I have been to this office 4 times already and the service and quality of work are outstanding. I am a 76-year-old woman and you can imagine the number of dentistry offices I have visited in my lifetime. This is without a doubt the best. Save your time in money! I had a root canal/ crown and a tooth implant done as well at this dentist office. 2 months later my crown came off and I went back and the doctor said I need to replace it or get a filling at half price. What! And then I went to 3 other dentist and they all said I need to redo the implant and the crown. Now I can barely eat on that side. As I spent thousands for nothing thinking I was saving by going to this dentist instead my dentist on Park Avenue and 62nd Street. I done all this work not even a year ago. And now have to pay $8k to redo the work. They don't take any accountability for the work they do and the big lady in the front never say my name correctly as I've told her my name is Melvon not Melvin so that lets me know she just do it on purpose since I've told her three times already out of my 10 visits. The doctor assistance were very nice, but I'm just unhappy to redo all the stuff I had done and a short period of time. This place takes good care of you. They don't have you waiting for long and they're really friendly and nice. Growing up I never like going to the dentist but this place changed that for me. Must come early because they book a lot of people. My first there I was told I have to get a crown, they book me right away. They made the crown perfect. They deal with rude people sometimes but just know they are professional at what they do. The receptionist helps me out when I need a reminder of my appointment so I won't have to pay a dime. Best dental experience I've ever had! They accept all sorts of insurance and scheduling an appointment is easy, quick and painless. They have a variety of hours that are compatible for working folks! The facility itself is very clean and modern. There is entertainment in the procedure room and the staff is very nice and effective. Dr. N is efficient and to the point, and as I told him his dentsl hygienist Tiffany is a gem! She is professional but friendly, and most importantly very thorough when it comes to setting your dental hygiene straight. They take DC 37 and the dentist, as well as the person that takes the xrays are really excellent. I was assigned an Asian Dentist and I'm sorry that I didn't get his name, because he was outstanding. My daughter had the worst experience today with the office manager. She was so mean and nasty because my daughter was 20 mins later. When my daughter got there she tried to say hello to her and the office manager rolled her eyes at my daughter. The office manager said to my daughter we are not gonna see you with the nastiest attitude just like that. She rescheduled right away and said to her Bye your done here! Now my daughter don't even want to go there by herself because the office manger made her feel so unwanted there. I even called the office and the office manager was yelling at me on the phone. I was referred to this place by one of my coworkers that takes our union dental plan. I came in with a painful rotten tooth and left with the tooth extracted as requested. The whole experience was pain free the dentist and staff made me feel very comfortable the whole time. I didn't experience any pain afterwards either. The service is very poor, they are not organized in that the service conducted on me such as fillings were incomplete. The xrays were never explained to me. I learned from a different dental office of an infection that I had in my gums and the dental office was shocked that my xrays were never explained to me. My appointment at this office was incredibly unprofessional. My initial appointment was to get my wisdom teeth removed. The surgeon was in preparation and the receptionist decided to arrive last minute with a price quote. I decided to schedule another appt due to how unprofessional it was. I gave them another chance. The receptionist was once again unprofessional, making me wait several minutes before informing me I could sit down. When the surgeon arrived he told me that I wouldn't be able to get my teeth removed DESPITE him prepping me the first time. He decided to refer me somewhere to an office that wasn't any more helpful than this office was. I recently moved back to NYC & had to switch my primary doctors. It was very frustrating trying to find a recommended dentist that accepted my insurance. I checked Yelp and found Dr. Nazar. I Then further looked into his reviews on Google. I was very nervous about my first visit because I hadn't been to the dentist in about 2 years. I made a same day appointment. I was seen about 15 mins after I came in ( only because I had to fill out the new patient paperwork ; which wasn't a lot to fill out ). I got X-rays and a cleaning and was told that I needed a root canal ( i was definitely scared now ). Two weeks later I went in for the root canal & he was AMAZINGGG ! They have modern technology which made me feel comfortable especially when it came time to numbing my mouth . I didn't feel a thing. He was very comforting and has a pleasant bedside manner. I was pleased with the temporary work he performed until my crown was ready. I made another appointment two weeks later for my permanent crown & I am 100% satisfied ! I had been calling the office from August 31, 2020. I spoke to three people who PROMISED TO CALL ME BACK. My insurance was changed and I was told that I would get assistance in expediting my dental care. i WAS TOLD BY HARLEM DENTAL THEY HAD SUBMITTED MY CLAIM. My dental work was ALREADY APPROVED, but since my main insurance was changed, THE CLAIM WAS TO BE RESUBMITTED. The person on the phone said it was submitted. I called on October 8, 2020 and was told that it would take up to six to eight weeks. I told the person on the phone I was experiencing bleeding, pain and headaches. She said she would help me get things quicker. My spirit told me to call DELTA DENTAL which is the new insurance. Delta Dental said there is NO EXISTING CLAIM FOR ME. Harlem Dental was deceptive, and failed to assist me properly AFTER they assured me they would. I WILL GO never go THERE AGAIN. There are unprofessional and the incompetent! read more

I'm really surprised by the negative ratings. I've had issues with my teeth for years (had my first root canal in high school) so I have spent a lot of time in the dentist's chair. Last year I lost a crown and this office was a few blocks north of me. They got me in, broke down the costs, and suggested a dental plan that in the end saved me a few hundred dollars. Service was great and Dolly, the young woman at the front desk, is fantastic and a lot of fun to talk to. Flash forward a year later, within a week of moving to Florida I broke a tooth and needed another crown. I went to three places here to find out how much it would be and the experiences were terrible. Called Harlem Dental and found I could fly back to NYC - twice-, get TWO crowns AND see a show on one trip for less than just one crown here. All because of the plan they suggested to me 11 months prior. Dolly even helped my pick days around my work schedule and time around my flights. I was in and out in under two hours which was good considering some additional work that needed to be done on the second troublesome tooth. I go back in three weeks to have the crowns put on. The first time I went in March 2017, they were great. Hardly any wait and the doctor is so nice, knowledgeable, and did a good exam and cleaning. Unfortunately that was the beginning and the end of a great experience and I blame the front desk. I was pre-approved for a procedure and called to make an appt. Made a Saturday appt. I was called 2 days before and told some conference came up and they had to reschedule. Rescheduled for during the week. Waited ONE HOUR plus and overheard one receptionist tell the other that she hadn't checked my name off. After waiting an hour and 15 minutes, I told them I needed to leave. The receptionist had the gall to ask why and ask me WHERE ELSE DID I HAVE TO GO?! Called and rescheduled for another Saturday. Was once again called two days before and asked to come in 30 min earlier. Agreed. Saturday comes, I start getting increasingly harassing voicemails starting 2 hrs prior to my appt (I checked the time stamps after this whole debacle) from them saying I can come in earlier if I'd like. Not asking me to call and confirm, not saying I have to come earlier, just saying...U can if you want. One voicemail even said they were WAITING on me...mind you this is an HOUR before my scheduled appt. 30 min prior to my appt, I get another voicemail saying that my appt is cancelled because the doctor has an emergency. I call them back and when I ask to speak to the doctor I'm put on hold for 5 minutes and then told the doctor left 5 min ago. I called the office about it that next week and although the Office Manager was really nice, understanding, and apologetic on behalf of the ones who were ultimately responsible; the whole situation left me with a bad feeling. read more

Run. Do not even put this place on your radar. 35 yrs ago, one of my front teeth was broken, on a diagonal, pretty much broken in half. The first bonding repair lasted maybe 5 yrs, the second is going on 30 yrs. Finally chipped a little so i booked an appt here for the repair. As soon as I was in the chair, a technician came in and explained he was going to take xrays. Reasonable, but the fact that he took a complete set without any consultation or agreement on my part, made me start to wonder about this place. Second guy comes in and says he "needs to do some cleaning." Again, seemed reasonable initially. Then he begins to grind on my teeth with the dental equivalent of a dremel. And it hurts, as he's hitting my gums in the process. And I don't want the top layer of my tooth enamel ground off like bathroom grout. And he doesn't have the suction device positioned properly and the water is pouring out of my mouth, down my neck and soaking my shirt. So I stop him and explain what is happening and he barks - I don't know how I'm going to do a cleaning then - so I bark back that I didn't come for a cleaning, my front tooth needs to be bonded. He stomps out and eventually another guy comes in and looks at my tooth and agrees it should be bonded. I explained the history of my tooth and asked if he would remove all of the old bonding material first, as new won't hold up on top of old. That's when he tells me all he's going to do is file the chip and put the resin on. Because my tooth is not bonded. I kid you not, we go back and forth for a good 5 to 10 minutes, during which time he admits a new bond won't hold onto old. I think that I am finally going to get my ugly tooth repaired and ask again, so you are going to remove all the old first? Again, no. Because my tooth is not bonded. I ask, so what do I do when it breaks off in a week. When he said that I should come back and he will repair it again, I lost it. I told him I would rather find a competent dentist and have it repaired once. The thought of this hack injecting novacaine and using more power tools in my mouth for a temp fix was too much. Old bonding materials don't show up as clearly on xrays and this moron has no idea. I filed a complaint about all of this with my insurance company. And I still have an ugly tooth. I have soft teeth and a complicated dental history. I have been to dentists all over this city. Expensive dentists, ones that specialize in different procedures, Groupon dentist, highly recommended dentists, etc. I have to say this is one of the best dentists I have seen.I saw Dr. Nazir as an emergency appointment when I needed a root canal. He was super gentle with the numbing shots and made sure I was numb before he started working. You would be surprised how many dentist don't actual make sure you are fully numb. He worked efficiently and gave me clear instructions. Best of all they didn't overcharge. By far the cheapest root canal I have had. Returned the following week to finish the work and the appointment was fast and he explained work that I will return for at the start of the year. I don't need ipads in the lobby, fancy bottled water or special massage chairs (yes I have had those at a dental office.) What I need is an intelligent dentist who cares about the quality of their work and charges a fair price. I will be back in the future. A+ read more
