Not one to do too many reviews, but being I spent a lot of time on yelp looking at reviews for an OBGYN for my pregnancy I feel compelled to write one on behalf of Dr. Broad and her staff. This was my third pregnancy and wanted a change in my experience this baby. Dr. Broad was amazing - great bedside manner, truly listens to you and what you want, you don't just feel like a number when you walk in. HUGE note is she basically does everything in her power to be at your delivery! She kept me at peace even with my third surprisingly coming on his own early. They have very friendly staff, easy to schedule apts, and Dr Broad and her PA are both really amazing. Great experience! Sitting here with my almost two year old and two month old healthy babies thanks to Dr. Broad and nurse Donna Fritz. I wanted to not worry and be able to trust I was in good hands and that's what I found here with this team. I had a large fibroid with my first which they found and was able to remove during my c-section. They tried many ways to have naturally but as they were watching her heart rate decided that was the best route. I had another c-section with my second since they were so close. My scarring is minimal and only about two or three days of pain, no back pain which I have sometimes heard about with others I just have so many good things to say. Dr Broad is a rockstar in my eyes! Dr Broad came highly recommended by my nursing friends at Hoag Hospital and I cannot be more grateful for it. From the very beginning, both Dr. Broad and Donna (midwife) deeply respected my values and preferences in my birth plan, advocating for me to have a TOLAC, and incorporated natural methods alongside medical interventions to support me in having a safe pregnancy and delivery. They were both attentive, knowledgeable, and always made sure I felt heard and supported. These wonderful traits are present in all of their staff from the receptionists in the front to the medical assistants and the ultrasound technicians. The entire team created an environment where I felt safe and heard every time I went into their office. When it came time for my delivery, I felt completely at ease knowing I was in such capable hands. My labor did present with some unexpected complications, however, Dr. Broad handled everything with such skill and composure. I was amazed at her ability to perform under pressure. I never once felt that she did not have control of the situation. I knew she would take care of both myself and the baby. My son safely came into this world via a successful VBAC! About 3 years overdue for this review :) Where should I start? Dr. Broad and her staff are absolutely the best! Not only are they highly professional, but they also make you feel like family--something rare to find these days in healthcare. I was referred to Dr. Broad by a coworker who is very selective when it comes to medical care, so I knew right away I was being guided to someone special. From my very first visit, I could see why. Dr. Broad is an empathic, caring physician with a natural compassion that truly sets her apart. During my pregnancy, I struggled with hyperemesis. Dr. Broad suggested the best treatment options and even gave me her own electrolyte packet to try, just to see if it might help ease my symptoms. I can not recommend Dr. Broad enough! For years, I was told that I would never conceive naturally and would have to do fertility treatment. Dr Broad was the first doctor who listened to me and gave me a natural approach to reverse PCOS and have kids naturally. She is extremely knowledgeable, took her time with me at every appointment, is very kind, and truly changed my life! I listened to everything she said, and the first week of trying we got pregnant! I'll start with saying I love Dr. Jennifer Broad herself but her billing team and front office need more training and work. My son is now a year, but her billing department is still trying to charge me $1,500 for my pre-natal visits from January 2024 because her staff claims my insurance company, which is Aetna and in-network, is denying my coverage. So I spoke with Aetna and was informed that Dr Broad's office is missing the medical diagnosis codes needed to process my claim, Aetna spoke with Dr broads office via phone to confirm what is needed last month in August 2025. A month later, I get the same bill requesting my payment of $1,500. Beware of the false claims from the billing department here. They are incompetent and untrustworthy. read more

I truly cannot believe the turn this practice has taken within 5 years. To start, the new office is terrible. The front desk team is never in line with the back team, always confused when they're asked questions, and put you on long hold times. This is a very sad update to my initial rave review. I suffered a missed miscarriage, which is traumatizing enough, but the lack of care I experienced during the whole process is disturbing. I was told during what was supposed to be my 9-week ultrasound that there was no growth beyond 6 weeks and no heartbeat. I had to wait ONE WHOLE HOUR for someone to talk to me after my ultrasound!! They then diagnosed me saying I have a septate uterus. Mind you, this whole time, I was seen by Donna Fritz, the midwife and never Dr. Broad. I had no idea what this anomaly is, and she offered no real insight. Even my miscarriage process was horrible, I wasn't guided with which option is best (D&C, medication, etc). Everything felt disconnected and the lack of care was appalling. Finally, after filing a complain and getting my records to go somewhere else, I was told to do an MRI so they can see the severity. Turns out -- I don't have any issues with my uterus! And, not ONCE did I get a phone call about my results, I had to call every hour to try and get a hold of someone to call me back. Dr abroad finally calls me a week later (after she mentioned that she never calls her patients, the nurse calls them, which is even worse and more disrespect to my point) and said it wasn't a misdiagnosis! That's literally what a misdiagnosis is, they told me I have a septate uterus and turns out I don't have one. I felt like I was going in a circle with her, she was very quick to tell me I'm wrong in her own way. I almost wish she didn't call me. I CANNOT emphasize enough to stay away from this practice. I genuinely would never want someone to go through what I went through! I found an OB who takes the time to listen and go in depth about my body. The lack of knowledge has me questioning if they misread my ultrasound, but for my sanity, I won't go there. STAY FAR AWAY and find a doctor who cares and respect your time and body! Update after two years of my initial review. Dr. Broad has moved from her original location in Newport to a nearby building in Costa Mesa, the entire staff is new and what a difference it makes! From easy booking, friendly and helpful faces to an amazing midwife, Donna. The previous location and practice seemed to encounter many booking/scheduling challenges while now everything is smooth. Broad medical group has provided care and guidance to both of my pregnancies, I gave this practice a chance bc I've hear great things about the doctor, and is all true. She's a fair and excellent professional that provides a human touch and care to her patients. Donna, is also a well experienced midwife, sweet and caring. It is very hard to find a good OBGYN team, don't hesitate to make an appointment, you'll be in good hands! read more

I rarely write reviews, but I don't want anyone else to go through what I experienced. This review is not for Dr. Broad personally, as I never met her, but for the office staff, NP, and ultrasound tech. During my first pregnancy, I was abruptly told by the ultrasound tech that there was no heartbeat and that I was miscarrying, in a very rushed and insensitive manner. What followed was weeks of poor communication, delayed lab results, unanswered calls and portal messages, and lack of guidance during an extremely emotional time. After being told my only option was medication because a D&C would take weeks, the medication failed, and no one returned my calls when I asked what to do next. I sought a second opinion, which confirmed retained tissue and recommended a D&C immediately--something that should have been done much earlier. Despite repeated attempts to reach the office, I received no response. I ultimately ended up in the ER with symptoms of infection and had to find another doctor to perform a D&C. I didn't hear back from Dr. Broad's office until after the procedure, nearly three weeks later. The lack of communication and urgency was unacceptable, especially given the emotional and physical risks involved. As a nurse, I've seen a lot in healthcare, and this experience left me feeling helpless and unheard. I would not recommend this practice. read more

Be ready to wait an hour to be seen just for an annual exam. They completely over schedule.. My appointment was at 10 am and I waited 40 minutes just to get into the exam room. After changing into the gown I waited another 15 minutes. The exam was only 10 minutes maybe. Nurse practitioner who did my exam was fine. But the worst part of the visit was the 7 foot medical weight loss banner. It was in the waiting room, and by the place you check out. First of all, it's so inappropriate to have this in an OBGYN office. Targeting vulnerable women (pregnant or not) with marketing for "skinny shots" is triggering and unacceptable. It is a complete money grab and just wanting to make a profit off of women who may be insecure about their weight. Diet culture is alive and well people, especially in a doctors office that is supposed to be a safe space! Imagine recovering/having an eating disorder and walking in to get an exam and being bombarded with this. The only time I've met Dr. Broad, she reccomended me to see a functional medicine doctor for my PCOS. And now they're promoting weight loss shots. How does that make sense? It seems like the weight loss shot is being pushed so hard :( read more

This review is extremely long over due! Dr. Broad delivered my daughter 4 years ago and I still think about her time to time. (Hoping she will still be in practice when I get pregnant again.) This was my first pregnancy and I couldn't have picked a better doctor. She was amazing, I've never felt rushed with my visits. She listened and was very understanding. I did have a traumatic birth lol but that is because I had an emergency c section that I did not expect to have. But that day Dr. Broad was OFF! I'm so disappointed with my recent experiences at Dr. Broad's clinic. While I had a positive experience with her former PA, Tabitha, during my daughter's birth four years ago, my recent care has been, unfortunately, unsatisfactory. I should've read the negative review below which is I agree with. My current pregnancy has been complicated by a reproductive issue. During my appointments with midwife Donna Fritz, I found her communication style to be both lacking in compassion and transparency. I only learned the details of my health assessment through the Healow app, rather than through direct and open communication from her. This lack of direct explanation left me feeling anxious and uninformed. Furthermore, following an ER visit, I sought a checkup at her clinic. Donna Fritz's dismissive attitude and lack of empathy were particularly disheartening. Despite ongoing bleeding, she assured me I would be fine within a week and able to return to work. The manner in which she provided my doctor's note felt abrupt and impersonal, leaving me feeling deeply distressed. My experience suggests a significant deficiency in the clinic's approach to patients facing unexpected reproductive complications. It felt as though the focus was on minimizing the situation rather than providing the necessary support and care. I believe this lack of sensitivity and comprehensive communication is a significant concern. I don't recommend this clinic if it works for you then good luck but if you know you'll have a pregnancy complication better switch to a different OB. read more

I have never encountered a Doctor and Nurse Midwife as caring as Dr Broad and Nurse Donna. They are patient, never rush you, and give you their undivided attention when in the room with you. After a traumatic birth experience with my first child, I was looking for a doctor who would understand my fears and Dr. Broad gave me exactly what I was looking for. Once in a while, there is going to be longer wait times at an office with a single OBGYN who gets pulled out to deliver babies. Babies come when they want and sometimes that puts Dr. Broad behind with her office patients. That is completely normal and justified and doesn't happen at every appointment. Just remember that you'll want that same care from Dr. Broad when it's you laying on the delivery bed! She's Super Woman! Nurse Donna is also incredible and I always looked forward to my appointments with her as well. She's extremely knowledgeable, never rushes you out, and her and Dr. Broad both give you alternative and natural options before throwing 1000 medications at you like every other doctor does. Dr. Broad made my c section as calming and enjoyable as possible. She told me "We're having a birthday party, let's play some music!" Long overdue review that still haunts me as a horrible experience. The office staff is inefficient, the manager is a gate keeper, who will try to intimidate the patient if there are any issues she doesn't agree with. So glad she wasn't my OBGYN. Waited 1.5 hours in the treatment room with no one coming in and only to have an office staff come in after an hour and a half to say sorry she can't see you. I adore Dr. Broad!! We had the best experience working with her and her office. This was our second pregnancy and I am so glad we made the switch to work with her. From the moment I met her I felt a sense of peace and comfort. She is so incredibly attentive and takes the time to make sure you're comfortable every step throughout the pregnancy. She made the experience soooooo amazing. My husband and I honestly talk about how grateful we are for her all the time. When it came time to deliver, I was induced so that I could time it out with our family being in town to help, which was so so nice. That day Dr. Broad had another delivery and actually came by our room to say hi and make sure we were feeling good and taken care of. Later that evening we saw her again when it was time to push and she made the entire experience so enjoyable and just put us at ease. I genuinely felt SO cared for throughout the entire process. Dr Broad is absolutely phenomenal. She is incredibly compassionate, kind, and caring towards her patients and you can really tell that it is genuine when you are with her. She takes the time to get to know you. She has an outstanding reputation in the medical field and after meeting her at my appointments I could see why. My labor/delivery involved some challenging aspects and she handled everything with skill and ease - she is very talented and I can see why she has such an outstanding reputation. Staff is nice overall. I usually had Donna who is a midwife, and she was helpful. BUT the wait times are insane in this office. There were 3 appointments I had where I waited an hour and a half to be seen. The most recent occurence that really drove me to find other care is that I was told I potentially have PCOS, but a blood test would need to confirm whether or not that is true. Someone who worked in the labs called me and told me "my hormones are good" but did not tell me anything about PCOS. When I explained to her that the reason I did the blood test was to see if I had PCOS she said someone would get back to me. 6 weeks went by and no one contacted me. I had to reach back out myself. This is one example of how I never felt they were super organized. That plus the wait times really made me want to find a different doctors office before trying to get pregnant. read more

This is an overdue review for our experience with Dr. Broad. My husband and I had tried to conceive for over 2 years and in early 2020 we found out we were pregnant! If I remember correctly, Dr. Broad saw us for all of our prenatal visits except for maybe 1 visit. Everything about my 1st pregnancy was smooth & uneventful until I was about 35 weeks and they noticed my amniotic fluid was low. After doing all the appropriate testing/measurements, I had to be admitted to Antepartum so they could give me IV fluids overnight. I was admitted to the hospital twice having to stay overnight multiple times and during this very anxious time (at the height of covid, when you weren't allowed visitors), I was surprised and so thankful that Dr. Broad would come visit me at the hospital before heading into her practice. I honestly have never heard of any other doctor doing that. She made me feel so taken care of. In fact, every time they were checking my fluids at the hospital, they always looped in Dr. Broad and she always communicated back to the hospital the plan of care for me. The 3rd time I was admitted, I was 36 weeks+ pregnant and Dr. Broad and the head Doctor for the OB floor agreed it was safest for the baby to have me stay for IV fluids until I was 37 weeks and then induce me. Dr. Broad even visited me in person at the hospital to inform me why they made this decision and made sure I was OK and addressed any concerns I had. To be honest, I fully trusted her and was confident in whatever she advised. Once I was induced the hospital did everything they could to move along the delivery. After there hadn't been much progress, they "broke my water" and thought that would help but it didn't and the low fluid then resulted in having an Amnioinfusion. Needless to say, I had a very eventful induction process and it lasted about 47 hours with 4 shift changes resulting in having 5 different nurses. I mention this because every nurse I had always had an unsolicited positive comment about Dr. Broad. "She's the best", "She's really great", and my favorite one "She's awesome, she delivers all of her babies even if she isn't on-call." And sure enough, at the 47th hour, Dr. Broad came in personally to check how far I was dilating and said I would be ready to start pushing soon. That morning, was actually her sister's birthday and she had told me how her sister and family were all at her house celebrating but that she would be back to deliver my baby. And she was. I could tell she had really read and remembered our birth plan that my husband and I put together and did everything she could to adhere to our requests. She kept asking the nurse to bring her extra oils because she knew I did not want to tear too much and I barely did thanks to her caring enough to keep requesting more oils. When it came time to cut the cord, we requested delayed cord cutting but because my daughter's cord was around her neck, she looked both my husband and I in the eye and informed us she knew we wanted to delay the cord cutting but it was imperative she cut it due to the safety of the baby. These are the type of experiences we remembered about our delivery because she clearly knew and acknowledged our request but let us know what was safest for our baby. Our daughter was born without any complications and we're lucky to have a healthy, smart, spunky little girl. Fast forward to 2 years later, we found out we were lucky enough to conceive yet again. Without a doubt in our mind, we knew the only doctor we would want to deliver our baby and manage my care had to be Dr. Broad. When I was about 30 weeks pregnant, I had some unexpected upper abdominal pain. They asked me to come in and they would squeeze me in. Within 20 minutes of arriving at the office, I was able to see Donna the NP (she's also great). They sent an order for me to have a STAT full abdominal ultrasound so I could be seen right away. Unfortunately, because this type of ultrasound would require you to be fasting, I wasn't able to have the ultrasound done until the next morning which was a Friday. The ultrasound results came back later that afternoon and we called Dr. Broad's office who ensured us that Dr. Broad would call us after her patients that day. And sure enough, at 6:40pm on a Friday night, Dr. Broad call us directly. This was especially comforting as we were going into the wknd and didn't know what to do. Thankfully, everything was fine and our 2nd daughter was born at 38 weeks. It was a smooth delivery and Dr. Broad came to the hospital in the middle of the night to deliver our little girl at 1:28am. I highly highly recommend Dr. Broad, she is hands down the best OB and there isn't anyone else we would trust more to bring our babies into the world. read more

Today I had my first visit with Dr Broad. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out new-patient paperwork and had an easy time finding the facility (free parking is a plus!) I had a 9 am appointment to go over some abnormal issues that I have been having and only had to wait about 5 minutes. She took the time to listen, ordered very appropriate lab tests, scheduled an ultrasound in about a week and a follow up to go over the labs/ ultrasound a couple weeks after that. Everything was organized, clean and I feel very comfortable about the plan moving forward. I look forward to working with a doctor that understands that throwing birth control and hysterectomies around to everyone is never the right way for ALL patients. We are all unique in our needs and getting to the root cause of symptoms is her motivation--and it shows! She clearly is very educated and put me at ease--as I was quite nervous even making the appointment. I had no problem making an appointment, got a fast appointment and really felt comfortable entering her office as previous experiences have been less than ideal with other providers. She gave me recommendations of supplements & we made a plan to get to the bottom of my issues. This review has taken me quite a while to review because I was hoping things would be taken care of. I am not one to write a negative review, this is only my second time, however I feel like I need to warn other patients of my experience. I hope someone can learn from my experience. I made an appointment to see the doctor and had to wait about a month for the appointment. Once I got to the office, they informed me that my appointment was with the midwife. I was disappointed but didn't want to reschedule the appointment. I had heard really great things about the doctor. Once I was visiting with the midwife for my PREVENTIVE care visit, she immediately dismissed my fears of some of the procedures and belittled me. She said "well, I don't know what to tell you, these things save lives." She asked me questions about my health and I responded. She ordered a mammogram, a vaginal swab and blood work as a result of my visit. After being rushed out of the room, I walked into the waiting room which was filled with patients. No wonder I was being dismissed and rushed through my appointment. When I asked her about some symptoms, she would say that they could prescribe hormones or weight loss shots. They have a drug for everything without even knowing my medical history or lab results. First, I went to the mammogram and the orders were completed incorrectly as a diagnostic visit. I had to have the paperwork redone before I could have the mammogram. As part of my preventive care visit, I expected that my blood work and mammogram would be covered by insurance. If this wasn't the case, I should have been aware that there was going to be a charge. Once the results of the test came in, the office called and gave me some names of supplements to take and a prescription. When I asked specifics about the supplements, they told me just to Google it. I told them I was concerned about a reaction to the prescription and they didn't have an answer for me. They didn't offer a phone call or follow up visit with the doctor. A few weeks later, I received bills from the doctor office and the lab. In all, the bills amount to over $640!!! This was for a preventive care visit!! When I called the office to have the bills submitted correctly to the insurance company, they told me it would be fraud and they couldn't help me. I disagree, I say it's fraud to see a patient as a preventive care visit and turn it into a diagnostic visit without consent!!! I should have been made aware that it was going to be billed as diagnostic and I should have had the option to proceed with the testing knowing it wasn't going to be covered. read more

BEWARE!!!!!! I waited a month to see the "special " ultrasound tech, Susie. She was anything BUT special....i was there for my appointment for endometriosis during a pelvic ultrasound I explained it to Susie that I lost my infant son at 4 1/2 hours after he was born, he passed away in my arms... Her reply verbatim was "oh, are you and your husband together or did you separate? "And I said yes we actually did just separate and she said "oh. yeah, did he really want a baby? I see this all the time when they really want a baby they leave their wife assuming they cannot give them a baby and never will be able to give them a baby so they leave their wife to be with another woman that can give them a baby." The audacity ??!?! She put me in a full blown panic attack and amplified my ptsd and anxiety .... Dr. Broad, I really like you but this was inhumane and unprofessional... and your front desk staff... you have to constantly be on top of them to do their job, to send info for a much needed surgery.... Only to give me one day and time for the option for MY SURGERY ON MY BODY.... And that's it. Either take it or no surgery... no telehealth or phone callls to go over blood work. I'm done with people getting away with things and not being held accountable... honestly Susie, you're in the wrong profession.... And you are going to end Dr broads practice with comments like this . It's taken me some time to process my emotions and write this review, but I feel that the issues that happened need to be heard. Dr. Broad delivered my first child. My pregnancy was uneventful and my delivery was smooth. There was definitely administrative issues throughout my pregnancy, but I dealt with them bc I liked Dr.Broad and Tabitha, the NP. I was pregnant with my second child and was scheduled to meet with Magdalena. I was asked to leave a urine sample at the beginning of my appt and Magdelena came in shortly after. She asked me and my husband if "we were trying" - I would understand this question more if it was used for notes or to track ovulation and dating, etc. She then asked me what symptoms I was having to which she responded "so no breast tenderness or nausea?" She then asked if I got a positive home pregnancy test - my thought was "yes, didn't you?? I just left you urine." She wrote up lab orders bc she said their protocol is to test my HCG before I get an ultrasound since I hadn't had a period between pregnancies. I left the office telling my husband that she made me feel so uncomfortable and I wished Tabitha was still there. 2 days later, Lorena calls me with my lab results. She says "You're in the clear!" Not sure what that means.. she answers "your HCG was 0.. were you expecting a positive pregnancy result?" Yes, that's what my appointment was for. She asked if I got a positive home pregnancy test - yes, about 50! (They had never even tested my urine in office and made zero notes about me coming in for a prenatal exam.) She then tries to convince me that the lab doesn't usually make errors and these tests aren't very sophisticated and asked if they were all the same brand or expired.. I was panicked and it literally makes my entirely body shake when I think back to this moment. After I hung up, I immediately got a different test and it lit up positive right away. I called back and they said all I could do was get my labs redone. It was a Friday and I rushed to the lab and told them what happened and they told me to call my DR and get a rush order so I could have the results that day, but I couldn't get a hold of the office. I emailed Dr. Broad on yelp (the only way I knew I could get to her) in a desperate plea to get my results sooner. She said there was no way to access the results over the weekend but she would make a note for Lorena to be on the lookout.. the results were available that Saturday. Monday morning by 11AM, no one had contacted me. I called Lorena multiple times and finally got through.. she didn't even remember who I was at first. The results showed I was indeed pregnant, but had low progesterone. I reviewed those lab results (signed by Dr Broad) and my progesterone and HCG were both virtually 0. Upon discussing with my new doctor, the results were nearly impossible and someone should have caught this before I was recklessly called and told me I wasn't pregnant. Given my age and gender, the results look like they were either someone post menopause or male. The next day, I started to cramp and bleed so I left a VM for the nurse line. By 5 PM, I hadn't heard back so I left a VM for the emergency doctor on call, Jennifer Lee, who called me back within 10 minutes. She spent 10 minutes reassuring me that it could be many things and talking through all my labs. Magdalena finally called me shortly after I spoke with Jennifer Lee and we spoke for less than 1 minute and just told me to go to the labs for blood work.. The labs confirmed I had miscarried - which also took me several attempts to get the results for. The office had the results for over 24 hours. Dr Broad took no accountability for the way her office handled any of this. She blamed the lab for the results they were given. Btw, I also had to pay for the labs that were incorrect bc the office would not report the issue to the lab. I'm devastated that my second pregnancy was met with such little compassion and understanding. Not once did I feel like anyone cared. read more

My review is based off of lack of communication, mixing up of vital tests I needed (including not performing my NT test before the deadline) unacceptable wait times, lack of returned calls, and receiving another patients records. They also made it difficult to receive my own records and have still not sent over my initial labs to my new doctor although I signed the release of records form and paid for my records. I only met Dr. broad once and she was very friendly, however, My 1 star review is based on my over all experience at this doctors office. I am a first time mom and was a patient from November 2022- February 2023. My experience here has taken away from the joy I should be experiencing as a first time mom and actually added more stress during this time. I have kept notes from my appointments and my experience goes as follows: (See attached photos) I'm now seeing DR Wiley at Hoag Irvine and I love it. They're very organized, my wait time is only about 10 minutes, they do all labs at the office there, very responsive and my DR has seen me for every appointment. read more

I was seen here last week for the first time by the Nurse Practitioner/Midwife, Donna Fritz. She was prompt, professional, and really spent more time with me than any other medical obgyn has in the last decade. I couldn't say enough nice things about her. Since I was having hormonal issues after an endometrial ablation last year, I requested an NP. Although, as others have mentioned, it is quite difficult to get an initial appointment. I used the online portal to email a request. Followed-up. Called back and eventually got a person after holding for 10 minutes. If you are patient and determined, you will get an appointment. Hang in there. It's worth it. They are also quite good at returning messages the next day. And Donna called me twice personally when I continued to have a UTI. My only issue (feedback) is there's a time lapse between when you leave the office and when RX get sent to pharmacy. I think this needs improvement. I waited hours before heading over to pick up my meds, and they hadn't even been sent. Since I support a small local pharmacy, they close at 5 pm, and in both instances, I had to wait until the following morning. If I wasn't in pain, this wouldn't have mattered, but IMO, this could have been avoided. And it didn't happen just once, but twice. So there is some breakdown in communication between NP and Dr. So my only suggestion is to examine the system. Otherwise, i highly recommend this practice. I don't knit pick. I get my medicine automatically sent by mail in a 3 month supply. For some reason I was never notified by my pharmacy that I was out of refills, so I ran out and didn't know I was empty. I called the office to see if I could get a refill and they said I needed to have an appointment FIRST before I could get a refill on my medication. I asked if it was possible to get a one month supply, so I could continue to take it until they could fit me in and they said no! Every physician I've ever been with has been willing to at least give me a refill until my appointment, it makes absolutely no sense. I spent the ENTIRE DAY, from 8am till 5 pm attempting to call and get this refill. When I finally was able to speak to a person (after leaving messages and getting only answering machine with no one answering) it was about 230pm. After expressing how wrong this was, the office assistant offered to have Dr. Broad call me. Around 4pm I called to check in since I hadn't heard back and knew the office would be closing soon. she ASSURED ME that she would have Dr. Broad call me TODAY and that they continue to see patients until they are done. I still haven't heard back, and don't expect to since it's well past closing now. I'll be left over the weekend until I can contact my PCP on Monday and speak to a Dr who will actually help me like a human being. I gave 2 stars only because Dr. Broad herself is pleasant, and I actually do believe she would have given me the one month refill to tide me over till an appointment is available in 2 weeks. I'll never know now because this office truly doesn't care about seeing their patients as humans. I understand that ultimately it is my responsibility to know how many refills of medication I have left, but they were completely unwilling to work with me to get me medication till they could see me. So lets get to this review. I want to address the negative first. As other reviews state YES it can be difficult to get through on the phones I believe I first started to see Dr. Broad in Sept 2022 and it was really bad BUT as of May 2023 things have gotten much better. Additionally their email response team is helpful and gets back quickly (also recently added I believe) As for appointments/wait times- I have been to a few different practices. All of them are busy. Thats just how it is. Your appointment may not happen exactly at its scheduled time. Unfortunately again this is just how obgyn functions. Consider this... you're about to deliver your baby and suddenly the doctor says "Oh hey someone has their 12 week appointment so gotta go" babies come when they come so yes sometimes there is a wait and the dr cant be at every appointment so yes you will see PAs and NPs sometimes (this is everywhere) All this to say reviews should consider the above Now onto Dr. Broad I had a great experience. I was high risk and it was a very scary pregnancy. They found the issues I was having quickly and got me to a specialist. Dr. Broad has a very unshakable vibe shes calm cool and collected and the type of Dr you want especially in one of the most intense moments of your life. I truly appreciated her confidence she carried throughout my pregnancy as it helped keep me calm. Come time for delivery I could only describe her as warm, passionate, and again confident. I found Dr. Broad online after my gynecologist dropped me because I was high risk. She was a breath of fresh air and took great care of me throughout my pregnancy, answered all my questions, I never felt rushed, she had a fabulous bedside manner every time I saw her, respected autonomy, respected my goals for delivery and helped me achieve the main goal of having a vaginal delivery. I always felt safe and even in the delivery room when babies heart rate was causing the nurse alarm, Dr. Broads calm demeanor kept me calm. Highly recommend Dr Broad. She is the best OB, and I am so happy my wife and I used her for the birth of our daughter, who is now 6 weeks old. Every check in she came prepared, thoroughly answered our questions, was patient and always put us at ease with any concerns we had. The mid wife Donna was also amazing, as well as the nurse and receptionist. Our baby was breached, and we had a C section. During the C section there was a bit of an emergency and Dr Broad ran into the room, saved the day and delivered us a healthy baby. During my wife's post C section recovery Dr Broad was incredibly helpful as well. Overall, being first time parents we were nervous but because of Dr Broad we had such an amazing experience and dont know what we would have done without her. We have a beautiful healthy 6 week old baby and mom is doing incredible with her recovery. Amazing doctor. read more
