Picked one up from here while getting burgers (since the only other place to get a good one is permanently closed) for the rest of the family and I am very impressed. The food is still good, but it's just not the same since Rosie left. The one thing I can't stand are the flies. I don't want to sit down to eat and I'm swatting flies from my food face the window. And it seems to be every time I come here always with the flies. Because the towns lack of power we've had I'm sure today's visit was worse then normal so I won't fault today's visit but there's fly issue for sure. read more

Have been coming here a couple times a month for almost a year now. Always fresh food at a reasonable price. Excellent salsa bar, friendly staff. Try the chile relleno and their carnitas are awesome. To address the concerns about this being the new taco shop in town; yes it is. Love this place. I live just a few miles away and frequent Yilberto's regularly. That was not a typo. It used to be called Jilberto's but the ownership decided to make a break from the corporate and go on their own. The food is just as good as it ever was and maybe even better. It is in Anza, about midway from Palm Desert to Temecula. Anza was unheard of before Garmin and Google Maps started plotting the shortest route between. Whereas a few years back, you could take a nap on Hwy 371 on a weekend. Now, at least a hundred thousand vehicles go by on any Sunday. The road bikers love the road. Ylberto's is on Hwy 371 and Bautista Rd. Whether you are headed to Palm Desert or San Diego or are just spending a day enjoying Bautista Canyon and Thomas Mountain, stop in and get your fill of delicious Mexican food at Yilberto's. I was hesitant to go to this place when it opened up. In a small town, we kind of stick to what we know. But, during a fundraiser that was being held there (they were kind enough to allow the fundraiser to be held there), I stopped in for a bite. I never went to the other place again, ever. The food was amazing. The flavor was exceptional. I have never had better food at a taco shop. We don't eat out much, but when we do, there is no question. If we are here in town, we will eat at Jilberto's. Oh and the salsa.... incredible! Now for the service.... The service is just as good as the food. They ALWAYS have a smile on their face, and are genuinely happy to see you. You can hear the smile in their voice when you call an order in. They don't act like it's a favor they are doing for you, or like they would rather be somewhere else. Back to the small town... when you run a business in one, you need to be careful how you treat people. I never got a smile a the other place. The grocery store in town is a no-go zone for me, because they have a crappy attitude. Many of the businesses here could learn a thing or two from Jilberto's. If I could rate this place 0 stars I would because the customer service was very bad. The girl in the front working the cash register was rude and did not have a smile on her face at all. She never welcomed us and whenever we would say thank you she would just shake her head and walk away and wouldn't have the audacity to at least say "you're welcome. Ordered the Chile rellenos. A horrible greasy mess! This is the second time coming to this place. Didn't really care for the food the first time, but the employees were nice, so I thought I'd give it another chance nearly a year later. The rellenos came floating in some kind of red sauce that was so greasy, I couldn't get the first bite down. Returned it and asked for a carne asada burrito, which was given, but the change was never offered from the difference of a burrito, and th platter I'd originally ordered. To make things worse, the burrito they gave me was half the size given at our other local Mexican restaurant (of which I won't name). My wife and I have nearly 30 years food and bev experience between us, and would much rather these little country places close down and make room for a vendor that makes great fare rather than only offering mediocre food, knowing our choices are limited on our little mountaintop. Will never recommend this place and they surely will NEVER get another dime of my dough! Order at ur own risk!!! read more

I have heard from many people this place has gone through a few owners , however the last few years a couple took over this place and made it a gem. I've never had a single thing I didn't like and I've eaten here literally 100 times now. Their chicken and beef enchiladas are out of this world , their taquitos are literally the best I've ever had. Dont get menudo here. I got it twice and both times asked them for no foot and they gave me foot and six counted chuncks of menudo in each large order cup. Not worth the price or the wait. As for the barbacoa it is super super greasy, it pours out of your tacos and runs down all over the place, i couldnt even finish eating i was too disgusted. read more

This small mexican restaurant is on highway 371, not far from the Cahuilla Indian reservation. The sign over the entrance says something about a "Sports Bar," but don't be fooled. This little restaurant that recently opened has a great family atmosphere, super yummy salsas, and excellent food. I especially appreciated the friendly staff. f you like little weird bugs crawling on your tacos, give it a try. I had already eaten a taco when I saw something moving in the other tacos. I tried to be polite and not to make a scene, as to freak out the remaining customers. When I alerted the owner/manager, she yelled back at the cook to check the cilantro mix, but never offered me a refund. She let me leave the store without offering, I could not believe it. I kept thinking about the nasty bugs and how many i ATE and started to feel sick. I went directly to my all time favorite "LA COCINA" and reminded myself why I should stick to what I know. When I came back down the road I decided to stop by again and ask for a refund. They gave it to me, but they didn't seem too happy. Needless to say, I will never step foot at this place again. Ordered a catering order for a a party of 60. The food was great! I called about 3-4 different times to change the order or ask a question and each time I was was met with a very nice, professional and knowledgable staff. I always say you can tell good Mexican food by the refried beans and they are very good here! I've tried several burritos including breakfast, carne asada and carnitas and they were all great! Chili relleno was so so but everything else on the menu that I've tried has been good! We live in Anza and frequent both Mexican restaurants in town. Both are good, but we tend to go to this one a bit more often. If we're heading down the hill to Temecula and want to grab something on the go for breakfast their breakfast burrito is number one! read more

My family and I love this place. Their menu is pretty darn good and they let me order "off menu" to get my quesadilla al pastor--it is yummy goodness! Between the burger and fry combos (usually I don't eat 'American' food from any restaurant that has another theme, like Italian or Mexican) and all the other items on the menu, nobody in the family is without something they will gobble down. So when I walk in and I say, "Tengo hambre...donde esta me burrito?", they smile and laugh at the white girl, but they always make it right! lol! read more
