Communication around costs is unclear and can be misleading. On top of that, the office manager is extremely rude, and the staff is not welcoming or friendly, which makes the overall experience even more frustrating. Save yourself the stress and consider going elsewhere. However, the front office looks like it has been a consistent struggle since a transition. There has been high staff turnover, frequent mistakes, and multiple cancellations due to hygienist scheduling issues. I've tried to be patient, understanding that changes take time, and they are all sweet and sincere except my most recent experience was very frustrating. When I arrived for a scheduled cleaning, I was told the appointment had been canceled because of their scheduling issue. I had received no call, no voicemail, and no cancellation notice -- only text reminders to confirm the appointment and reminder that it's time to make a new appointment. Instead of offering a sincere apology or acknowledging the inconvenience, the receptionist (Robin) repeatedly insisted they had called me several times ( no history of a single phone call from them on my phone) and simply asked if I wanted to reschedule. It's a shame, because the doctors and hygienists are excellent, but the lack of professionalism and training at the front desk makes the overall experience much less positive than it should be. However, I never see the same person in sequence for teeth cleaning and when the older doctors come in afterwards, it's really cursory - no jaw exam no tongue exam, one didn't even touch my teeth or look in my mouth. Then they applied resin by almost spraying it on. There was resin on my gums and a thick layer on my teeth with globs between my teeth. They most definitely did not paint it on. It was so gross. I water picked it off after an hour. I think I'm not going back there. The front desk staff is very nice and it is a pleasant office. I know a lot of people in Kailua really like them and they are good community citizens, but this is the third Cleaning visit. I've been disappointed, today was the worst. Maybe it's just my bad timing.

Her friend's son was organizing a Blood Drive in conjunction with the annual Blood Drive that a dentist's office in Kailua sponsors every 4th of July weekend. Hmmm... She knows that I am a regular blood donor. I was scheduled to donate in June, and I juggled my schedule around so that I could support two worthwhile projects at the same time! This event was well organized with live music; free shared parking in the lot next to Jack In The Box on Oneawa Street; and goodie bags for donors! It made me want to participate every year! If you're able to donate blood, please consider signing up for a convenient bloodmobile near you - or at the Dillingham or Young Street locations of the Blood Bank of Hawaii. Thanks to Dr. K.B. Every time I've had work done, it's been excellent. The hygienists are always so sweet and genuinely remember you and your life. The front desk ladies are seriously the nicest people ever, and never miss a beat. I tend to get nervous with dental work, but the dentists and assistants are always comforting and gentle, which makes such a difference. Even after moving from Kailua to town, I still make the drive because the care here is unmatched. It's rare to find a place where you feel both well cared for and truly cared about.
