amazing nurse advocated for me and I delivered my son naturally. However, I think that refusing a c section upset Dr. Yen Trans ego and I never saw her again until I was in recovery when she botched my son's circumcision. Postpartum I read my birth summary written by Dr. Yen Tran and she wrote "bad at pushing". So unprofessional I was truly upset while reading this. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. As I learned last year that I was pregnant with my 1st child, I started looking for an OB. I ended up choosing Dr. Tran by reading reviews and what not. It was WORST mistake, the initial appointment felt rushed, she sent me to get labs done which I did and my lab worked showed that I was diabetic and had low progesterone levels, granted I didn't even get the courtesy of receiving a phone call, she told me this through message on my chart. It was honestly the worst experience with her. Thankfully I was able to find a different OB by word of mouth and SO THANKFUL I did, it was honestly a day/night experience. Just a disclaimer, I actually ended up finding an OB that was closer to my house in LA therefore did not end up going with Dr. Tran for my delivery , so I can't give a 5 star since I didn't have her deliver my baby. HOWEVER, when I first got pregnant I went to Dr.Tran at Memorial Care Hospital in Fountain Valley - AWESOME staff by the way- and she was always so professional, prompt and super bubbly. When she did my first ultrasound, she and the Mr. were excited even though all I saw was a peanut/shrimp looking embryo hahaha. But her excitement the second appointment totally got me excited as well! Dr. Tran has a very infectious personality and I have no doubt that had I gone with her for my delivery , I would have been in excellent hands! She explains things when questions are asked and appointments never felt rushed. For the staff, they were always very friendly and best of all prompt. So was Dr.Tran, they usually would be able to see me right at my appointment time or sometimes even earlier, I never had to wait more than 5 minutes to see the Dr.Tran or any other doctors or midwives. Oh yeah! At MemorialCare, they have midwives for those of you who are interested. I didn't even know hospitals have midwives or that they were still a thing. Since they are located inside the hospital the lab is also attached and whenever I was done with an appointment and had to get blood work done, my results would typically be posted within 24 hours. I had just moved here from Silicon Valley and was nervous about finding an Obgyn who was just as famous and competent as the one I used in NorCal. I scanned several profiles, reading background information, education etc and Dr. Tran seemed the best. I chose her and it was a great decision. She helped me to deliver a healthy baby boy, which means a lot to me given my age and struggle with PCOS. Her work is amazing! The initial visit with Dr. Tran went well. She and her staff are very nice and courteous. However, the follow-up care was problematic. I've been on a recurring prescription for many years. I typically get my prescription refill updated annually when I go to my annual checkup. My prescription ran out before my annual visit is due so my pharmacy requested a refill. Took over a week to get a response from the doctor's office and I was told I needed to come in for a "prescription review office visit". Sounds like just an attempt to make more money. My previous ob-gyns never required this as again, I come in annually and they don't try to make more money off of me by making me come in more often. If I was on a high risk medication or have side effects, then I would get the need for a follow up but to require it just for a standard refill request is ridiculous. read more

This review is for a virtual appointment I had with Dr. Tran preceding a colposcopy and cervical biopsy that will be taking place in the near future. Dr. Tran is a literal ANGEL. Her warmth and understanding was extremely apparent, even through a computer screen. She was meeting me to discuss options for my upcoming colposcopy, which I have had every year for the past 5 years. Every year, the procedure gets more and more painful and quite frankly, more and more traumatizing. Dr. Tran listened to my concerns without any judgement and was entirely sympathetic. She offered me solutions to try and mitigate the pain and my anxiety, and I was so relieved I cried. Having to get screened for cervical cancer every year is already daunting, but the physical and emotional pain that comes along with it is near debilitating. My wife choose to go with Dr. Tran after reading all the great reviews on yelp. Unfortunately, our experience with her and her staff was not a positive one. Dr. Tran is a sweet person but the level of care you get from her or the staff is disappointing. If you have a simple smooth pregnancy then having her as your doctor would work. But pregnancies can get complicated and if you would like to take precaution, please save yourself the hassle and pain and go with someone else. First of all, if you have any questions, be prepared to send an email and wait a while for a response. You cannot call her office directly because they don't have a dedicated secretary/staff to answer phone calls. Secondly, the response almost always comes from a nurse and not the doctor. The answers are normally vague and unclear requiring alot of back and forth via email for further clarification (which could take days). Lastly, if you are faced with an emergency situation, it will be almost impossible to get a hold of Dr. Tran. We were faced with an emergency and had to go to the nearest ER. It took Dr. Tran almost 5 hours to accept the ER doctor's phone call and this was during regular office hours. Supposedly, she was busy with other patients. But any other caring doctor would have prioritized an emergency situation over a non-emergent one. On a side note, Dr. Tran will only deliver your child if she happens to be on-call. By default, a midwife will deliver your baby unless you demand for whichever doctor that is on call. As a patient, it didn't feel like Dr. Tran and her office staff had our best interest in mind. Their overall demeanour was distant and non-emphatic. Even after our complications, she never asked us to come in for a follow-up visit. I now realize that many of her positive reviews were for her old practice. Believe me when I say that things will be very different at this current one. I wish someone could have forwarned us. Hopefully, this review will spare your family from a lot of unnessecary stress and turmoil. read more

Dr. Tran was my OB for my second daughter...and it was a very comforting experience with her. I felt she understood me really well as a patient and an expecting mother. My delivery was extremely fast and with a couple bumps in the road with anesthesia reactions (the meds and I don't mix well together haha) and Dr. Tran made sure I was calm and the baby was doing well during birthing. I am so thankful she delivered my little one. She was extremely caring and checked up on me in a timely manner after appointments and delivery. I had her while she was with St. Joseph's and if I were to get pregnant again I would make the drive to Fountain Valley to have her as my OB again. You don't feel as though you need to say everything you need to say as quickly as possible, because she doesn't give the impression that she is seriously jammed for time... She listens, makes eye contact, takes notes, has a great sense of humor... I am not kidding when I say that she makes you feel as though you are her only patient while she's sitting there with you. AND - the office staff is pleasant, which is SO much more than I can say for my GPs office.... I would highly recommend her...! All my coworkers go to Dr. Yen Tran for their Gyno problems. My instinct told me That she is the right doctor for me as well based on Her impressive resume & a warm face. I accidentally got pregnant 2 month before my wedding day and was freaking out. From the first moment, I met her I know I will be ok. She personally saw me with each visit managing my gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, headache, back pain and preeclampsia. It was a high risk pregnancy but she made it easy. Hi I just got my surgery done by dr. Yen Tran. She's a very good doctor. She just remove five big fibroids out of my uterus. The biggest one is 8cm. 5 stars across the board! Dr.Yen Tran took her time asking all my questions, creating a plan, and ordered my labs/ultrasound all done on the Same day. Also by the end of the day calling me about my results, and sending me information to be knowledgeable about my condition... she also looked up who would be able to help me with my rare condition. She did not rush me one bit and made sure I was comfortable. Her whole team was just point and efficent. Her office is beautiful and clean as well which is always important. They even do a 10 min sweep, which means if a patient is waiting more than 10 mins they inform them of how much longer, so your not sitting their waiting in the lobby. She gives a friendly vibe once walking into the room, with a warm smile. Extremely knowledgeable, and warm hearted. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a caring OB or gynecologist. Dr. Tran is the best. I had to switch doctors because the clinic I was going to was just the worst. I started seeing her at about 31 weeks. Her office took me right in and gave me an appointment as soon as they could. At maybe my second appointment I got this condition called cholestasis. I was very happy that she knew of how harmful the condition could be and that she knew all the steps to take. Many people and doctors don't know what that is. I had to deliver at 38 weeks or before for my baby to be born safely. My induction day came and she wanted to be the one to deliver me she told the nurses to let her know as soon I was ready to deliver. The OB on call was getting ready to deliver me but she made it right on time when I was ready to push. She is very friendly and kind and made me feel safe. If I decide to get pregnant again she will definitely be the OB I will be going to. read more

I called, base on the reviews for an appointment, the front desk girl named Jessica was very sweet, took her time getting my insurance information but the systems would not let her approved that I am eligible though it was clear that I am in the network (PPO). So I have to call my insurance to fax the office before I even get any appointment. Sadly I will not book an appointment with the doctor because she is so busy, her earliest appointment for the new patient would be a month from now. Also, when called, the system put me on hold for 10 minutes and still no answer, it could get frustrated at time. I give 5 stars for Jessica, the front desk/medical assistant girl. read more
