worst dental place ever . I am reporting the dentist to the board of the professions. My mother went for a root canal procedure today . She waited five hours seating in waiting area for her appointment. The front desk staff tells her after five hours of wait time that the doctor is no longer seeing my mother . My mother is diabetic and could have experienced a hypoglycemic episode . Extremely unprofessional . Calling insurance also because I think they committed insurance fraud by documenting that procedure was done . Stay away from this place . read more

For example, you are given an appointment and you go to the hospital, the hospital is closed, and while you are waiting in line, you can wait for 2-3 hours. I don't recommend this location for any treatment they scam you and rob you asking for money and forcing clients to pay for treatments that the insurance covers. I waited 3 hours for my appointment. The receptionist refused to check in with the dentist to for an ETA and did not seek to understand why customers in the clinic were verbally upset about their 2-5 hour wait. I came into this Clinic as a walk in. Yes Dental, at 181 Street in Washington Heights. First thing, they accept ANYONE and EVERYONE!! I came in needing help with a tooth ache, I was surprised to see how many people were waiting to see a dentist, there were people everywhere. I decided to stay because I really wanted to fix this problem with my tooth. The girls at the reception taking the patients' information, were mostly nice. The one who took care of me, was especially nice and patient. To my surprise, once I got inside to be seen by one of the dentists, the lady dentist was so rude and treated me as if I had came in to beg for free treatment LOL, she quickly looked at my x-rays and decided she could not help me, she does not do Root Canals, ( what dental clinic doesn't do Root canals???) but its not what this lady said, its the way she said it. Very dry manner, I could hardly hear her, she turned her back to me and continued talking, she was just very, very rude, if I asked a question, she would snap, I already said what I was going to say!! I asked to speak with the manager, who came in, she was also very quick and very rude. I was a self pay, they don't accept my insurance so I paid for x rays and consult. I came out of there feeling humiliated, and disappointed. I was treated very bad, I couldn't understand why??? I have never encountered a business who treat their customers this way!!! Needless to say, I do not recommend this dental clinic. They seem to be very stressed and they don't have the courtesy and patience needed to be able to handle so many people. They take appointment and do not consider the fact you have to go to work. They are very unprofessional when it comes to scheduling appointments. I waited 2 weeks just to extract a tooth and I can imagine how long I got to wait for the filling next. They should learn how to schedule people accordingly. You try to call the business they never pick up the phone. They have about 15 people waiting and I have already 3 hours waiting just to see a dentist. This place seemed okay when I started going three years ago, even though the wait times were terrible, but I increasingly realized it was not okay at all. Here is my story: When you go in for a cleaning and x-rays you don't usually see a dentist. Instead the dental hygienist tells you whether you have any issues. She also invariably tells you that you should pay to have extra things done like a flouride rinse. A couple of years ago the hygienist told me I needed a root canal. I asked if it could be filled as a cavity. After some argument, that is what was done by the dentist, who was a middle-aged guy who was actually fine. (I haven't had any trouble with it sense). The hygienist also told me I had five other cavities. But when I saw the dentist he said that wasn't true; he didn't see any. I think it was just her way of pushing for that flouride cleaning, which she really went on and on about every time. The next time I saw the hygienist she said I needed *another* root canal plus another filling. Once again I insisted it be just filled. This time I got a different dentist, who was unable to numb my tooth in spite of multiple injections - the first time in my life that has happened. Because that was so arduous, I decided to put off doing the other cavity, planning to make an appointment with a different dentist. But I kept putting it off, and finally, six months later, switched dentists and figured I'd let the new one deal with it. I just saw the new dentist. He cleaned my teeth personally. He said I clearly take good care of them and did not push any treatments on me. And he told me I don't have any cavities. I want to repeat that: six months after being told I had a cavity which I never got filled, another dentist told me I have no cavities. Did that cavity magically disappear? Or over the maybe three years I've been going to Yes Dental have they been drilling into perfectly good teeth? I can't say for certain, but I can say: avoid this place! read more

Sooooo....it's basically a clinic. I went and saw the dentist who was a nice eastern European lady. She asked me about my career. little did no know she was feeling me out to sell me the most expensive services. They kept making excuses that my insurance didn't pay for a lot of things. but that was a lie. they kinda forced me to make a decision about Fluoride treatment while I was in the chair with my mouth open, asked me to hand over my card to pay for it. Then told me I needed porcelain veneers at 1200 a pop. but if i did them all at once I could get a discount of 950 each. I need 5. my bill is little of $5000. Then said I needed two fillings at 85.00 each. when I called my insurance I was told my co-pay is $30.00. I don't know what game they are play but i will never go back. deuces! read more

Worse clinic ever! My appointment was at11:45, now is 2pm and I'm still waiting! I'm so mad and angry! I'm wasting my Saturday on this! Plus... it my second time here! When I came here first time a week ago, I spent 30 mins waiting and after that they told me that I can't see a dentist! So disappointed. I was satisfied with my dentist but these people need a better system when it comes to the waiting. My appointment was at 1:pm got out of there at 4 almost 5. The waiting area needs to be bigger because it gets packed and people are standing. The staff are very friendly but they need to dress properly. Yes Dental is located off the beaten path - but sometimes that just hides the hidden unpolished gems. I hate dentists. You probably do too. It's one of those universal facts of life. I'm finding it quite difficult to hate, or as the matter or fact not love, Yes Dental. The staff is so warm and courteous, it's adorable. The dentist knows what he's doing, and I swear - you won't even feel it. If you ever find yourself in the area and need a dentist - I implore you to check it out. If you have no standards and don't mind a dirty and unprofessional dental experience try Yes Dental. Walking in you're greeted by unsanitary conditions, stair cases extremely dirty, dead water bugs all over so you know they don't clean, mop or have a cleaning service. When you walk into the office your not greeted by staff. It's crowded so you're standing trying to fill out a form. The front office personnel dressed in street clothes and have no customer service or interpersonal skills. You're just standing there waiting to be called and I mean for hours. They don't give updates or any info to make your visit any better. They should be shut down by the Health Department, the Better Business Bureau and the NYC Dept of Evironmental Protection. They take any insurance because the main purpose is to get more and more money. I left I could'nt fathom letting them near my face or in my mouth. read more

I got here 11:50 am. Its 2:50pm and i was called for an x-ray which i declined because i would have to pay extra. (Because of my insurance) They seem to schedule too many people and everyone here has been waiting minimum an hour. When you schedule an appointment they give an estimated time, but it is by order of arrival. There is also a lady who brought her 8 year old daughter to check a tooth. She came out unhappy because they didn't do anything to her daughter, gave her a prescription and still charged a couple of hundred dollars and her insurance. She asked for her daughters records to see if she can go handle this elsewhere, she was denied the papers. :-/ read more

I bought a groupon - my first - to get a cleaning here. Best thing I ever did. I hadn't had a cleaning in almost nine years. I went in and talked to the dentist (I can't remember her name) but she was amazing even though she broke it to me that I need two root canals. She explained everything and really knew her stuff. I then got my cleaning from Johanna. She was amazing!!!! I had awful brown stains on my lower teeth from years of smoking and not getting regular cleanings. She cleaned my teeth so thoroughly that all of my stains are gone. She took her time and worked with me when I had sensitivity by stopping and then going back later. To be honest, the amount of staining she got off my teeth was seriously amazing. My teeth are clean, white and bright and I was also sent home with a whitening kit that I'm excited to use. I will definitely be going back for regular cleanings. read more

I Just left this place and Im calling my insurance to change them as my primary dentist, my appointment was at 4pm and at 5:20 one of the staff says that the doctor cant see me because the is not feeling good, why are you telling me this now ? Worst experience Ever. Do not go to this place I repeat do NOT. I went on a Tuesday waited for 5 hours from 9am to 2pm for filling and a consultation for wisdom teeth( Ps: they told me that the doctor is only available Tuesdays and fridays that's why I went Tuesday after I confirmed my appointment at 9AM!!!!). When it hits 2pm they told me that the doctor that does oral surgery consultation left. Are you kidding me??? I have never seen such unprofessional and disrespectful way to treat people. Not Normal. And then the lady inside told me that there is an assistant that can tell you a general idea about your wisdom teeth and she is not even specialized in that. Places like that should be reported and closed, they play with people's time and life. Be Careful. so far not sure, my apt is for 10:30am it is now 12:02pm and I have yet to be called SMH... ok so got called at 12:48pm ended up getting a fill-in, cleaning & a porcelain crown & was finish with everything by 420pm basically all day @ the dentist office (just great) anyways Dr.Ella is really good, thoroughly explained everything also very patient since I can be difficult @ times. overall good dentist clinic. I gave them 3 stars because of the extended wait time (maybe they shouldn't book so many patients for 10:30am with only 3 dentist on site) . I have to go back in 2 weeks for crown placement.(hopefully no crazy w/t that day) also PLEASE make sure you confirm of any CO PAYMENTS out of pocket before seeing a dentist, these ppl are kinda not too upfront and will try and Bill you for charges your insurance will cover after all. I had to contact my dental insurance and ask what was covered or not which was a little annoying (ex: $50 for a copay when my insurance does not require any copay I laugh and politely contacted my dental insurance & happily asked them to talk to management at the clinic. besides the wait time and misinformation from the front desk about copay everything was okay. read more

I'm so disappointed and I'm restricting myself to go to this place once again. Very unprofessional, basically most of the times they don't know what to expect for most of the cases. Every time I go for a cleaning the doctor always wants to charge me $35 to do some extra rinse in which I always deny however my disappointment came after she called out that I needed a root canal treatment in my front tooth. One of the ladies in the front sent the request to the insurance. When I went back to complete one of my fillings she told me that the insurance denied the root canal and If I wanted to do it the same day for $1500 "shit!" That blew my mind off but my response was no. Then I asked one of the doctors assistants what I can do for a situation like that so she told me to appeal with the insurance. The same day I called the insurance and everything was okay they approved the root canal but they denied the post and the crown. A week after I call and I go in for my root canal treatment, the second week I couldn't go back to get it done. So after two weeks I come back for the post, which until then I didn't know the medical term. After I arrived at 10:30 I wasn't seen until 1:40 and they had me ready in the room the doctor came and explained me that me post couldn't be done because it was denied by the insurance and they were going to send another request because for every step I need to do they are going to denied the extra steps until that specifically one is done. What a waste of time! Why in the first place the front desk couldn't check out like really check out what I was going for and on top of that made me wait all of those hours for nothing. On the same note, the front desk ladies "all of them" are very unprofessional . They like to refer and talk to others in very rude manners, disrespecting others with their behaviors and tones and on top of that clothing with items that are not supposed to be for a professional environment "a crop top shirt" really? once I finish my treatment this place is going to be in my top list as a niño place to go. This is an unprofessional and disorganized place. My father went for dentures for his upper teeth, a process that would've taken, at the most, a month an half, now four months later, they still have the sorry story that the lab is working on it. When we started to inquire the reason for the delay, they said that the laboratory was working on it and now their story is that the lab owner died and a new lab is working on it. Yes Dental is HORRIBLE! I would recommend going somewhere else! I am speaking to an attorney as we speak. I originally went there because my tooth broke. Yes Dental told me that they wouldn't fix that tooth they wanted to pull it. It may have been broken but not bad enough where they couldn't repair it. I told them they aren't pulling it and I want a second opinion first. After I told them that I was really treated badly. They took a X-ray and told me I needed fillings on three of my teeth. I just saw a dentist 1 month prior to this and they said my teeth were fine. My car had broken down this is the only reason I went to yes Dental. It was walking distance. Not thinking anything I told them ok. They didn't even complete the fillings. I told them 2 days later my teeth didn't hurt before now I can't even eat. They said to come back in. I did and they blamed me stating that nothing was wrong and I am making it up. Before thanksgiving the tooth I originally went in for got massively infected. I was hospitalized for 4 days it was so bad! I went to a different dentist because I still couldn't eat after they gave me fillings. He told me the broken tooth could have easily been saved before the infection that caused them to pull it. He had to redo all the fillings I didn't even need. He told me that the fillings they didn't even do. He didn't know what they did and he said whatever they used on my teeth as a filling was still wet material. That was 2 months ago! If you want to keep your teeth and want a dentist that will help you and not make your problems worse which for me almost cost me my life because I wanted a second opinion instead of a fixable tooth being extracted, I would NOT go to yes Dental!
